They use them in conjunction with cable. We would buy a Roku again if we needed one for our tv. We looked at others, like a Firestick, but we got this and have been happy.

I love being able to watch for free.

One time payment with lots of free stuff to watch. Stays on through my wifi even when it rains and my Dish tv goes out. I love it. Will probably be getting one more for my spare bedroom for company. Also it was really inexpensive.
