Door opens down not good for short folks.

Finally I got an email after weeks of waiting that it is on back order but there wasn't a time frame given to expect its delivery.

Extremely poor

The 1st time it was delivered damaged, the 2nd time it never worked correctly and wouldn't turn on sometimes or would switch to other features. The 3rd time it worked great for about 30 days and then it began to spark and make a loud noise. When we opened the door the side panel had a hole melted through the wall of the microwave! We will not be trying a 4th time!

Disappointing product and much confusion

Instead I did the research and found a product (model # MC12J8035CT) that met my needs at a price I could afford and got good reviews. The first unit I received began malfunctioning the first time I tried it, but thinking it might have been an effect of “breaking it in” I tried the simplest microwave task of heating water in an open glass. After a couple of attempts it worked, and I continued to use the unit successfully for a few days. Then, trying to reheat a small amount of leftovers in an open glass bowl it began arcing and flaming within seconds. No, there was no metal. I set that aside and tried to heat water as a test, but the arcing only got worse. After a lengthy effort to speak to Samsung tech support, I decided that my best plan was to exchange the product through BestBuy's 15 day return or exchange policy. There were no units available at any store within a 3-hour drive from my house, but was informed that I could pick it up in a few days. Hoping that this unit was a lemon, I assented to this option expecting to get a fully functional replacement. Happily, I was later told that it would be delivered and I would not have to make the 6-hour round trip drive. I received the replacement unit as promised, but when I went to set it up, all the buttons on the display panel functioned properly except the START button. I couldn't preform the simplest task of boiling water in the microwave. Thinking I had perhaps overlooked an important instruction (and yes, I DO read instructions) I called Samsung support. They offered no solution other than to send a technician to my house to fix it. Again, the nearest tech is 3 hours away. As of today I have received no confirmation that a technician will be coming to my house. I'm willing to get this fixed before the 15-day return policy expires, but effectively I HAVE RECEIVED A BRAND NEW PRODUCT THAT REQUIRES REPAIR BEFORE I CAN USE IT. I might expect this if I had bought it from a thrift store, but this is UNACCEPTABLE from two highly respected companies, Samsung and BestBuy. I will be happy to amend my review depending on whether I receive the customer satisfaction I expect.

Severely Disappointed - Especially for the Price

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After our over the range microwave died, we saw this unit as an opportunity to consolidate the microwave, air fryer, toaster oven and toaster all in one purchase. We were very disappointed however to find that although this machine can technically do all of those things, it can hardly do any of them well. Time to microwave food took 10-20 seconds longer than our last microwave. The "slim fry" mode doesn't give results anywhere near an air fryer. On top of this, the interface that is utilized to select modes and cooking time is horrific. It is not intuitive, has no ability to enter numbers and requires the memorization or reference of codes such as "A1, B2, C3" to select cooking modes. Overall, we are very regretful in our purchase and are now stuck with an appliance that people locally won't even buy used for half price. Avoid this thing if at all possible!

Poor quality

Open-Box, i wouldn’t trust it!

Very complex unit with poor user interface

When you dedicate 5 1/2 pages to safety information, 1/2 page to installation, cleaning, storing, and repairing your microwave, 1 page for warranty information, and 1 page for the cover, you only have 4 pages left to describe operation. As complex as this unit is, I don't think 4 pages is adequate. I called Customer Service at Samsung and asked if there was a more detailed version available. He gave me the link for the 40 page user manual, but said they wouldn't send it to me – I would have to use my own printer, paper, and ink to print it from the link. Interface This unit has a very poor user interface. There are no numbers on the panel – just “up arrow”, “down arrow”, and a “+30 sec” button. For example, to enter 10 minutes for a timed cook, you would have to press the “up arrow” 60 times (10 second increments) or the “+30 sec” 20 times – and then follow either entry with the “OK” button. Previous microwaves I have used had a numeric keypad that would activate the microwave with a single press – for example, a single press of the “2” button would cook the contents for 2 minutes. Complexity This is a complex unit capable of not only microwaving, but has convection, power convection, grill, slim fry, plus combination grill/microwave and combination convection/microwave. The 4 pages allocated in the user manual are woefully inadequate to explain operation. If this unit will be used as the only oven in an RV or a very small kitchen, its power might be appreciated, but the complexity cannot be justified in any other setting. Maintenance This microwave is considered a “table top microwave” rather than a “built-in microwave”, so home service is not available (at least with the Samsung approved repair shop or Best Buy Geek Squad). You must lug this unit into the repair shop and back for repair. Make sure that you install the trim kit so it is easy to remove the microwave if (when) repair is needed. Durability I haven't seen the reliability numbers, but based on the reviews and personal experience, this unit seems to have a high failure rate. Maybe the failure rate just seems higher because when you pay four times more for this unit than you would for a cheap microwave, you have more incentive to repair it whereas with a cheap microwave, you may just dispose of it and get a new one.
