We had Fire Sticks previously, but the newest one was complete garbage. It’s dumb that Roku still uses IR tech for these so that you cannot control volume from the remote. You can purchase their expensive remote, but then the total price is approaching like $70. I also expected the UI to have been improved since the last time we used a Roku device, but it’s just okay. We gave this to one of our kids and bought Apple TV instead.

However, while it streams cable now for free, apparently in the future they’re going to charge. $10/month which is more than cable charges for their boxes. When that happens, I won’t be using it.
