With first two uses overall a good performance

Overall the system worked very well as we used it in a few venues with buit in sound systems thanks to the variety of audio plugs provided. I added a 6.5 male to 3.5 mm Aux adaptor that we needed in one venue. IN that venue, the signal appeared to cut out fractions of seconds quite often. At first we thought th gain was too low but that was not the case. It coincided with the receiver's LED wireless signal indicator light flickering (or changing to red) indicating interruptions in the signal transfer, The distance between the venue's audio mixing device and the speaker podium may have been an issue, but could not be changed.

See the other reviews for a ton of regurgitated specs and all that nonsense. Below is my take on the Go Mic after 2 1/2 weeks of use. You aren't going to get spectacular results from the Go Mic to the point you're going to want to use it with high-end video equipment along the lines of broadcast worthy production(s). This is YouTuber quality, good YouTuber, but vlogger quality all the same. But, paired with any decent modern smartphone you will achieve much nicer audio than you'd get using only the mic off your aforementioned smartphone. Whether or not you think that result is worth the MSRP (at the time of this review, $200) is completely up to you. A few (minor) headaches aside -- the occasional connection issue and getting your levels *just* right -- I think the Go Mic is worth it and would recommend it. At the very least, give it a shot and if you don't think so too, return it. One last thing; a cheap deadcat (mic cover) would really help in outdoor shooting to keep wind off the mic and out of your mix. The mic already does a great job of keeping ambient sounds out, but wind is still an issue just as it is with every single mic I've ever used. I had one for another slightly larger Rode mic, tried it out, and it performed well enough. I'm sure getting one specifically for the smaller Go Mic size it'd perform even better outdoors.

    Good Wireless Mic System

This wireless mic system works pretty good. I was able to record it with no problems using my iPad Pro. Unlike the newest version of the iPad Pro, mine still has the lightning connector and headphone jack. I was able to record using the lightning or headphone jack as an input with no problems. It also comes with a USB-C cable. I would assume it would work with the newer iPad Pro models, but I can’t say for sure. I tried using the USB-C cable with my Samsung Note 8, but I wasn’t able to get it to work. I received constant static feedback while recording. Since my Note 8 has a headphone jack, I was able to use the headphone jack as an audio input to record. It also works well if connected to an audio receiver as well. The windscreen for the mic constantly falls off. I wrapped some twisty ties near the bottom of the windscreen to try and keep it on. The Receiver can be charged via USB, but the Beltpack Transmitter requires 2 AA batteries, which were not included. I wish both could be charged via USB. Overall, I’m pleased with it.

    More Towards Professional Use

I found this Mic Mobile pack to be tailored towards video making professionals that may use a DSLR or even their smartphones to record audio alongside their videos. I thought it would be pretty simple to use and set up but it took a while to figure out for me. It comes with a lot of accessories that are apt for the audio enthusiast but may be confusing for someone just looking to improve the audio quality of their short videos for youtube or for personal use. I tested it on my Google Pixel 3 and I do have to say my audio was clear as day compared to the mic that the phone has. I had no issues with delays or interference or outside noises affecting the audio quality when the mic mobile was connected. I definitely think it's useful for some people but not all. If you shoot professional videos for Youtube or even just want to record yourself playing your musical instrument then this is the product for you.

This microphone is extremely easy to setup for iPhone users. I see this coming in handy for video product reviews, vloggers, and any situation where you want your voice to sound great. I have a blue yeti microphone which would force me to sit in one position the entire time. However, the go mic allows your videos to be more dynamic by allowing to to move around as you talk while still sounding great. Pros: Great audio It's mobile Easy setup Tripod mount ready Can use with iOS, Android, or a DSLR Decent range Accessories included account for everything you will probably need Cons: To adjust the gain you need to use a tiny flat head plastic screwdriver (included) Range is rated at 100 ft, but I couldn't replicate the advertised range

i have tried a few different ways to improve the sound quality of my recordings. I have found that the Samson Go Mic Mobile Wireless Mic system has done a great job recording from my iPhone X. The Samson was very easy to set up and and easy to use. It came with connection cables: lighting, micro USB, USB, audio Aux, charger, a Receiver, a microphone, and a carrying case. It had everything I needed with the exception of 2 AA batteries. The receiver is small and can fit in your pocket easily. The sound quality is great! If you need quality while recording to mobile devices, this is a great selection!

Samson is nothing if not incredibly thorough. Included in the package are an awesome carrying case, attachments for every kind of phone connector, two separate power connectors, tiny screwdrivers to adjust the gain and attachments to your camera, and perfectly-sized bags to keep everything organized. There's no fluff in the box, but because of the sheer number of connectors, it might take you a bit to figure out what everything is. The max operating range is listed as 100 feet, but in signal-rich environments, I was able to get about 30 feet. Not a huge deal, but if you're surrounded by a ton of signal-spewing tech, you don't want to be too far away from your subject if you can help it. Outdoors and in large without a ton of ambient signals, I was able to get a lot closer to the 100 feet without issue. The gain control on the mic pack as well as the volume toggle on the receiver offer a LOT of control over the final levels. I noticed significant differences between received levels on my Canon T3i and my iPhone (I'm pretty sure the iPhone was using some sort of software correction). The iPhone sounded spectacular with out of the box settings and once I figured out the settings, the Canon T3i also had great audio. The microphone performed well - even in environments with noise and with a subject talking at various volumes. The cord was generous enough, I'd have liked another length or so. The pack arrived almost fully charged and the battery performed well throughout testing. The on-the-box limit is 13 hours, I'd believe it. The charging connector is USB. Connecting to my iPhone was very simple (the receiver has a sliding toggle and can "grip" the back of the phone and then the "grip" can then connect to a tripod). This also makes for a really easy selfie filming setup. The audio quality was awesome. Connecting to my T3i took a bit more work because I had to attach the shoe mount (which requires the included screwdriver). After correcting the settings, the audio was also very good. I'd like to test the 2 channel setup at some point, just to see how it performs, but single, add-on Go Mic recording packs are a bit hard to find at the time of writing. The carrying case comes with a spot for a hand-held wireless mic, which is an easier-to-find option. If you add a second Go Mic, there's not a spot in the stock case to easily store it without smushing it in with the cords. Overall, this is a great wireless lav bundle and greatly simplifies the DIY-videographer's life (esp. if you combine video and audio from iPhone and DSLR sources and need a versatile mic that will handle BOTH without a lot of hand-wringing over finding the right cords).

    Expected better sound from this

I wanted an external mic for my camera so I could get better sound at concerts & other events, unfortunately I will never know that sound because my camera doesn’t have a mic jack. That being said we tried this on an iPhone & also used with garage band on an iPad. This comes in a very nice case with all the cables you need for iPhone, Android, headphone jack. It is lightweight, set up was easy. It comes with adapters for tripod & camera but you have to take it apart a bit to convert to those. The reason for the three stars is because I recorded live music & even with the volume turned to max, it wasn’t very loud at all. When played back through an external Bose speaker it still wasn’t loud. I expected more & was disappointed. The lavalier mic was good because it doesn’t pick up other noise around the room but that’s about all the good I could find. While using the iPad the sound was ok but I was talking right into the mic not wearing it. For the price I think I’d shop around a bit .

I am using the Go Mic at my office at a university to capture workshop sounds! Totally fabulous results even though we are not experts in videography by any measure. We have used it with Iphones and handheld video cameras and are very pleased with the results. We spent about 30 minutes practicing before actually using the mic. Quick and easy. I have also used this when doing videos of my goat herd for sales purposes. With the lavalier, I don't have to worry about not capturing my voice due to turning my head or moving the camera. Overall I think this Go Mic is perfect for the casual user..... might be the gateway to even fancier things!

Great Quality - Concerned about Signal Drop

This Samson Go Mic is a pretty good quality mic for the price paid. The audio is pretty simple to set up. I am mainly using it my Sony A6500 for talking head audio. I am not sure yet if it is the TX/RX having an issue or the Sony A6500, but I will record a 15 minute long clip and at times the audio will drop and then will come right back. I cannot blame the Mic fully yet but from what I am observing it seems like the feed dies out and then comes back. I am only 5 feet away from the Receiver so I do not know why it would be dropping. Overall Good Quality Mic, however the audio drops sporadically are cause for concern. I am not sure if I would recommend this product until I do more testing to see what the issue is.

For the price, this is a great item. The wireless setup was super easy and pretty much worked right from out of the box. I really did not have to do any setting up. I plugged it in and it worked! The bad news, however, is be mindful of where you use it. In other words, if you use it anywhere where there is a 2.4 Ghz signal, like wifi for example, you will get cutting in and out issues. This is unfortunate seeing as wifi is almost everywhere now days. At first I thought something was wrong with my unit, but after watching youtube videos about the issue, it is clear that it is a common issue and one that unfortunately cannot be corrected as long as you are using it within a wifi field. Other then that issue, I really like it. Super easy to use!

This is a nice kit, and offered a lot. My current Samson mic sounds amazing compared to this, and it cost a lot less. I'm not feeling is the price based on the performance. It doesn't match up well for me. The sounds is okay, not as good as I thought it would be. The setup is fast, and simple. The battery life is good. It didn't work with all of the devices I tried, and muffled the sounds on my iPad Pro. 3 stars because I love the brand and their products. But the price is higher than it should be to me.

Yes, no... Great overall. However the wire that connects the lapel mic is tiny in diameter, is frail/fragile, and is really disappointing to have such quality every where else and then have the mic a piece of fragile crap that will probably break shortly and have to be replaced. Come on guys... look again... quality check before you put a product out. The wire to the mic is a fragile piece of s#!#.
