The new Ultra 2024 is a noticeable improvement. It is faster. Picture quality is better. The Wi-Fi connections speeds are much higher. I was excited to see the Ultra 2024 is Wi-Fi 6. Unfortunately my router is 6E which means the Ultra 2024 does not connect to Wi-Fi 6. The good news is the 5G connection speeds are much faster than Ultra 2022. The improved picture quality is a nice surprise. It handles dark scenes better. Overall there appears to be better contrast. I highly recommend the Ultra 2024.

I find the new remote annoying though because you have to recharge it through an included USB cable; just one more cable to add to your nest of wires. You also have to "Accept" the agreement that Roku will be listening to you because of the built in Voice recognition aspect of the remote even if you don't use that "feature." But I appreciate that you can hardwire this Roku to your network with a LAN cable.

One key advantage is the elimination of constant battery swapping: a primary benefit of a rechargeable remote is that it eliminates the need to frequently replace disposable batteries. Additionally, to clarify: while voice features do require accepting the initial consent screen, hands-free voice can be turned off at any time using the switch on the side of the remote. Great upgrade from 2018 Roku Ultra

It has some interesting new features including not unloading apps so that if you switch to another app and then go back to original one, you pick up exactly where you left off.

The added ability to connect the 3rd party Wi-Fi devices giving the ability for high quality wireless audio. One minor negative is the lack of a numeric keypad on the remote requires the use of voice operations. Not all of the apps are the same and require speaking differently to some of them.

Navigation between apps and screens is seamless and without lag. The backlight and voice features on the remote are also very useful.

It has a lot of movies and other things you can watch with episodes. If you are considering streaming and canceling your cable service I would highly recommend.

This would necessitate a reboot to solve the issues. While this new version seems to function more smoothly, the same issues persist, though they occur less frequently. I'm hopeful that the ongoing firmware updates will help alleviate these annoyances. Overall, it's still an excellent player, and I would recommend it.

I saved a few bucks with a sale price. But mostly I wanted a streaming platform I was familiar with and Roku still seems to own the high ground as the de facto industry standard. If it ain't broken, why fix it? No complaints ... plus this rechargeable model ends battery compliants, a drawback from their previous tech.
