I was given great advice at the store about the advantages to purchasing the streaming stick + remote instead of buying just a replacement remote for an older model Roku device.

The Widest Variety of Channels available.

Roku system has by far the widest variety of free (with ads) channels and other free access to local news as well as nation news at no cost what soever. I am trying to unload xfinity unfortunately I am home phone and internet tied to them. I do not use their low level stations which don't even provide local channels.

Two things for cheaper than Roku remote alone!

But this product, the remote we needed PLUS the Roku - streaming stick, gave me TWO things for cheaper than the price of the remote alone! We were thrilled!

Necessary addition to my Insignia Fire tv.

Works like a charm on my Insignia Fire Tv so I can use stand alone PBS, Hulu, and BritBox apps not available on the Insignia platform - which is apparently an older model. Great picture and sound.
