Buggy software not ready for release

I could hear the audio but the screen goes black. The new unit is just as buggy. Apps crash frequently during play and the button pushes are delayed several seconds at times. The sound is good for its size. It works for the bedroom. I would return it but it is past the return time. I have to pay for shipping to ROKU so it is not worth it. I have used ROKU for years but this is having me look for alternatives. I have an Amazon Fire and so far so good.

It will not shutoff sometimes and will all the sudden come on in the middle of the night, I’m thinking about returning it. The sound has not increased, this is the reason I purchased.

For optimum sound performance, ensuring you have proper placement is key. Be sure that the front edge of your Streambar is flush with the front edge of the shelf it’s placed on. You'll also want to avoid placing it inside a closed space like a cabinet or TV stand. As an additional tip, you can fine-tune your listening experience by adjusting settings like sound modes, speech clarity, and volume modes. This should help to tailor the audio settings to your liking.

The services run slower; just browsing for movies on Netflix can be painful at times. I use the Roku app to listen on headphones at night and it loses connection all the time. If I don't turn down the volume before connecting with the App, it blares when I lose connection. TO make things worse, the volume control is disabled when you connect with the app. Frankly, the sound improvement is marginally better than my TV speakers and I have yet to get the optical connection to work with my TV. I'm seriously considering mothballing this and reverting the Roku stick.

If you are looking for good stereophonic sound you need to find some other better options which only provide good sound with separate speakers.

The only draw back is that it freezes up sometimes. Its resolved by a hard reboot, but hopefully there is a firmware upgrade soon to fix this problem.
