We recently cut the cable cord and were excited to find a streaming device that included speakers. We tested a friend's Roku streambar and found the sound was great (not looking for theatre-quality surround-sound, but found it very rich, with a good balance of high and low tones), the interface easy to navigate, and the visuals clear and sharp (even on a 20-year old TV). We decided to purchase this device, but quickly found that it wouldn't work for us for one reason: no other way (besides wifi) to connect the device to the internet. This is the only reason for this 3-star review. Every room in our house is its own Faraday cage (read: you can't get streaming-strength wifi signals from end of the house to the other), and so we need a streaming device with an ethernet option. Why doesn't this streambar have one? It's not as if there's no room to add a port (there's already an optical port and a USB port), and I can't imagine there isn't room for an ethernet card somewhere inside... The lack of ethernet option is really disappointing for an otherwise excellent device. I'd level-up my review if Team Roku decided to level-up the options. And for a 5-star review, they should consider taking a page from TiVo's book and add ports for peripherals like DVD players (yes, some of us still use those). If you have excellent wifi and do nothing but stream your media, I could recommend this device. Otherwise, step down to the Ultra and get a cheap soundbar from a big box store.

Another excellent product from Roku. Compact yet powerful with its typical easy to use remote. A great addition to bypass the TV speakers, used in a secondary TV viewing area of our home.

This is my third different Roku device and wish it had been the first. Good sound, easily "installed" great addition. If you are going to get a Roku device get this one.

easy to install..love that we can stream all our apps and more with a great sound that can be adjusted from the remote ... all this from a little unintrusive box..it suits our our simple needs and was priced affordably...would recommend.

Exactly what I needed for my non-smart tv with poor quality sound. This player works much better than the previous Roku sticks and the sound quality is great for the price.

Well for starters, It is an upgrade to me for what I had. I have the "old" Roku ultra that works just fine. So I tried this one anyway. Hooked it into my new Yamaha RX-V6 and everything worked well after setting up the receiver. Then the sound went out after about two weeks. Going to get a replacement and try again. Looks good and yeah, sounds pretty doggone good...when it worked.

Love it! My poor old LCD TV likes to wake up and not detect it, but if you fiddle with the Roku remote (wiggle the direction pad a few times) before turning your TV on it connects right up and works great. To be fair, my old full stereo sound system has the same issue. Good sound, Roku also allows Airplay from Apple devices AND MiraCast (Android, etc), which is the main reason I got it as well as my TV speakers are blown out.

This bar is small enough to not take over your TV console but powerful enough to fill your room. The speech enhancement is also a great feature.

Roku Streambar With Remote is a really good choice if you want to upgrade the sound quality and level from your tv, add voice remote and tv control, and gain convenience. It is easy to install and use.

This beats the sound from the TV speakers and it simplifies integrating Roku into a smart TV. I cannot give it 5 stars because the sound while better than the internal TV speakers, could be a lot better.

Can’t believe I went without this for so long! So happy with this product, and my son is able to search his favorite kid shows easily! Happy customers here!

The Bar sets up pretty easy.Just follow the very clear on screen instructions. It pulls in a good streaming picture( I used Netflix ). I bought this because my Samsung streaming Blu-ray stopped supporting most major streaming channels except Netflix and You Tube and Prime. I wanted more channels and Bar does fine with that,but, I have projector with older audio receiver that optical and coaxial digital sound I thought the optical socket on bar was an output but it is an input that loops sound from television back into speaker of bar. instead of into a receiver. I had to order HDMI audio extractor to get digital sound to optical input of my receiver. My fault for not doing better research on bar. This over all is a good streaming devise.

This was a perfect scenario for a bedroom/ small living room area. It accommodates older tv and sounds great. All easy to use and super easy bluetooth access.

Worth every dollar! Just buy it. You won’t need your Bluetooth speaker anymore. They’re only $100 so I’m buying one for all of my TVs…steam Spotify control volume from the phone

Great sound! Many options to tailor sound. Remote eats batteries like you can't believe (often after an auto update occurs, until the fix the problem. One time the Duracells died 5 days later). The processor inside the unit is slow. It lags changing streams. I like the option to use ethernet wired internet, but, it will NOT accept 1000Mbps adapters (which connect via the one USB port). Will only accept certain 10/100 Mbps dongles. For the price, especially if you get it on discount, it is fine. If you can bypass the built in speakers, get a Roku 4. Much faster performance.
