Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the Ultra Streaming Device's ease of use, picture quality, and remote control. Many appreciate the inclusion of a headphone jack and Dolby Vision, along with the device's 4K capabilities and smooth performance. The user-friendly interface and straightforward setup are also frequently praised. A common concern, however, centers around the remote's battery life.

Roku is the best streaming device
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Roku streaming media player. I have one of these in multiple rooms in my house. Very easy to setup and you can download any streaming service out there. Most are preloaded but I even found several obscure apps I assumed I would have to access through an internet browser. Remote is super easy to setup. I would strongly recommend this deice over any other streaming device as it gives ultimate flexibility. You can often find on sale at which point it's a no-brainer.

Nice upgrade from previous version.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has been my favorite streaming device and I've tried them all. Only drawback is no HBO Max yet. ATMOS is supported, which is a new requirement for me. Picture quality has been great. Remote remains the best option.

Great interface, questionable hardware
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the ROKU interface and remote. Definitly easiest to use of the smart streamers and great value. However, this paticiliar model the "ultra" we have had issues with it overheating. You can not power it off or reset without unplugging the device. Wish there was an on off switch and with it would turn off to conserve power over time. When it's running it works well but I'd say once a week it just locks up and requires a restart.

Great product for extra tv viewing.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is easy to set up and connect with your TV. I use ours all the time to watch Netflix, Disney and Prime but there are others programed on it also. The ear phone jack that is built into the remote comes in handy so I can watch tv and the sound does not disturb the kids while they are doing homework or sleeping. I have had some problems with it not connecting to our internet so be sure to have it placed somewhere that you have a good signal. (not inside your TV cabinet)

Used to be better.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It used to be better. Pros: Broadcasts in 4K. Picture and sound are on par. Cons: The newer model is lacking in some features that were available in previous models. Older model offered a pretty cool fish tank screensaver. Newer version offers one, but the clarity of the older one blows the newer version away. Trouble in some apps while pausing. Black screen showing paused but video keeps playing in the background. Have to exit out of the app, then restart to get back to where you paused. I realize that this is probably an app thing and not the roku its self, but this is running through the roku. Roku should look into the apps developed for its platform and make sure it's a smooth running representation.

Wow!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In 2019, I purchased a new Sony TV and Soundbar. Since my 2017, ROKU Premiere + had all the “right” capabilities: 4K, Ultra HD, HDR, I figured it would work fine. As expected my new Sony, which replaced a 10 yr old TV, was a big improvement. The ROKU Ultra, promised all that plus Dolby Vision Atmos. Given the favorable reviews, I made the upgrade. Incredible improvement in all areas, picture and sound. Moral, if your ROKU predates your TV, you should upgrade. I’m amazed at the improvement.

Happy - Relatively inexpensive system enhancement.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been pretty happy with the Roku. Had been using Chomecast dongle to cast ESPN, TNT and NBA to my TV (no HD cable here), but they often lagged. Watched a couple games on TNT last night, only had a couple times where the picture was replaced by the spinner and I had to reset it. Picture quality quite good (TV reports Dolby Vision signal). Sound quality quite good (Receiver reports Dolby Digital +). Easy to use. I've taken to using it for services that are built into other components like YouTube and Spotify, which I had not expected to do, so I'm happy with it. Relatively inexpensive system enhancement.

Great streaming device
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love all the Rou devices they're so easy to use and once you have your roku account setup it's very easy to setup new ones I have several this one is very good I like the features and everything I bought this one to go with my harmony remote and home theater system I just bought a 4k projector and it pairs with it nicely very easy and all my apps popped up on my harmony remote so that was nice. All and all Roku does a great job making everything simple and easy to use.

Roku Box and Remote
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku box and remote were key for us cutting the cord and moving to Hulu for TV and having many options for streaming. Setup was easy, the remote is very simple, and after a month or so works very well. I miss a channel or two we had on our cable package, but not enough to add those back and pay a premium for them. Would recommend this approach if you like your TV that isn’t a “Smart TV” as a way to cut the cord and save a few bucks. Payback in about 2 months for us.

Nice upgrade from my old Roku
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Roku worked great for many years, but I decided to upgrade when I got a 4K projector (well, “faux K”). This Roku looks great, plays great, and feels sturdier than my old one. The remote is nice, it controls my A/V receiver volume, and the headphone jack is handy, too. Haven’t had any playback issues, and it streams 4K content well over WiFi. (My projector doesn’t do Dolby Vision, so I can’t comment on that aspect.) Very pleased with the upgrade.

So many Ultra, much quicker times
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice software under the hood. Full HDR support and as up-to-date a Roku steamer you're gonna find right now. Upgraded from the Roku 2018 which was also a great for its day. Build quality has taken a few steps back imo. The case is lighter and feels cheaper with its matte finish and new shape. Th remote also has a costs-cut vibe to it. Don't get me wrong, it's still very nice but having owned and Ultra before you'll be able to tell. Performance is good so far and noticeably quicker loading times are appreciated - no need for the micro SD from previous generations. Overall a great player and a decent upgrade from our last Ultra.

Good but Streaming Sticks are less glitchy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast but a bit glitchy. Sometimes I have to unplug to reset, particularly with YouTubeTV app to restore functionality. I don't have any such issues with the Roku Streaming Sticks I have on other TVs.

Stop shopping and buy this one.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I needed another device, I'd buy this again, without alternate considerations. I like the wired LAN very much, over wireless, which, in my house, has too many RFI issues. Plugging earbuds into the remote is a neat option too. The Roku onscreen interface is well-done as well. If I may suggest for future iterations, let's have a direct 0-9 keypad on the remote.

Excellent Upgrade to the standard Roku
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was a breeze but it was a little bit of a time commitment. Expect to spend 15-30 minutes if this is your first Roku device. However, once the setup was complete, everything worked flawlessly. It was especially nice to have the Roku detect my TV and set up the picture and remote settings automatically. The wi-fi performance and speed of loading seem to be much better than an old Roku stick I have.
