Bought the Roku thinking it had more to offer. Turns out most of the available channels need a cable or satellite subscription. Bought it to loose satellite subscription but that is needed to get the full benefits of the Roku.

It works as advertised, but when playing Atmos soundtracks, loud popping and cracking sounds occur. I have not figured out why yet. A Google search shows I'm not the only one who has experienced this.

Picture good. Audio not so good. Frequent freezes. Difficult to change channels on Direct TV Now. Frequent "buffering", I have 100mb speed. Lip sync issues. Improvements are slow to come by.

This box offers similar features like AppleTV, Firestick, etc. I prefer the AppleTV interface instead. The plus here is the 4K capabilities for streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.

I've owned this ultra for more than 6 months. It is a user friendly product that has problems. Every night when we turn it on, it appears to work, then reboots itself. Very annoying.

I'm mostly happy with this box. It freezes and has the occasional hiccups but what is killing me is the spotify app is garbage. If not for that is be more than happy with this unit.

I've had a few Roku models over the years. This one is good but failed after a month. The unit stopped displaying video only a white screen. I'm returning to exchange for another.

I purchased this Roku Ultra a few yesterday and when I got home and tried to set it up, I realized that it did not come with an HDMI cord which is the ONLY way it can be plugged into a TV. I went back to Best Buy and purchased an HDMI cord for $10. When I got back home I plugged it in and attempted to watch a show on Amazon prime only to get an error about some HDCP. My TV is a 9000 series Samsung purchased in November 2016 so I knew that that couldn't be the issue. I went back to the store and exchanged the HDMI cord but I got the same error. I went back to the store and exchanged the cord for a much more expensive premium cord but still got the same error. I don't know what to do anymore. I did some research online and it seems like Roku has known about this issue since at least May of 2017 but they still have not fixed the issue. The only fix they have online is to buy a more expensive HDMI cord which I already have.

The UI is not so friendly but if you know what you are looking for it is ok. Sometimes it req numerous button presses to launch something, no sure if its my unit or what.

Roku is okay but it hangs/crashes quite frequently. Also looses connection to internet. Roku probably needs to spend some on the software and fix the stability issues.

I’ve been using streaming devices for years. I like Apple TV, but hate the remote. I moved up to the Roku 4, and subsequently the Roku Ultra because of the HD/4K support. Now, I’ve gotten beyond frustrated with having to reboot the system every time I use it. They used to have an option within the software to shut down and then it would start when you touch the remote. Now it just sits there saying “no signal”... every time! When it works, it’s fine. If only it would work.

I have not used my Roku as of yet. I was told that it would be easier to navigate my remote but haven't found it necessary to use as I haven't screened any movies.

We have had this roku ultra for less than 2 years. Bought it because at the time the streaming service we wanted wasnt compatible with our old roku. Have had ongoing issues with dropping connection even though hard wired. Now the picture goes blurry. Yet my much older roku 1 works perfectly even though it is wireless. Save your money and buy the less expensive version. This one doesn't really offer anything to make it worth the difference.

The worst part was the headphones plugged into the remote. The bluetooth was constantly going in and out and staticky. Ended up with an Apple tv and much happier.

While the device seemed to work well - and the 4K HDR content is beautiful -- there seems to be something about these RoKu units that wreak havoc on home WiFi. I heard about this issue with the RoKu 3, but figured it had been fixed. Nonetheless, I've had network problems ever since I installed it, even though I have it direct wired. It is now unplugged. Perhaps I'm wrong on this, but it will remain unplugged until I can figure this out.

I was skeptical about making the switch to Roku, but it's great so far. The option to record is why I chose this model. No complaints.

With 4k the device crackles alot, we switched it to our regular TV in the bedroom and no crackle sounds. Works great!!

I purchased this with great expectations. I was cutting the cord and was looking for an alternative. I chose the Roku device for ease of operation and reviews. boy was i wrong. most of the roku apps will only work if you already have cable. Not good as I cut my cable. also the remote was terrible. It comes and goes when it pleases. I moved this to a spare bedroom and purchased an Amazon fire tv. Love it...

Unfortunately didn't work with my 8yr old Sony Bravia. Should check deeper if it will work on your TV.

It didn’t work with my receiver that I had. I returned and tried a diff device.
