It was an easy setup and TV control for power and volume, thereby reducing the need of a separate TV remote. She has an iPhone and it can mirror easily and I was pleasantly surprised with the ability to "cast" to it, similar to using my Chromecast we have on the family TV, so it's almost a two in one.

I prefer the ultra version but purchase this one for my daughter's 50, that is moderately used. This unit over heated and shut down when powered with the enclosed ac adapter an usb cable extension. After several attempts i plugged it directly into a usb jack on a Berkeley powerstrip, using the short usb cable, no extension. Only then did it stop overheating.

Perfect for older “non-smart” TV’s!

Roku interface is user friendly. Only complaint is that Roku does not include the DVI cable extender to accommodate plugging the stick into the back (vs. the side) of a wall-mounted TV. They will ship it to you free of charge upon request, but that’s poor customer service for such a low-cost item
