The Roku Ultra is the perfect future-proof streaming device. It has 4K, a MicroSD Card slot for expandable storage, and an Ethernet port. That means it has pretty much everything you will need now and in the near future so you can feel secure when you buy it. The menu system is simple but fast and easy to use. The Roku remote is known for being one of the better remotes. One other good thing about Roku devices in general is that they are not tied to a specific streaming provider. This means you won't constantly be spammed to subscribe or get notifications about one main streaming service. Overall you can't go wrong buying a Roku Ultra.

It has everything I need for home entertainment, plus it's constantly updated.

I've had Roku devices since the Roku 2. I bought the Ultra to replace a Roku 4 that had been acting up. Best decision! The Ultra is a speedy box! It's noticeably faster than anything else I've had. I've got it in the living room attached to my 4K HDR/3D TV. Love it!!

Three Roku units at the total cost of $160 replaced all the DVRs and satellite receivers that Dishnet has connected throughout my house and charged high rents for them. After the one-time investment on Roku, in addition to the freebees from Roku, I am getting all the live channels I need through YoutubeTV for $40 per month as opposed to $110 per month with Dishnet, without loosing any thing including picture-quality of channels. With one subscription to YoutubeTV, I can watch all the live channels, free movies and TV shows on as many TVs and other devices I want anywhere. Even the 4K quality videos are playing at 4K quality.

Been using Roku since v2 came out like forever ago. It was time to upgrade and purchased one ultra, then two more before I realized a significant issue that seems to be an interesting choice by the Roku team. If you turn off your TV (even with the Roku remote), the Roku will stream continuously and endlessly (ie: youtube, xfinity, etc) if it is not exited manually out of an app. This means if your TV's auto sleep or shutoff occurs, the Roku will continue to stream, maxing out your internet bill and in the case of Xfinity that can happen pretty quickly. With the ultra, powering it via USB is not an option as far as I know so it can't be powered down when the TV auto-shuts off. All I ask is that they put the option back in that was in older Roku's to auto-sleep after a selected time period of inactivity. Until then I would recommend using other streaming devices which do have the ability to auto-shut off.

Our Ultra is at least 6 years old. Glad to heat the latest model has a mute button..

The ROKU ultra is awesome! I can stream Netflix/Amazon/Comcast beta and all kinds of apps from this and its fast! There are tons of free channels that come with it and some are quite entertaining The quality is great, my old player had slow menus and buffering, even with same cable hook up no buffering and super fast menus Also has a SD card slot for who knows what i think it can record Well worth $100 and with the sale the guest room gets one, i might order another for my neighbor its so awesome

I got this during the Black Friday Sale, to replace an aging Apple TV. I've been using strictly Apple TV for several years, but couldn't see the benefit in the cost to go to 4K. With the Roku, the screen colors pop, and I love the fact you need only 1 remote (it controls my Sony TV). I didn't really use iTunes that much, so my digital movies using Movies Anywhere moved over nicely. For essentially 1/3 the cost of an Apple TV 4k, I'm loving this.

I got this for an Xmas gift yesterday. I was using the streaming stick + until then. I am amazed at the clarity and speed of this device. The local BB has this on sale still. This device blows away anything out there by the competition. If you want the best device, for the Best price, do not hesitate until they are all gone.

Big improvement is speed over my older roku 3.. easy to organize apps and add new ones

I bought this only 2 months after purchasing a Roku Premiere on Amazon. My Premiere was having horrible audio issues, meaining the audio would go on and off. The only solution was to pause and restart the movie/TV show. Very irritating. However, I am happy to report the my new Roku Ultra (2018 model) is working wonderfully, and the picture is amazing. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Roku makes a great streaming device. Plenty of content and extensive channel lists. The device is fast. It’s easy to setup and has all the top apps…Amazon prime video…Netflix..Hulu and so many others. This device is a cord cutters dream.
