I remember watching this movie when I was a kid back in the Eighties. It was pretty scary as a kid. It still stands up to most of these "New Releases" I highly recommend this movie.

Acclaimed writer Stephen King, and legendary director Tobe Hooper created a wonderful if not campy horror movie. One of the tactfully enjoyable vampire movies of last century. Definitely worth a watch, and worth putting in your collection.

Atmosphere, the scariest vampire ever seen on screen, and price are the three best reasons to get this.

And Stephen King novel adaptation. If you are looking for a gory slash fest, this isn't it. However it works great as a slow-building horror movie. Originally a made-for-tv series, this version is the complete Blu-ray edition. David Soul, in a very under-rated performance, leads an all-star cast.

I can only remember when I was a young child when I first watched this movie! And it scared the "you know what" out of me! But now when I get the chance to watch it again as I am an adult now, and NOTHING scares me anymore! I'm still going to love this nostalgic movie! Awesome can't wait!!

Made for TV but good enough to have in my collection. Excellent film based on a Steven King novella or so I think...Think "Nosferatu". 'Nuff said. And yes, I highly recommend it! Trust me. I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'>

If you like horror movies, this movie will not disappoint you. Very suspenseful and worth owning!

Classic vampire horror movie from the past that relies on suspense, as many classics do...

I'm talking mainly about the scene where the vampire was scratching at the kid's bedroom window.

I thought this movie was scary when i was a kid.Its a good movie but not scary like it was back then.

Originally made as a TV Mini series. 3 hours long. Starts out slowly after intro, but picks up pace as it developes. No special effects, but excellent character make up and set design. Best image rendering of a vampire of any movie I've seen.

Stephen King's Eerie Creepy Vampire Classic that is sure to keep ya up at night looking out your window to see what lurks below. This is when vampire's we're scary not full of glitter.

The outside artwork on this release is stunning from front to back. The inside artwork is also as stunning. The disc is the same as previous releases but good to see they didn’t strip it of it’s amazing commentary track. For $12 -I recommend!

but ultimately it looks as flat as the TV movie that it is. James Mason had real presence, though.

The film is wonderfully literary. Give it some time to build momentum. Really draws you in, slowly but surely. Watched it in a big group at Halloween & we ALL loved it. Blu-ray picture quality is GREAT, especially for an older made-for-TV miniseries.

I love horror movies and the original Salem’s Lot (1979) is one of the best vampire movies ever made. A very creepy and terrifying film that still holds up well over 40 years later. Highly recommended!

I had not seen this movie since I was a boy and it aired on TV for the first time. I remember everyone talking about the floating scene, the choking scene, and, of course, the ending. It's still good and my son loved it. Nice little horror movie.

I have to admit this one I am less familiar with. I consider it more of a suspense "chiller" type movie. Not his best but was a straight to Tv mini series so is to be expected. That being said "The Stand" was a mini series masterpiece in my opinion.

Was VERY surprised at this blu-ray transfer! It's almost like watching a different film. Looks incredible (in my opinion) considering that it's a 70s made for tv movie. One of the best and straight up classic vampire films ever. Worth every penny.
