Worse piece of crap, ever. Afraid to even leave the thing plugged in. Had to smash it before throwing in the trash for fear of someone trying to save it to use again.

    So Far So Good....

I bought this oven to replace another Samsung convection microwave that blew up just out of the 1 year warranty. This oven is very similar except for the black finish and glass touch pad. Things I liked better on the old oven was the handle to pull the door down was a real handle vs this one with kind of a tab for a handle that can be difficult to grab if you have large hands such as mine. I also don't like the fact you have to always push the microwave button first before using the quick 30 second setting for microwaving. The previous model you could just directly push the button and the oven would start. I would have also liked a color choice between black and brushed silver/stainless. Other than the nits I just picked the oven seems to work well and of course I love having the convection option. This model seems better built than the predecessor model I just threw out. I recommend with caution to longevity.

    Great for any home.

I have had this convection microwave for about 3 weeks. I am amazed at its ability with the power convection mode to cook salmon, crisp chicken and brown items in such a short amount of time. Everything comes out tender, delicious and hot. No need to turn on the oven anymore! I am exploring its capabilities each day; reheating, baking, grilling. So versatile, every college student and home should have one. It's size is perfect for all kinds of cooking from casseroles to steak. Did I mention the popcorn button works! I rank this oven with 4 stars for two reasons; 1) I wish it had a higher microwave wattage 2) the instruction booklet should be rewritten for better clarity and instruction. This specialty microwave is not push button intuitive like historical microwave models. However, with a little trial and error, I am very pleased so far.

    Best Convection Microwave Out There

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently purchased several models of microwaves, giving them trials to see which was the best unit. I tried convection microwaves from Breville, Cuisinart, & Samsung. The Samsung is definitely the best overall, and clearly superior to the other models. I could go on and on about all of the features of this microwave, but I will leave most of the details to the manufacturer & other reviewers. I will say that so far, everything has exceeded my expectations. The power convection cooks things quickly, and the results are impressive. The overall design and appearance is very sleek, modern, solid, and high-end. The controls are a dream- no more pressure pads to fuss with, just a sleek glass panel. I have seen some reviews stating that it is complicated to use, but, in my opinion, it is a breeze. It does require some thought, and settings must be adjusted to your specific cooking requirements, but seriously, look at all it can do. Yes, you should read the manual. Once the settings are learned, you quickly realize the incredible versatility of this microwave. I strongly recommend this model to those who want a very well built, solid, modern, versatile, countertop convection microwave. There is nothing better on the market right now.

    Awesome True Convection Microwave

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was on a mission to find a great true countertop convection oven to save some counter space in my kitchen. My toaster oven stopped working and my microwave was getting old. After some research I came across the Samsung Smart Oven. It has real heating elements inside! One directly above the turntable and one in the back inside where the convection fan is. It heats foods and leaves a crisp outside just like a toaster oven would! Anyone who buys this appliance should thoroughly read the manual before use so you know how to properly operate the device for best results with your cooking. It will be worth it. Keep it handy during the first month of use in case you forget something.

terrible directions/no enclosed cookbook as advert

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought one of these in 2017 and it died and needed to be replaced. The new one does not have a cookbook as advertised and the new direction manual is only a few pages long and gives virtually no instructions on how to use the different settings. In fact the "owners manual" is not even specifically for this model and includes many features this one may or may not have. Why cannot you provide adequate documentation on how to use the settings on the unit? The images you have on the control panel make not much sense. And I do not know why you left our the cookbook that used to come with the unit. Poor job Samsung. I regret buying the unit.

Nothing is easy with this overcomplicated oven

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If you are accustomed to 1-touch functions on a microwave, this is not the oven for you. To do something as simple as heating up a mug of water, you must first hit the "microwave" button, then dial the power level, then dial the time you want, then press start. It gets much more complicated if you want to use the convection functions or "slim fry" feature. Many of the functions, including choosing the power level which you must do every single time, require that you consult a table in the user manual. To reheat food, for example, you must select PL 80. Simmer is PL 60. Maybe I'll memorize these eventually, or ignore them, but why should I have to do this at all? If you use the convection function, it's just as complicated. There is a table of 14 convection power levels that correspond to different food types. Before you can use this feature, you must consult the table to find the most appropriate food type (P2 is Hamburger, P11 is Frozen Chicken Wings, e.g.). There are 2 different removable oven racks that come with the oven, and the table will also tell you which one to insert in the oven before cooking. Before you buy this oven, I strongly recommend viewing the user manual online and deciding whether the features of this microwave are worth the complicated processes and learning curve required to use it.

Bought this at Best Buy thinking Samsung is a reputable company. Immediately after using the microwave it would randomly beep and make noises. We called Samsung and were told not to return it to the store (big mistake listening to this advise) but to contact the authorized repair guy in our area. We called several times and no one ever came. By this point in time the Microwave was out of warranty. We can not leave it plugged in or it randomly beeps and at times turns on by itself (and no our house isn't haunted). The microwave will still heat up food but we are afraid to leave it plugged in that it may catch fire or something.

    STOPPED WORKING AFTER 1.5 YEARS

I bought this microwave about 1.5 years ago. Worked great up until last night... when it inexplicably stopped working while in oven mode. I was cooking something (as normal) and it just died! I would never expect a product of this caliber to die after only 1.5 years... not long after the warranty expires. Very disappointed.

This product performed acceptably for about 25 months before the interior electronics fried during convection oven usage. The microwave was used primarily for microwave functionality with only occasional convection (about twice a month). The features and functionality were fairly good during its operation. Some of the other cooking modes were a little confusing or frustrating because they seemed to rely on pre-programmed food/dish types. I will not buy Samsung appliances again as we have had poor experiences with other Samsung appliances.

Online order 12 page manual that came with it worthless. Says I can set the power level, but does not say how. Stupid knob (needs numeric keyboard) does not work right for microwave. Unable to get full user manual at Samsung download site (it's not there only a smart recipes pdf and an app for download. This morning I tried to heat my mocha mix(milk and cocoa). Tried to set time to 2:30 minutes, eventually appeared to have it, Only slightly warm when stopped. Then set for 1 minute the bleeping product immediately lowers it to 24 seconds when I hit the start button. Fiddled with it for 10 different tries. Finally heated in my old microwave. Would not have ordered if had known it lacks a timer. Unable to return, had to destroy box to get the microwave out. Too many packing pieces to be able to reassemble anyway. Too heavy for me to lift (had delivered). In any event I do not go into any stores during pandemic. So stuck with a product I don't want. Lot of money to loose for worthless microwave operation. Based on experience with this product, I tried to cancel associated range which was backordered to Dec 26th, system won't let me cancel. Best Buy Chat is automated of no help. Have been on hold for 50 minutes so far trying to reach store by phone. Will not buy anything online from Best Buy again and no longer have a local store

I bought this because of the way the door opened and the convection/grilling function. First, the controls are not intuitive. Second, the grilling function is awful at best, and convection doesn’t work well either. I’ve had the microwave for about 8 months already so I can’t return it.
