Locking Up

Useless after 1yr

Actually the problems started six months in, it would get super hot and constantly restart or shut down or lock my tv screen and render it useless unless the roku was unplugged from the power outlet. Now it just doesn't respond at all. Super disappointed and do not recommend a product with such a short life span

The WORST Roku I EVER Owned!

Sometimes in YouTube TV and Philo the player will Freeze Up/ Crash when Fast Forwarding or Rewinding, the 2020 Roku Ultra will Eventually Reboot itself back to the main menu! I feel like Roku RUSHED the New Ultra out to market to do ANYTHING to make profits and money! I’ll NEVER buy another Roku EVER AGAIN!!

Good luck with the HDCP error.

Experiencing Error Code 020 HDCP error and Roku support is no help. I can browse through the device fine and when I try to ply content that dumb error comes up. HOW IS THERE NO FIX FOR THIS YET! Support wanted me to pay for shipping for a device they couldn’t troubleshoot, yea I’m good. Would not recommend this device at all.

If you are using the HDMI ARC port on your TV, check the TV settings and make sure ARC and related features are enabled. If ARC is not turned on, your TV will not pass audio back correctly to your soundbar.

Does not work with New Sony X-900h/90ch

When I had issues with the first one... took it back and got it exchanged for another one... but the new device also had the same problem.... after many emails with Roku tech support.... they finally said... the Sony TV and the Roku device might not be compatible.

The ROKU remote will not pair with my Samsung smart tv and allow the set up to continue. I may have a defective unit and will be either returning or exchanging. I have contacted ROKU customer service via their chat, but they were not able to assist past what I already tried. It would be nice if they had a phone number contact for customer service.

Sometimes, performing a system restart on the player can resolve this. Other times, you might need to uninstall and reinstall the affected channels, check the status of your wireless connection, or contact the channel's service provider. Freezes several times a night

Impossible to use. This occurs specially when fast forwarding on ATT TV and Netflix. No help on their web site. Only bought it because Sony Bravia do not have the ATT TV app. Sony is a problem with apple products as well. Returning this and can't wait to get rid of the Sony TV

Lemon

I set it up on Wednesday. It worked Wednesday evening and Thursday. It went out on Friday. I had to return it. Not sure if I'm going to try roku again or go to different brand.

Roku Ultra fails after 3 months of use

The lights come on and flash for a minute then off again, I had a friend who has same unit and he lent me the power adaptor and it did not resolve the issue. Now I realized that Roku has a credit card as part of registration so I am going to cancel my Roku acct and find a quality device to use for streaming

The problem is it makes the tv picture dark and colors look off when using it. There is no way to adjust picture on Roku. Turn Roku off and go back to tv picture looks great. Spent $80 on it, should have just got a chrome cast for $36 and streamed from phone.

Usually, you can reset your password right from your Roku device or usuing your phone/laptop. This is probably the best option to get you logged back in.

Bad product.

The email received was supposedly from Roku. After doing some on line research, we found that this happens frequently. Roku does nothing to try to resolve the disputed charges. We went to our credit card company for resolution instead.

Dont buy for broadcast channels.

We have local access to EZ Video, which until recently was Roku accessible. For some (monetary) reason, Roku has removed this capability, thus rendering my purchase (as well as many in our area) useless. Greedy Roku apparently trying to squeeze out more cash.

This one a lemon, another one ok.

I returned it. That said, I have the same system elsewhere and it works fine. Go figure. Things are not made well these days; toss of the coin which one you get.
