Roku is great. It is easy to setup and simple to use.

Believe it or not, now that I have to work remotely from home and connect to the internet again I only just activated Wi-Fi. Two of my TV's were older so I got this Roku unit for them. Haven't cut the cable yet but plan to soon, love the available shows and free streaming apps. Takes a bit of getting used to know how to find the show you want, but the Roku unit itself was extremely easy to install and very user-friendly, especially for someone like me that's a little out of date with technology

I bought this to replace an aging Roku streaming stick that simply couldn't handle newer TV apps that would constantly crash. It solved the problem. I can now watch the cable news channels provided by Xfinity over the network without having a cable box. It's easy to set up and configure. You plug it in and it works. What I like about this over the streaming stick is that the IR remote responds immediately whereas the older RF model had to wake up - hit the button and wait. That's gone now. However, the out-of-box experience, SUCKS. Once you connect it to your WiFi, be prepared to wait. It took 2 hours to download updates and whatever channels are pre-programmed in. Yes...2 freakin' hours - and I've got 802.11ac WiFi. If you get this with the expectation that you can come home, plug it in and have movie night, think again. Set this up the night before. Also, this disjointed way apps are developed need to be addressed. Some work with Roku app and integrate with the voice search, others do not. They on-screen keyboard varies between apps - some are QWERTY and others are ABCD. Roku needs to give devs a standard API so that the interface is the same and searching on Netflix isn't completely different to searching on Amazon. Finally...the buttons. I use 1 out of the 4 app buttons - Netflix. Can't we have buttons for the most common services like Amazon and AppleTV? How about letting us customize them?

I bought this Roku to use simply for streaming movies and TV shows. I have another Roku already and am able to cast to it from my phone if needed, so I assumed that this device would do the same. This device has shown to be good with streaming using the remote and the downloaded apps, but it does not support casting from my phone. That was a little disappointing, given that I spent more on this device than the previous one I had. Other than that, however, it has been a good purchase.

This is a great 4k streamer. Fast and good quality. Roku rocks!

Pros, 1. If you don't have a smart TV this is a great way to get all your streaming platforms on a modern flat screen TV. 2. It supports 4K, HDR and all the modern sound encoders. 3. It's easier to use than the Firestick IMO. 4. The search menu is one of the best features. Con, 1. It's more limited than a Firestick as far as apps. 2. I could never get Dolby ATMOS nor DTS-X to work at all with this device and I have a ATMOS/DTS-X capable receiver. 3. This is the biggest con. My unit burnt out from over heating within less than 4 months. This unit gets hot(and the Firestick gets hot as well) so if you're going to buy this unti I'd advise unplugging every time you're not using it or run it through a TV that fully powers down otherwise you risk this unit will burn out fast. If you want a streaming device for a TV that doesn't have smart capabilities I'd recommend a either a Firestick, one of the Roku Ultra boxes(I noticed they run a lot cooler) or better yet just sell you TV and get a modern smart TV so you don't have to bother with this device at all.

I like being able to access cable television stations using the Roku. It was easy to set up and get running. I cannot give it a full 5 stars because there is no 'off' switch, so when I turn on my television, it's in screensaver mode. According to Roku, it only uses a small amount of electricity, "the same as powering a nightlight," but I want it O-F-F, using no electricity, and the only option is to unplug it, which is ridiculous.

We had the original Roku's but they will not update anymore. I could have purchased new televisions but why waste the money. These switched over great and now with You tube TV, we are ditching Fios and the $200 bill for 7 televisions (3 boys and xbox streaming). Yes, Fios charges for those stupid little digital boxes and the big box. No more cable fee.

Roku has and will always be great, free channels and great value

Bought this for access to YouTube TV. Functions far better than an Amazon fire stick. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget.
