Best of the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an Apple TV box and a Chromecast box in a drawer somewhere. Apple is too limited and Chromecast is too irritating to try to use. Roku never had those issues. They offer apps for more than all other boxes combined, and many apps that are totally free (movies, tv, etc.). You would have a hard time exhausting all the free channels before you would ever had to purchase any subscriptions if you chose. I already had Amazon Prime. I bought into that for the two day shipping and generally cheaper prices. Didn’t bother with movies and videos for a while, and now find we use it more than half the time. Prime video app works great. We also have a Tablo DVR (for our 20+ antenna channels). Tablo app works great. With Roku, we “cut the cord” with cable tv. For a fraction of that cost I added a streaming service, philo. Philo offers two packages: 44 Chanel’s for $15.99 or 57 channels for $19.99, along with a good guide and free unlimited cloud dvr. And these are almost all the “good” channels you would chose, not mostly fillers! Roku gives us the ability to collect all these programs in one place and send them to our tv. We no longer have to change inputs on tv and keep up with different remotes. Add a Roku to each tv and you are set. Yes you do need Internet service and a home router. Your TVs don’t have to be “smart TVs.” They just need to have an hdmi input. Any Roku will work. We chose the ultra units because they offer total control they will eliminate the need to also use the tv remote. The ultra will turn your tv on and off and control the volume as well. They also come with ear buds that can be plugged into the Roku remote. It will automatically turn off tv sound and you can listen without disturbing others. Best of the best! Totally independent review!

Roku Ultra Rocks ... Suppliments Apple 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HDR screen may even be clearer than A4K. It’s fast and lost never ending variety of channels. Also, appears to hide location metadata better than A4K. Love its remote and private listening jack. Only, wish one could see mini snap shots of video during fast forwards. After glass smashed on two (2) Apple remotes after failing on floor before buying third party remote covers ... Same won’t occur on Roku. Five Stars! * * * * *

Excellent Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent value for the price. The JBL headphones are added incentives. This is much faster than the previous Rokus I have had. If you have a 4K tv, then this should be in your repertoire. The remote is a smart one and you can set it up to control your TV quite easily. The headphone jack that connects to the remote helps you to watch TV when the baby is sleeping in the other room. Great value, overall for under 50 bucks.

Best Box for Streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already have one and bought this one for my parents. I was surprised to see that this one is even better than the one i have. The remote control now also works to power on and off the TV as well as adjust the volume. Roku by far has these easiest interface and user friendly design. The bluetooth remote does not require you to point it at the box and the lost remote feature is a godsend!!! Love the Roku products

Excellent Roku Ultra
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Roku before the newest one that supports Dolby Vision came out. Its on a Samsung TV(that also doesn’t support Dolby Vision). Its excellent. Fast, easy to use, has every app available and everything looks excellent. Even before Roku started supporting DV I muched preferred it to Apple TV.

Great upgrade from 3500 stick.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old 3500 Roku stick was showing it's age. Buffering, being slow. Got the Roku Ultra 4 to replace. Difference is night and day. No buffering, loads so much faster. Great headphones for not bothering anyone who's sleeping. I got it on sale but worth it at retail price. Also does not get hot like a stick will.

We Are a Roku Everywhere House
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Roku started the smart tv "add on box" market many years ago and they keep getting better. The picture and features of the Roku Ultra are amazing. The remote with headphone option is perfect for late night viewing. All of the apps such as Netflix, PLex, Amazon work with the push of a button. 4k is worth every penny!

Excellent media streaming player with 4K support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent 4K media streaming player. It offers all the options for high quality video output such as 4K, HDR, and HDR10. It supports HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2. It has an ethernet connection in addition to dual band WiFi so you can get a more stable internet connection if your wifi signal where you're installing this player is a bit weak. Another cool feature is the IR/RF remote. It has an RF remote which means you don't need to have a direct line of sight to the player in order to control it. So you can store the unit in a closet or drawer close to the TV and the remote will still work perfectly. The remote also incorporates IR so it can also be used to control your TV (power on/off and volume up/down), therefor eliminating the need for 2 remotes. One last feature of Roku players is compatibility. Roku OS is known to have the most widespread compatibility amongst all media streaming platforms (compared to Apple TV, Fire TV and Chromecast). This means that whatever app or channel or streaming service you use, it will most likely have a roku version of its app.

Awesome - So much better than Smart TV Software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku Ultra is awesome. It is so much faster and more responsive than the "Smart" software built into the TV. The remote is super easy to use (even in the dark because of the intuitive layout), and the picture quality is superb. Never crashes, never buffers, always just works. Very happy with purchase.

I love how I can hit a button on the box to locate the remote. It rings like a bell. The jbl headphones are awesome. This roku has all the apps a person could ask for.

Great streaming box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Roku built into my TCL smart tv. I have been using it for about 2 years now and I love it. But I was having problems with the built-in Roku on my TV and my Harmony Elite. This was not a Roku problem, but a Harmony/TCL problem. When switching between the Tivo (either OTA or DVR) and the built-in Roku, I would lose video or audio, or the Denon would end up on the wrong input. Harmony worked with it and couldn't see any problem with the configuration. I all worlds, it should have worked. I have quite a few devices in my system, and it only happened with the TCL/built-in Roku combination So I bought this device and modified my Harmony and now it all works great. Plus, this device reacts faster than the built-in Roku on my TV. The free streaming services and 4K content make this an outstanding box in my opinion. I have streaming services built into my TV, DVD, and Tivo, but I use this Roku to do all of my streaming, and it works great.

ROKU ULTRA ROCKS!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love this device. Blows away my Apple 3rd Gen TV. Apple spins Netflix trying to load but ROKU has immediate response loading. Voice search a big plus. Tons of free channels with John Wayne being a favorite. Their remote allows you to hook up 3.5mm headphones to it but this drains remote batteries quickly. However using ROKU App you can opt to listen thru your phone and then use Bluetooth headphones or earbuds or wired headphones or buds too!! I use this late nights instead of surround sound system. I’ve bought 3 of these now sending daughter one at college. Her roommates and her love it too! Got mine on sale at BB for $69.99 vs. regular $99.99 price. One thing to watch is if you leave device on channel that constantly streams vs a movie you’ll use a lot of data. I just use home button and then loads screensaver after a while. I used 400GB in about 10 days with Weather Channel left on.

Best streamer ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have 3 different streaming devices and the Roku is hands down the best. 10xs better than Chromecast, which isn't even in the same league as other available streaming devices. My Apple TV is sleeker looking and the remote is a piece of art. Having said that the Apple's interface isn't as intuitive and for all it's great looks the Apple remote sucks. I hate it and my wife hates it. The slightest touch has it accessing stuff you don't want and doesn't respond when you want it to. The Roku's remote is straight forward and a joy to use. The Ultra is preloaded with useful app's and adding more is super easy. Besides being super easy to use it has a lot of options to hook it up. It has an Ethernet port if you want to hard wire it instead of using wifi. Comes with a great set of JBL headphones and is fairly inexpensive (compared to Apple). You really can't go wrong with the Roku Ultra as it does everything right.

Love this Roku
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this version of Roku. The picture is crystal clear. Definitely streaming in 4K. The image from this Roku looks better than the image from our cable box. (Btw, both TVs are 4K.) The controller has volume control and the ability to turn the TV on and off.

Very easy to set up and use!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace an aging Firestick. It was very easy to set up. It has proven to be much faster than our old Firestick and we found the interface to be very easy to navigate. Easy to set up multiple links to sources of free streaming content.

Perfect Media Streamer!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought to replace an old Roku that was becoming too slow and because my Panasonic TV was no longer supporting Netflix updates. This little box is very fast, provides 4k context, and has JBL headphones for local listening. So cool!

Pretty Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a Roku since they first came out. I needed to upgrade mine because the sling app wasn't compatible due to the age of my original Roku. I had the app on my Roku, however I was having a lot of issues with it not playing the shows, or constantly going off line. After a little bit of research, and speaking with an associate on the floor at Best Buy, I bought this Roku. The speed of this new one is great. I haven't had any issues with Sling, or any other apps since setting up this Roku. I like how the remote also controls the volume on my television. The set up was easy to do, and I was able to transfer my apps from the old one to the new one with no issues. I still haven't quite figured everything on the remote out, but it works for what I need and I am very happy. It was definitely worth the purchase.

Excellent Product, can't go wrong
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have used Roku players for the last (guessing) 10 years when we stopped paying for cable TV. All together we have 5 in our home, some very old by now. This latest (at the time of purchase) Roku player is just that much better then the last. Its fast, great picture quality, great remote. What more can I say? We are a Roku family and have used them for I guess a decade now and each version seems to get better. Never had one fail, the very first one we had I think eventually became outdated but that was a long time ago and rightfully so with all the advancements. We never ever had a day where we wished we had traditional pay TV since the day we cut the cord roughly 10 years ago. Roku is the player to have, period.
