Almost the Best

Very capable player, if not one of the best. My only complaint is about the interface. It seems out of date. While not a deal breaker, I feel like a refreshed interface will help it differenciate from similar products such as the Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV. Probably the one feature that makes the Roku a favorable choice over the other two aforementioned devices is that it has the most "apps" (called Channels) to choose from. Having a larger pool of apps to choose from allows for almost any person to find something they would like to watch on screen.

Great for movies

You pay extra for current news, sports, and more, but college sports are usually free, and pro sports are shown later as just the highlights of each game. Easy sign in and set up. Good quality image, reasonable fast searching thru millions of films and old TV shows. Lots of ads, though. (I can't get local channels with a separate antenna due to being too far away from the Tampa transmitters). Yes, searching for a particular one is slow and a bit difficult. Overall it is great for those of us who rarely watch TV, but who like to surf on occasion.
