Highly functional for the price

Turns out my fairly high-end LG OLED TV that was only a few years old couldn't run some newer apps, so I was faced with potentially buying a new TV. This little box fixed the problem and let me keep the still-fantastic OLED screen for a while longer. They have some good streaming content available if you dig a bit, and it pulls all of the various streaming services all into one box and makes it convenient. Beats using the apps on the "smart" TV overall.

My older model was constantly buffering. And, I can also watch shows on Apple TV + on this without having to mirror off my iPhone. It’s nice to have everything from one device at my fingertips. And, best thing about this, I don’t have to be afraid that someone will buy shows accidentally on this device as guests would tend to do while flipping through apps. Cons CC menu needs improvement in accessing

Upgraded to the 2020 Ultra

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We found the Roku - Ultra 2020 version to be significantly better in terms of WiFi reception compared to the Roku Streaming Stick we had been using for the TV furthest from our router. We've seen no buffering delays or difficulties in connecting to the home network since purchasing the new Ultra. The two custom buttons are minor conveniences as they don't let us load specific programs but they are a nice addition to the controls, as is the mute button.
