    Worked well for 5 months, now remote controller fails to connect every 3-4 times I turn the TV on, apps disconnect because of a lack of internet service (which isn't true), because it does not happen to my friends roku, who also uses a roku.

    Headphones are useless

    So this is my third Roku player in about 5 years. The first two, the headphones were basically useless as any movement caused static. Gave them one more try with this. Big mistake. Not only do these also have static in the headphones with minimal movement, but even with no movement the sound cuts out every 5 seconds or so for 1-2 seconds. Utterly useless and will be returning asap. I specifically need the headphone feature so this is equivalent to flushing $60 down the toilet if you purchase for that reason.

      Hi there, thanks for being a customer of ours for years. This is certainly not the kind of experience we'd hope for you to have. We have a few suggestions that may help!

      First, try replacing the batteries in your remote with a fresh, new set. And always unplug your headphones to extend your remote battery's life.

      Have you tried an alternative set of headphones? Not all headphones are created equally and it may help alleviate the static noise.

      Lastly, you can always access private listening on the free Roku mobile app.

    We returned item changed our minds it was nice and easy to use I guess but we decide it was a little complicated for us we’re in our 70s we got another easier ti use one

    Its simple small and so far so good. The only thing is that i cant program the roku remote to turn on or off my tv. But i think it just depends on the brand.. love the headphones feature for private listening

    I absolutely loved this when I first purchased it. It has every app you can imagine and is super user friendly. The big problem is there are too many bugs. Sometimes I couldn’t open Sling, so I would have to remove the app, then add it back. Sometimes my screen would just freeze completely and I couldn’t access any apps. I couldn’t just power it off and back on to reset. I had to take the batteries out and put them back in (which was a chore in itself). This happened more and more often. This was my 2nd go with Roku, and now I have just finally given up. I went back to using my fire stick and life is much better.

    I have used Roku for almost 10 years. I decided to upgrade and it was a colossal disappointment. The remote didn't "work" with my tv according to the sound test, but it still sort of worked. For a couple weeks. My sound would cut out every 10 seconds or so, which was super irritating on a good day. But then while I was listening to a movie the sound suddenly changed to a high pitched, ear-damaging screech. I couldn't get it to stop and I couldn't get the remote to go off the headphones. I finally had to just disconnect the entire thing and haven't been able to use my tv to stream since.

    There were many reasons I returned my Roku. I could not get the local channels which was the reason I bought the devise. The remote control was hard to use it did not control the volume or change channels. It overrode the TV remote. Set up was not as easy as the sales person said, I had to enter a credit card & personal information even though the sales person said I could skip that. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE. It is not easy to use for people who are not tech savy.

      Hi Paola, thanks for your feedback. It’s possible that the Roku device picked up the wrong code for your TV upon setup. Try repairing the remote walking through the steps in this support article: https://support.roku.com/article/360011621473.

      Please be aware that if you are using private listening, it will typically drain the battery on your remote faster than when not being used. We recommend always unplugging your headphones when not in use as this will help extend your battery life.

      If you are not using private listening with your remote and are still experiencing issues with battery drain, we'd like to recommend an alternative power solution that may help. If the USB cable from your Streaming Stick is currently connected to the USB port on your TV, we would request that you connect the USB cable directly to a wall outlet or power strip.

    $49.99 Broke at one year. Last Roku lasted for many years. Got this new one 12/2021 at another big box that was closer to our home for around $@$
