The remote, on the other hand, has been a big issue for me. I have to literally stand in front of the streaming device to search something or switch from app to app. I moved the streaming device from the side of my TV to the top thinking that would fix it but it didn't. I decided to just download the roku remote on my phone thinking (again) it would fix the problem and be easier to use. But the problem with that was every time I closed out of the roku remote app, the internet disconnected and I would have to turn off the router then on again to reconnect. This is beyond frustrating and annoying! This is a brand new product. Why the hell doesn't this thing work properly! I shouldn't have to work this hard to watch some TV. And also, there's no voice button on my roku premiere! I seriously can't believe roku is this terrible. If I didn't pay for this with my own money it would be in the garbage right now. People, just buy something else.

Posted .Hi Dani, help has arrived! The most common reason for missed button presses is the Roku device that is located in a position where the signal from the remote is blocked (or partially blocked). The second most common reason is low or dead batteries. Try the following to resolve:
-Make sure you can see the front of your Roku device from where you are sitting. Try holding your remote higher (e.g., above your head) and point it downwards at the front of your Roku device. Make sure to remove any obstacles that may block the signal.
-If your Roku device is still not responding to button presses, try removing the batteries from your remote, re-inserting them, and restarting your Roku player.
-If your Roku device continues to be unresponsive to button presses, try replacing the batteries in your remote with fresh matching batteries.

Roku should include it's advanced remote with voice control, TV volume and power with all of it's players. The lack of these buttons on the remote makes the streaming experience much less enjoyable. Spend a few more bucks and get a Roku with the advanced remote.
