Minimal wetness. Worked great. Carpets look clean.

This carpet cleaner was purchased after our Hoover carpet cleaner was beyond repair- 10 Years after we bought it. This upright Rug Doctor worked great the first few times we used it. Since we have pets, we would have to spray out the excess animal hair (we do vacuum before every time we clean the carpets). Well, in addition to the fact that we noticed water leaking out of the wheel areas, suction became minimal. I noticed there was quite a bit of dog hair and dirt built up near the bristles. When I went to try and clean this out, I soon realized that the bottom plastic piece can’t be removed. SAY WHAT?! I don’t know what kind of design this is and to be honest, I never thought to even look. Who makes a carpet cleaner where you can’t remove parts to thoroughly clean it out? I emailed Rug Doctor about this and they confirmed, “No, that piece can not be removed but you can wrap a wash cloth around a ruler to get up in there to remove the excess hair.” We only bought this 6 months ago and I just went online this morning and bought myself another Hoover. Don’t waste your time with this carpet cleaner if you have pets.

I've has to clean up two major staines. Dried pet urine that we didn't notice because of where it was done , and dried blood from the same pet. This machine did a great job. Now if it would just make the pet dissappear.

I have already used this to clean downstairs carpets and it did a great job. The major difference to get used to compared to commercial rug doctor is the clean water and waste water only holds a gallon so requires filling and emptying several times for medium to large size room.

This thing did an awesome job cleaning my carpets from the messes kid have made. I wish there was a better way to clean it when done, but still a 5 star product because of the price to buy vs the price to keep renting these rug doctors.

This is by far the best carpet cleaner I ever got. I used to think that with the last carpet cleaner I had was doing a good job, till I got the rug doctor. It's better in scrubbing and picking up the water. By far the best I ever had . Would recommend

My wife and I were looking for an alternative to renting carpet cleaners, we found a great replacement. It gets dirt out of the carpet well and doesn't leave a lot of water in the carpet.

Works very well and cleans as promisses, a little heavy. Would be better if clean water reservoir was twice as big. Dirty water can handle almost 3 times more water. Current volume is enough for a 3 seats sofa. A 1600 sq feet house requires you to refill it 3 to 4 times to be totally cleaned.

I was tired of renting Rug Doctor's from local merchants that were in dirty condition. Having to spend 30-60min. to clean before using isn't my job as a renter. Now I know every time I decide to clean my carpet, I just fire it up and go!

I read complaints about it leaking. Dont over fill it and put the solution in last and you'll be fine. It got marker out of the carpet.

This would be a great carpet cleaner if it didn’t use a ton of water and you can only use the scrub function while spraying water.

Looked at the reviews before I bought this and they were right on the mark, easy to set-up and use right out of the box. I have an elderly dog that keeps messing up the carpet but this machine takes care of it no problem.

I have cleaned 2 full rooms with this device at the time of this review. I found the instructions to lack depth regarding how to use it. After the 2nd room, I feel like I have it figured out and the results have been very nice.

Our previous rug cleaning machine stopped having good suction and was too expensive to repair. We did research and chose this Rug Doctor and it did not disappoint. Terrific machine.

The cleaner did not live up the other reviews. Solution & water tanks easy to use. Attached not so easy to store on the back of handle. Pushing the unit forward is difficult regardless of how you adjust the push handle. After a few times using the machine, it would squeal. As for cleaning, it didn't do a good job of removing stains. I tried using different solutions and brands and this didn't make a difference. Doesn't feel solid and made cheap. Utilized extended warranty for a refund.

So yes, it looks ugly and industrial, this machine works great. Excellent suction and carpets are dry in under 2 hours, which is much better then the steam cleaning companies.

Does as well as any commercial cleaner. Not as durable as I thought it would be it does a great job just takes awhile with small cleans and dirty tanks. But one commercial cleaning costs 200.00 so you break even after one clean.

Did great work on my carpets. Only thing I didn't like is you can't see the well where the dirty water comes in. My other one you could see the waste water and tell whether that particular spot of carpet was clean yet.

I really like this machine, I just hope that it will continue to be a wonderful tool. I bought a refurbished machine from another source, and it worked one day and that was it, that's why I said I hope it will last.
