We had never had an over the range microwave. We were replacing a small countertop microwave that had very little power. I purchased this one because of the price and the reputation of Samsung appliances. I was fortunate to find it on sale at $149. The next day I looked it up again and the price had gone up to $169. I followed the instructions and used the provided templates and the installation was a piece of cake. So far, the unit has performed perfectly for us. If there is something I could say bad about it is that it's a little noisy. But I understand that most of the higher power microwaves are.

This microwave is very powerful, and cooks evenly. It s not took loud, and the display is clear. Add to this its large size and low price, and this product becomes an exceptional value. I highly recommend it.

This product is heads taller than the G.E. it replaced, and is about half of the $price$ (exact same size and power). It was also very easy to install, it only took about 30 minutes.

We've had the microwave just a little over a month. It works well, provides all our basic needs. We use it mostly to warm up leftovers. The fan is a little louder than our last one. I like that there is an eco-button that shuts the time/light off, but I have to hit it everytime I'm done with the microwave. Other than those 2 minor issues it works very well!

After 12 years of with the same GE microwave. My girlfriend and I decided to upgrade to an over the range microwave. We were able to clear up some counter space, add a new toaster oven appliance in it's stead and was able to filter out smoke in our non unventilated apt. This microwave may not have the bells and whistles like the more expensive microwaves but it does the job well done, while giving a face lift for my kitchen. Samsung makes one of the best electrical appliance and electronics and stand by it. We are very happy with our purchase.

we wanted a simple to use, overhead MW.. w/o the middle shelf.. our old one had middle shelf which we never used, always had to take it out to MW anything. additional TIP to users -- purchase a $5 plug-in surge suppressor for the MW. 90% of MW problems arise from power surges that damage the electronic touch panel.. which was the problem with our old MW..

Pros: The front is flat and smooth, hence easy to wipe clean. Our previous unit had fancy grillwork that was uncleanable. Our previous unit was a Maytag (NOT recommended!) and the mounting scheme was exactly the same! I didn't even need to remove the old mounting bracket, just left it in place and installed this new unit on it. This unit allows a bit more access to the back row of the range, as the bottom slopes slightly upward toward the front. I'd like it if it did more so, but still better than our previous unit. "Eco mode" simply turns off the display. That's really nice! Allows you to turn off the "nightlight" at night! Cons: The kitchen timer cannot be used while cooking. That's stupid, and basically means you'll have to go out and buy a separate kitchen timer. Add that to the cost. The installation manual is fine, but the operating manual is pathetic. Fortunately, it's not a terribly complicated machine to use -- but how to use the "auto sense" features I have no idea. How can it tell how many potatoes are in there? To heat something for 30 seconds, you press "add 30 seconds" followed by "start". On our previous microwave you'd just press "add 30 seconds" and it would start immediately. That's minor, but the one-touch operation was really nice, we miss it. The light over the range is lame. Can't really blame this particular unit, it's been lame on every microwave I've seen. They all use a 40W appliance bulb that puts out very little light, and what it does put out is dingy yellow. To make things even worse, the light fixture has no reflector -- but I added one made of aluminum foil and aluminum tape, which helped somewhat. A pair of 20W halogen bulbs would be MUCH better, but that would require a different socket arrangement. Heck, it'd be good if Sylvania or GE would produce a 40W halogen bulb to replace this sorry appliance bulb. There seems to be slightly less microwave energy in the exact center of the turntable. Everything around the edges of a plate gets warmer than what's in the middle. It's not cold, it's just not as warm as the outer area -- and that's not easy to deal with, since it happens to be the center. You can't put the plate far enough off-center to fix it. When cooking, the front bottom corners of the housing get quite warm to the touch. Not sure why; there shouldn't be anything inside those corners generating heat! It doesn't seem to hurt anything, but it is disconcerting. The exhaust fan over the range works well, better than it did on the Maytag -- and the Maytag was noisier. This one works well enough that it can effectively be used on low speed. I *think* the blower unit itself is exactly the same, so the difference is in the housing and the intakes.

This microwave was only 170$ after I got it on sale and then applied the 5% discount offered through the Best Buy card. What I didn't expect was it to look so good installed and perform so well. I should have know since it is Samsung!

Easy to use & install. Had microwave for about a month now with no problems. I would recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this microwave because it was the right size for our kitchen. I had 2.0 cubic foot Whirlpool picked out, but it was just too big, so I took it back and purchased this unit. Once installed, it looked really nice in our kitchen. However, I have now come to realize the 16 year old GE it replaced was easier to operate and had more features than this brand new Samsung. My big beef is if you have the timer going, you cannot make any changes to the cooking controls. You also cannot turn off the turntable. And speaking of the turntable, now the thing is acting like it's catching on something and making a noise that it shouldn't be. The two good things: It does look good with our dark cabinets and I got it for a killer price on sale. However, if I knew about how it operated and features, I would have shopped more and purchased another unit.

I'm happy with this great-looking microwave with an easy to read keypad. I don't need more complications when I pop something to microwave. It's fast and cooks evenly. Has all the features I need including underneath lighting and fan. And the price was so reasonable. We had Best Buy guys install it and they were so considerate, neat and fast!

I purchased this microwave along with other Samsung Appliances, and I have to say that for the price, I am happy with it. The microwave does a great job of heating the food, and other than the annoying hard to see blue clock, it works well. When first turning on the unit to heat something it seems pretty loud, but after a minute or two quiets down. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the microwave... Especially for the price we paid for it!

Great over stove microwave, easy installation even for me and I'm not a contractor. Very happy with the unit.

Microwave works real good. Time is lit up real nice. The only thing is the fan is alittle loud.

The unit is fairly basic. It has buttons for popcorn, potatoes, etc but still have to use START to get going (my older more expensive model did not). There is no one minute number as my older one had. The turntable is smaller than my old one. Over all for the price it is a good value.

Bought this as the cheapest possible replacement for a GE Spacesaver XL 1800. Fit right it the old bracket, no adjustments necessary. After reviewing lots of over the range microwaves that were the same width,I determined that many fail, (brand doesn't matter) so I decided to go with the cheapest one possible, just throw it out and buy another when it fails after 2 years. (hey maybe ill get lucky and it will last 5) As a sidenote, when I removed the old microwave it was full of condensation from cooking on the stove... go figure. Make sure you turn the blower on when cooking anything on top of the stove ( My wife still hasn't figured it out yet) #Facepalm

I bought this microwave on 5/1/2013 and it was easy to install, looked great, but died on 1/1/2015. About two weeks before it died the light inside the microwave started flickering whenever I used it. Now it won't even turn on. I did not buy the Geek Squad protection plan so it was not covered and I have to buy a new microwave. I will not be buying another Samsung Microwave.

Looks nice, cooks fast and evenly. Installed myself and instructions were decent. Just enough convenient functions for regular family use.

Bought this microwave to replace an old sears one because my stove wouldnt fit under the sears. I choose this one because it was the cheapest that matched the new stove. After 4 months no complaints. I cant imagine what a more expensive one would do that this one wouldn't. Reheats everything we put in it. Not loud at all

I give this microwave 4 out of 5 stars based on the affordability, appearance and most importantly, the fact that it does what it is supposed to do. It heats food evenly and very quickly. In an apparent cost cutting move, the materials used seem to be rather flimsy - but once installed, you can't tell - and if it doesn't impact functionality; who cares? And installation wasn't difficult. All in all - I would recommend this microwave.
