Doesn't do anything that a smart TV doesn't already do. Returned it.

The device runs great, and it automatically detects the resolution display which is great. Apps are easy to add and use, and they run smoothly. During the setup I had to connect the device to my network twice because the first time it wouldn't pick up that there was internet which was annoying. Also, the steps that require using another device to finish the setup should be built in because using multiple devices is cumbersome when the second device isn't actually necessary to operate the Roku (unlike with Chromecast)

Believe me: I am NOT a techie at my age. My wife and I want movies on demand; and after researching the various streaming devices, I went with the ROKU. The instructions are clear; the device does 75% of the work and you are up and running in less than 10 minutes. I decided to get one level up from a basic stick; and I really like the remote. Highly recommend for price:performance.

This is my first experience with Roku product and so far, it has been excellent. The picture quality is super exciting on my 4k TV and it runs pretty smoothly. Note that you have to use a 4K -capable HDMI to get the best pictures in 4k TV. Compared with my fire stick, this device runs much more smoothly and generally more reliable. Highly recommended.

The product is excellent! Very fast speed...plenty of options for content. If you are looking for an ethernet port this product does not have that or a micro card drive port...those are on the Premiere + product. I have owned several Roku products over the years and they keep getting better!

FIRST: Buy an HDMI cable !!!! There is none in the box. Background: We had a terrible experience with our previous Fire Stick (remote quit working, dropped connections, even the iOS app was difficult to use). I just connected the Roku Premier HDMI to my receiver and the Roku box using an HDMI cable using the same HDMI port on my receiver that had the Fire Stick so I could manage it using the menu button on my universal remote control set up for the Fire Stick. Set up and registering processes are straight forward and the result is stunningly easy and responsive Roku performance compared to the Fire Stick (which is now in the garbage). WAY more options and fast cursor response rate.

I purchased both Roku Premiere and Premiere + to replace my Roku 2 and 3 respectively. The Roku 2 would no longer allow surround sound to get to my receiver and both would lock up more and more often. I got tired of having to reboot them to use them. Both of the new Roku devices set up quickly and easily. A pain to sign back in to the apps but other than that no problems. The Roku Premiere is the only one using WIFI and it works well. It does not have a headphone jack in the remote like the Roku 2 did but I really didn't use it anyway. Haven't yet had the time to check out the new apps or stations yet.

Amazing streaming device! In my opinion this is the best one out there. I have tried many others and his one by far has the most apps and is user friendly.

I had an Amazon Fire Stick and HATED the user interface (UI). You had little control with how to organize apps and shows. Roku is wayyyyy better. I love it. Best choice ever to return the Fire Stick and I hate returning stuff I buy. The Roku Premiere is very snappy, fast with everything you do. I know it's not fair to compare to the Fire Stick that I had but it's way faster just like I'm sure it would be way faster than Roku's streaming stick.

Bought a roku for my 4K and love the picture it gives!

The new Roku premiere works great and I love how easy it is to use. Its great having such a massive selection of shows and movies to choose from, everyone in the home has something they love on it! Would recommend to a friend. Great for those who are not tech savy and has tons of stuff for everyone! -RE

This was my first streaming device that I have purchased at it is awesome. It is so easy to use and it gives everyone in the household something different to watch. It is great for people who like to have versatility and stream off your phone. Great Christmas gift for anyone!! RE

I actually won this product in a white elephant exchange during Christmas. I’ve tried Roku products in the past, but not recently. This product is actually quite the competitor to Amazon Fire TV products. I love that Roku has all of the apps basically installed, all you have to do is select which ones you’d like during the set up process. I have found that this product is definitely better at keeping a constant internet connection as opposed to the fire stick. I never have loading or buffering issues using our Roku. One of my favorite features is that Roku has Fandango Now, so you can purchase or rent titles instantly! For the price point, this product is great. I love that it has a much steadier internet connection and the format is definitely more user friendly. It’s a toss up between this or a fire stick, but I don’t think you can go wrong with this Roku model.

When we first cut the cord 3 years ago, I wanted Apple TV b/c we are so integrated into the Apple ecosystem. Now I know, that was a terrible decision. This device does just about everything I could want. An overwhelming amount of options, but those most popular are simple to find and navigate. Has everything a cord cutter could want. Is a device for watching content, not to be a web browser with shopping apps. Only streaming box I plan to put in my house. I cannot speak to the 4K.

We had the Roku 1 and upgraded to this one which is so much faster and reliable

Allows watching NETFLIX and HULU with my computer. Means I don't have to use my DVR to tape show when I just watch them with the Roku.
