I purchased this because the Roku premier broke, 2 x. So I figured the best one would work, the best. Worked well for about 2 weeks. Now it randomly turn itself off, randomly resets my login information, screen will randomly flash black (which I have to try and reset through the settings, or unplug, depending on frequency of the black flashes). Those are just the big issues with it. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Purchasing the recently released Roku 4 Ultra player, I found that I could connect with Netflix, Amazon, et al, but that the TWC app timed out after about 15 minutes. The screen would darken, but the audio continued. Going on line I found this was a problem for others, as well. Returned the device to Best Buy since its intended purpose was to avoid the TWC set-up box, but failed to do so with consistency.

Bought the Roku, but wasn't compatible with some of the other apps we use. Bought Fire TV and have been very happy with it

My device freezes up daily and has to be shut down and turned back on to continue using. Very inconvenient and annoying.

Tried to hook up & function with Sling Box, No Luck. Result was to purchase Apple TV. No luck with tech support.

It's average.. but I was unable to stream the 4K resolution through my long cabling in my theater room..

It was with a delate in the caption, with almost all the movies including apps...

i thought I was buying the Roku 4660R, it wasn’t till another one was bought in the house that I discovered the difference. I’m. disappointed in this sale and wouldn’t buy from them again. I wanted a top of the line Roku now, I’m stuck with this junk. And it is junk. I’ve had trouble since day one.

Waste of time if you have smart tv. Plus the hgtv package is a rip off

It's exactly the same with the older generation. Same problems too.

I really do not like the Roku I prefer the NVidia shield

This device is SUPER easy to use. The fact that it will search for the wifi signal automatically is such a relief. I think that's one of the things that I dread most about smart devices. Sometimes it is just impossible to get it to connect seamlessly. Then for the adding channels and Apps for customization it was a breeze, my sister is tech illiterate and has issue with wireless printing and she was even able to to set this up! I've used Chromecast and Apple Tvs Gen 1 and 2 and the Roku is the best option for all users, and it conveniently has a remote included which you will NOT get with the Chromecast. I also enjoy the fact that it has the headphone port on the remote, when my kids go to sleep and I finally have a chance to catch up on my shows I can easily use the headphone instead of hoping my lip reading skills are on point or dreading CC. So all in all I love it!

Have never had as much trouble with a piece of consumer AV equipment as I have had with this thing. Regret buying it. Roku keeps sending out FW updates which fix one thing and break two others .Extrememly frustrating.

I was exited yo buy this so i could use sling tv but after setting it up sling tv, netflix, and youtube was very slow. It would continuously buffering and that was with verizon fios at 300mbs internet speed.

I've owned several Apple TV units, including the latest generation. Glitches, issues with holding internet connection, and the lack of Amazon access, led me to the purchase of this Roku Ultra. BEAUTIFUL interface, love the ability to pick a theme, and I LOVE getting a 4K picture. Even though the remote is larger than that of the Apple TV, it does make it a lot easier to use, and does not fall between the couch cushions the way the Apple remote does. I also love being able to listen to tv over headphones connected to the remote. Such a great idea! Tons of apps, tons of ways to watch what you want, and just a great user interface. Probably will get another one to replace the older Apple TV that my parents have. Just a superior product, with a better remote.

I have had the new Roku Ultra for a couple days now, and this unit is simply awesome! It is sooo quick and smooth with none of the problems that the Roku 4 had. Including having to reset the Roku 4 several times a week. There is no lag at all whatsoever. You hit the button, and it happens...period! I'm also very glad they moved the remotes ok button to the middle of the directional pad. The Roku 4's remote was absolutely horrid! I couldn't be happier with the Roku Ultra!

No way to recommend this as a third party device for Spectrum service. Ended up hard wiring all TV connections. Headache.

If you already have a Roku don't waste your money with this model you wont notice a difference… Wish I didn't buy it…

Having had my Roku Ultra for some time now, I'm sold! This was my first streaming device. I decided to cut the cable slowly by replacing a cable box with this device (coupled w/ Sling TV) to see how I liked it. Well, I'm counting down the days I have left on my cable contract. There are a few quirks from time to time - some movies won't load and/or Error sign, sometimes it loads as a zoomed-in, cropped screen rather than letterbox, and sometimes the device itself will freeze - and this is why I gave it 4 stars. When this happens, I simply reboot and 80% of the time all is well. The other 20%, I think it's more a problem on Sling's part. I thoroughly like this device and I'm currently contemplating getting a second one. I purchased this along with a good HDMI cable, and when using the Roku device we will have up to four other devices using our WiFi as well...haven't had any lag time/quality issues yet (but do check your internet speed before you purchase!). I have not tried this with a surround sound speaker system, so no info on that point. Linked apps (Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, etc) all stream nicely. Other notes: Remote finder has been a LIFESAVER! Voice search is nice (just speak clearly), and the Roku phone app works great w/ the device too.
