Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Ultra Streaming Device's ease of use, picture quality, and remote control. Many appreciate the inclusion of a headphone jack and Dolby Vision, along with the device's 4K capabilities and smooth performance. The user-friendly interface and straightforward setup are also frequently praised. A common concern, however, centers around the remote's battery life.

The only remaining family of streaming devices that allow you to maintain your privacy. For the price the top end device is on a par with Apple and NVIDIA offerings. You pay a fair price and do not have to continue paying by supplying them with all of your family's personal information. One of the better if not best user interfaces. You also get free content unlike all of the others. Build quality and specifications are very good combined with a reasonable price. Heck I got mine on sale so less than half the price of the Amazon, Apple and NVIDIA offerings.

This version is excellent! I personally sought this one instead of rechargeable remote. Otherwise hardware is the same. The best Uktra I have owned! No crash issues.

This is really easy to setup pretty straight forward. You have the power cord,HDMI cable and the option to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or ethernet. I chose ethernet, since there too many devices already using Wi-Fi. If you want local channels you can use an antenna. I tried that works okay, but reception quality wasn't there. There is an alternative an app called Locast. The only draw back is a commercial that pops up at any given time wanting you to do a monthly (they call it a donation) fee of $5.99. If you can over look that, its better than an antenna. It can get just as expensive as cable. The good thing is you pay for what you want. There are a lot of free channels to choose from. You can spend a lot of time channel surfing. Along with all the movies, TV programs, and special interests programs there are music channels that are free. In the end I am satisfied with this product.

This Roku works great. I love all the channel options. It is very easy to install and set up. The set top box is small and practically unnoticeable. I went for this model because of the Ethernet possibility in case or spotty WiFi becomes spot-ier. I haven’t set it up that way but I like having the option. Right now no problems with reception. Plus I got it on sale and added reward points so I got it for the premium price. I was a little disappointed that the Roku Live TV wasn’t live majors or local tv but there are plenty of ways around that with streaming and antenna. On our way to cutting the cable!

I prefer the ROKU setup instead of using my tvs app hub. It’s much faster, fluid, and easier to navigate. Also, I recommend getting this one instead of the Roku sticks. I got this for my mom because she had the Roku sticks and she found that it was constantly buffering. She is by herself and lives in a 1,000 sqft house with fast internet. I previously thought that I would have to get a faster router but I bought this to try it instead and she has no issues. You really do get what you pay for

The Roku Ultra (2020) works great. We got this version because hardwired it to our network with CAT 6 network cable and this version also Apple AirPlay. Our old Roku box was working but did not have AirPlay capability. Purchased with Black Friday prices and would definitely purchase this again. We have great luck with Roku. We even have a few TCL televisions with Roku built in! The Roku user interface is so easy to understand. The apps are easy to install and use. Great work Roku NOTE: HBOMax is not yet supported on Roku. Not sure why, but hopefully HBO and Roku work this out soon.

    Cord Cutter's Must Have

I did a lot of research on which streaming device to purchase when cutting cable, and the Roku came out the clear winner for me based on the following: 1) The Apple TV is nice (I own one) and a close call if you have deep pockets and an Apple Ecosystem. 2) The Amazon Fire TV is just too creepy to own given the level of intrusion that Alexa has if you don't keep it muted and tweak the settings. The specs of all three are pretty similar but the speed, UI, and reliability of the Roku made it an easy purchase. I now own two, and have relegated my Apple TV to the basement.

    Roku Ultra, best Roku yet

We have several Roku's. I think it is the best streaming device out there. I also have an Amazon fire, like the Roku so much more. Just so easy to navigate through and install all your streaming apps. My husband is not a fan of all the new technology, and he can even navigate through everything. I bought this because our new tv has Dolby vision although I don't think I've seen any Dolby Vision content yet, still trying to learn about it. One of the best things with this new model is the screensaver which I like to have on all the time, its beautiful fish swimming around and the colors are so vivid.

I had all the apps I needed on my LG TV - or so I thought, until I discovered Kanopy - which had a catalogue of movies unimaginable in Netflix, or Prime or any of the regular movie channels. A quick research showed that the Roku had all the features that I needed, including the Kanopy app, in addition to all the standard ones. The Good. I get all my apps/channels in one device - with a basic interface that is fairly easy to use. The Not-so-good. My sound is through an older Onkyo surround receiver, which does not do the HDMI-CEC business too well, so I cannot use the Roku remote to control both the TV and the Onkyo. Fortunately I have the Harmony 665 which can command all three - and more. The bottom line: Quite happy with the Roku Ultra. (I wanted the Ultra for the hardwired ethernet connection). However, the remote control could be better - maybe more like the Google Chromecast remote.

Ultra is great improvement over overheating Stick

We purchased this as a replacement for our Roku stick, which had begun glitching out, probably due to overheating so close to the back of our TV. So far, the Ultra is working great and there's enough distance from the Ultra to our TV that we don't fear more overheating problems. Definitely an improvement over the Stick and I like how, if you've already created a Roku account, it automatically imports all your saved channels to the new device. Just wish it imported them in the order I originally had them. I had to spend a lot of time moving them around.

What can I say, it's a Roku. Easy setup. Simple to use. I had two smart TV's with Roku built in, but wanted to access some streaming content that was not available on my LG OLED TV's built in apps. This Roku device solved the problem. When I realized I needed this to access Discovery Plus, I drove to my local BB store, purchased the device (two actually) and was watching 4K streaming content an hour later. Using wired ethernet to connect the Roku to the internet. I have a fast FIOS connection. Never a sputter or any buffering. It just works. Highly recommended.

I have tried many streaming players including new Apple TV 4K thanks to crappy Samsung OS on my TV. This Rolu ultra plays same quality videos in almost 1/3rd of the price of Apple TV. I have a Fire TV 4K but stopped using that as I don’t want to give my data to Google and Amazon. Roku is in business of hardware not advertising so that is a logical choice. I got it on sale as I was eying it for few months. Money well spent I just love my new TV. Now I just need a better sound from my TV but for now I connect a pair of headphones. It has never hanged so far.

    HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos capabilities

I bought a Roku Streaming Stick+ for my second TV a while back and was looking to add a Roku to my main system. After Roku added HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos capabilities to the Roku Ultra 2020, I planned to get one the next time they went on sale. The price dropped to $69 and I pulled the trigger. All the apps I had installed on the Roku Steaming Stick+ installed on the Ultra 2020 without any problems. The Dolby Atmos works on Netflix, and the HDR10+ works on Paramount Plus. HDR10+ does not work on Prime Video as of this writing, but it does work on my Amazon Fire Stick 4K. I hooked up the Ethernet connection and plugged in a USB stick with 4K videos on it, and they worked fine. This is the Roku to add to a main home theater system with Dolby Atmos, and HDR10+ capabilities. It also does Dolby Vision, but my Samsung TV does not support that..
