When listening to your recordings you only can hear from one side of your ear pods. A friend also confirmed this to be true . Not sure if there is something on my end that I can do to change this.

I recorded with my phone on both channels. The sound from one channel was like from a box, and the other channel was low. The recording with my cell was the one I chose.

If you are recording anything over a minute or two, the audio cuts out. I googled it and this is common. I returned this item. I would suggest you look elsewhere.

    improve your mobile audio-video recordings

Samson Go Mic Mobile - Samson has provided an extremely flexible microphone kit to augment or improve your mobile audio-video recordings. Whether you’re a journalist, videographer, blogger or you want to create more professional videos for your social media accounts, the Go Mic Mobile is easy to set up and use. And, getting near-professional results is within reach for novices like me. SETUP: I have never used an add-on mic, and I was surprised how quickly I was up and running. Opening up the packaging, I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful carry case loaded with a full array of connectors, all tucked nicely into the conforming cubbies. At first, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of cables and components. The simple fact is, you only need the MOBILE RECEIVER and associated connection cable for your recording device. [Types of devices to which you can connect: iPhone/iPad family - lightning, Android - micro-USB, or devices with analog audio inputs such as DSLR cameras, cinema cameras or a mixer - 3.5mm analog plug]. Along with the receiver you’ll want to pick out the connection hardware for your phone. Then, plug the microphone into its BELT PACK TRANSMITTER. Power up the TRANSMITTER and the MOBILE RECEIVER and you’re sending audio from the MICROPHONE to your recording device. PERFORMANCE: Everything worked the first time. It’s important to understand that there are several places where you can control the VOLUME or GAIN. There is a gain control in the TRANSMITTER (in battery holder) which I needed to turn up to get more sensitivity out of the MIC. There’s also a volume control to increase the output out to the recording devices. Even with the MIC sensitivity increased it was apparent that the microphone needs to be close to the speaker or performer. (You should also use a bit of adhesive to keep the foam MIC protector attached. It will fall off and get lost, otherwise.) I was satisfied with the sound quality, but you probably want to limit it to talking voices. Locating the MIC for best performance is important and there is a bit less flexibility than I hoped for. SUMMARY: This is a VERY flexible MICROPHONE setup and it offers simplicity for the novice. It meets the demands of any person looking to improve the audio side of their video projects. It will match up with a wide variety of video recording devices, and it has EVERY imaginable connector and attachment you could want. I can recommend it with the cautions noted under the performance section.

    Great Mobile Microphone system

I’ve been testing this mic system for two weeks and I must say that I really like it. I create content and I’ve always wanted to add a lavalier mic to my mix of recording gear. I’m so glad that I was able to try this mic out and it fits my needs perfectly. The best thing about this mic is that it is not only for your mobile phone but it works with your DSLR as well. Sound quality is fantastic. It performs best when in line of sight and can be a bit distorted or staticky if it’s not. You can add an additional mic to it as well. The only issue I had, which isn’t really one of the Samson Go Mic Mobile Wireless microphone system. Is that, if I have my phone on my gimbal stabilizer there is no where for me to attach the pac. So I’m still trying to find a convenient work around for that because no one likes shaky footage. I’m still playing around with it to find the best settings for me but when connected to my iOS phone, I didn’t have any trouble with sound. However, I did find the wind screen a bit flimsy, as it constantly falls off and I find myself looking for it more often than I would like. I would say that this is a great investment for those who are looking for better quality sound for their content. It’s extremely portable. Comes with a nice case and all of the attachments you may need. And it’s definitely not a one off product since it works with cameras as well.

This wireless LAV mic is very portable, comes with a case, and has reasonable battery life. Noted cut outs and connectivity issues with dense urban locations...other signals in the area cut down on range and responsiveness. Range is less than half advertised in these sort of locations. A great way to get started making more professional looking videos.

I was unexpectedly surprised by this mobile wireless mic. It works well with my Samsung Galaxy s8 plus. I noticed static when I got more than 30 feet away from the camera during my playback though. The box says it has a range around 100 ft. I also noticed that I had to have the mic within about 4 in. from my mouth to hear myself clearly when I was outdoor. The sound does sound better indoors. It comes with several adaptors including USB-C adapter. I did try it with my GoPro but for some reason the audio didn't come through. Must be a firmware or incompatibility issue. The system has a built in rechargeable battery which is nice. I didn't test the limit but it lasted more than 4 hours when I tested it. Overall, I thought this wireless mic worked well.

The usability of this has really been thought out. It’s very lightweight and compact. There are different receiver mounting accessories. There is pressure clamp for phones. A tripod mount can be added to the phone clamp so you can mount your phone to a tripod. There is also a hot shoe mount for a camera and some Velcro fasteners for mounting it to most anything else. The tripod mount requires using tiny screws, for which a small screwdriver is included. You will want to get your mount setup on a stable table before you venture out into the field to use it. The lavalier microphone has both a clip and a loop so you can pin it on. The clip is surprisingly robust, it survived the kids wearing it and playing with it on. The receiver has the standard min-DIN plug, but also connects to the phone through the charging/data port where it appears as a USB microphone. This is essential for some newer phone models that dropped the mini-DIN plug. You can also plug it into PC via USB where it also acts as a USB microphone. The receiver has a built in battery that you charge with the included AC adapter. The transmitter holds 2 ‘AA’ batteries (not included). The transmitter has a pro type microphone plug, not the mini-DIN type of plug. You can use other microphones of pro quality with it. The receiver can pair with one or two microphone transmitters. This could be handy in ‘interview’ type situations where you have two people. The kit comes with one Lav microphone and transmitter. The case is a top quality soft case, well-padded and includes a spot for everything including their wireless handheld microphone should you decide to add one of those on later. Friends and I used this indoors over a long holiday weekend at a range of 3-40 feet with both my iPhone and a DSLR camera. The batteries had over 11 hours over the long weekend and were still going. The 13-hour rating seems legit. The wireless signal remained solid, no drops were found in editing. The manual is comprehensive and advises the signal is on the 2.4Ghz band. One of my Wi-Fi channels is on this frequency, but did not seem to pose a problem. The microwave did when it was used close to it. If you get drops, turn off any wireless devices on this band. Overall, I am impressed. It’s easy to use, versatile, and the sound is surprisingly very good and rich sounding for this price. It sounds like a pro quality device. It really kicks the video up by pulling the person into the video over the background sound you get with a built in microphone on the camera. It provides a professional quality sound to videos I didn’t realize was so easily obtainable. If you are going to do any Internet videos, this is a must have to get consistent quality sound in your videos. Even for personal use, it’s awesome. You can get right in on the sound. I wish I had this for my son’s graduation. It would be great for school plays. Maybe I can get him to wear it at his wedding one day….

I was impressed with this mobile lavalier Mc system. Being that it is a mobile system I did not expect the quality to be extremely impressive. First of all is build quality. This system is made out of high-quality plastics and metals. It does not feel cheap it feels more comparable to something professional. The receiver has multiple different controls right on it and it can easily attach to the back of a cellphone or on a hot shoe for a DLSR. One of the best capabilities is that it is small and light for mounting on something such as a mirrorless camera. Two things I did not expect were for it to come with a carrying case which can hold everything. The second thing which is possibly the greatest thing of all is the connectivity. Included in the box is adapters that can connect with virtually any camera or cell phone. I use an iPhone and it even included a lightning adapter to use on Apple products. Setting up this microphone is as simple as plugging it in, adjusting a couple settings and then shooting a video. The audio sounded crisp and did not sound muffled or negative in any way. The only negative to this system is that the microphone portion requires two AA batteries. This is a positive and negative because you can easily change the batteries if they die. However, using rechargeable batteries can be more reliable. This is a great system and I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to create short films using a phone or personal camera.

I use different devices to record videos: iPhone, iPad, DSLR and dedicated video camera. I use several types of wired and wireless mics but until now, none of those was for mobile devices. Sound quality is always a must for me but my main challenge is when I use a phone or tablet because it is always too complicated or impossible to use external mics. This Samson changed that in a very positive way with its easy-to-connect wireless receiver, which works with my iPhone/iPad using the included Lightning cable. Connecting to my DSLR was very simple. Same with an Android, an iPhones and an iPad. Next will be my video camera but I am very optimistic considering my experience so far. The sound quality is very close to high-end professional types. It is not compressed, synchronizes well with the video and there is no static clipping sounds. There are enough controls to adapt sensitivity, gain and volume. You may be a bit disappointed if you are trying to record something else other than voice. Otherwise, you will be very satisfied. Anyway, the purpose for lavalier mics is usually voice. The receiver is small and can fit in your pocket easily. If I was to complain about something it would be that the belt pack transmitter uses AA batteries instead of being charged via USB. The good news is that the receiver is charged that way. If you need quality while recording to mobile devices, you can’t go wrong with this.
