NOT a toaster. Don't buy if you want a combo unit

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I searched long and hard for a device that is: (1) a microwave; (2) compact; and (3) also a toaster oven. This satisfied one of those criteria--it's a microwave. As a microwave, it seems fine. But it took up quite a lot of counter space and as a toaster oven it totally failed. It's not really advertised as a toaster oven, so dinging it for failing at that task may not really be fair, but other reviewers suggested it might work as such, and I don't want anyone else to be fooled. Unlike a proper toaster, it has only one heating element, so you have to turn the bread over halfway. That would be inconvenient but not a dealbreaker, except that it's also slow and uneven. There doesn't seem to be any combo microwave/toaster available in the U.S., so I returned this and bought a compact microwave and separate toaster.

After reading comments seems to be a common issue. It’s a shame, most expensive microwave I have ever bought, and first one to give me issues period (cheaper ones ran well for years until I decided to upgrade). Disappointed with the product.

Stopgap solution.

Tried the Samsung and that it, too, tended to overheat under heavy use. 15 minutes and the exterior of the oven is Hot. Power is inconsistent, leaving frozen dinner sometimes still partially frozen. I've only used the microwave feature, on timed cycles.

My husband wanted a Samsung because our other kitchen appliances are. The first one we received had a broken door so we returned it. The second one, this one, the door stopped working after about a month and although it is supposed to be a strong microwave, nothing cooks. It has zero power. We have ordered a replacement, not a samsung, and we cannot return it. Three months and it's going in the trash.

The 30 sec and start buttons are tiny and poorly located. Microwave would be better at 1100 or 1200 watts instead of 1000. I am limited in size so I had to get this one. It's ok.

I had a cheapo, off brand and it lasted for YEARS, low wattage I just waited and waited and it never died.. This microwave has options i don't understand (grilling etc), seems to take forever to defrost meat, and heats up the cups/bowls more than the food inside the cups/bowls... I just don't know.
