I needed a Slim over the range Microwave for distance above a new gas stove. The Kitchen Aide Convection oven was too close and the heat from Maple syruping ruined it. I chose the Samsung because it works with Smart Things and it automatically turns the fan on when the burners on the stove lite. Besides that... I LOVE SAMSUNG PRODUCTS

Not sure how to use the technology on this but overall it is good purchase. I took one star off because it came with a broken glass fir the light. I guess I will call Samsung to see if it can be replaced.

The only thing I like about this microwave is that the popcorn button detects when the popcorn is done popping so it makes microwave popcorn perfectly every time. The fact that you cannot control the fan or the light on this microwave from anything other than the SmartThings app is absolutely infuriating. All I want to do is control the fan and the light from my Google Home or from Apple HomeKit, but you can’t without going in through the SmartThings developer API. Anytime the power goes out or the microwave gets unplugged, the whole thing needs to be factory reset in order to set it back up with the SmartThings app. That whole process fails 4/5 times, so this ends up being a 30 minute process every time. I would have loved to see backlit buttons, at least for the light/fan. But nope. Good luck trying to turn on the range light in the dark. Every Samsung appliance I have ever purchased has been a massive mistake. For the price, this thing is an absolute joke.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This microwave looks really nice from the front, It is sleek and generally has a great appearance. The internal height is about the same as a smaller counter microwave. However, my one gripe would be that it is very deep for an over the range microwave. 19" means its sticking out a full seven inches from a 12" cabinet. Not a problem from the front but it doesn't look great if you look at it from the side.
