Horrible purchase!

Under-mounted light on for 3 hours and the heat made the glass bust and blow out. When reordered and reinstalled, the installers damaged the microwave. The same installer was sent out again to replace with an even more damaged microwave. No one will take responsibility so I may be stuck with this machine that was not even anchored correctly so it sways back and forth., has a damaged handle, warped incasement, paint I had to scrape off of the door, and an unleveled door. I will have to return and will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance again!

Something wrong with the fan

While it functions conventionally as a microwave, the annoying noise, likely from the fan, has prompted me to replace it. I'm considering buying a GE microwave; my old GE microwave is 20 years old and still performs well.

Good--then really bad

It was working good until one day while my daughter was cooking ramen noodles and there was steam. Apparently, it gets up into the touchpad and then there is nothing you can do to fix it except buy a door for it which costs a mere $400. I am out of warranty and protection plan. If you look online, many people have had this same problem. You'd hope Samsung would have a fix for it.

I hate this microwave

My 15 year old GE Advantium died so I found this Samsung, which was nice looking and very cheap compared to other brands. I want my 15 year old GE back so bad. This thing is horrible. I can't skip preheat (or can't figure out how to) and can't enter a cook time until it's heated up to temp. If I want to defrost a bagel I have to select an item and the weight, as there's no way to enter a time manually. The first time I used it I was confused and hit the convection button twice, not realizing it puts it in broil (brown) mode. So after 7 minutes my pizza looked like it had fallen into a fiery pit. It functions well and looks nice, but it's too frustrating to use.

First, on high power, it takes about 7 miles to cook a bag of steamed vegetables. As previously discussed, it is an extremely noisy ventilation system, and steam does pool on the underside of the microwave and on the front- I wasn’t even using the microwave, and suddenly, I heard a series of beeps, and an error message of C-Do appeared. I thought maybe it meant cool down because I had left the microwave light on- and it was extremely hot to the touch- I thought C-DO means cool down- After a few days, nothing happened. I unplugged it for a few minutes- plugged it back in- after about 30 seconds, it beeped and the C-Do code reappeared. I started to search it and found out that according to Samsung, it means that someone touched the buttons for 10 seconds or more. I wasn’t even touching the microwave. Someone else said, it needed to be cleaned. My microwave is very clean- inside and out. I’ve heard by other reviewers that the microwave is basically trash at this point- and approximate repairs is $250. This microwave lasted less than the cheapest microwave I’ve ever owned- There is no reason for this- it should be recalled. Do not buy from Samsung or LG- spend the extra money and get a kitchen aid.

Samsung doesnt know it's own products very well.

This product (purchased in 2017) is adequate but not as an "over the stove model. "Yes it has a lot of bells and whistles that I don't use. And every electronic component still works. Cons: 1. Low power. Compared to my old EWave (1200 watt) it takes a minute longer to cook up 1/3 cup of popcorn and *only* if I use the metal carousel to elevate the bag. The carousel rubber feet decomposed and fell off within a few uses. Sparks arc into the glass turn table even after fitting my own high temperature silicone feet on ends. The carousel glass is now pitted badly. No information regarding this anywhere on YouTube or some kind of special high heat part from Samsung. 2. The manual mentions replacing a charcoal filter if venting to the outside. There is no filter and cold air comes in from outside. 3. The inside lights are almost useless. They are so weak I can't tell if the carousel is turning.

great look, terrible durability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.microwave has broken several times in 2 years of light use. within a few months we got a frequent "C-FO" error message that made the whole unit useless until we unplugged for a few hours, that issue never really went away but would come and go randomly. The magnitron broke and it failed to microwave after around 15 months, too expensive to fix so we went back to a countertop microwave and kept it as a fan/convection oven for a little while. about a month later it broke again while baking, this time for good. So the convection oven/microwave does not bake or microwave after less than 2 years of ownership. It will sometimes display the time, assuming the C-FO fault isn't showing, so that's nice, but there are cheaper clocks available. On to the features... "slim fry" is literally just convection oven with taller racks to keep your food closer to the heating element, it is not a special feature and i wouldn't buy for that feature. It has preset settings that are not very intuitive and requires a separate book to decipher. So if you want to use those features, you have to store a ceramic plate, 2 different wire racks, and a book. Not really worth it to me. The oven doesn't work well either, it's always colder or slower to heat up than a traditional oven would be. So add time and up the temperature if you're trying to bake things. I will be putting this expensive microwave in the trash and replacing it with a kitchen aid.

Died right after warranty expired
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightly used, died right after the warranty period was up. It appeared to be blowing an internal fuse. Unplugging it fixed it the first time, but it died within the next week. We brought it to be repaired and the part was more than the cost of the unit. Dead Samsung microwave, and a broken Samsung refrigerator, I suggest you go with another brand.

Not worth it

The microwave function was fine, but the convection oven never really heated properly. Now it does not work at all. It shutdown during heating two weeks ago. I had Samsung come out to fix it. They did not charge for the visit, BUT would not pull down the unit from above the range, claiming that it involves too much liability. So, of course, the issue appears to be with a thermostat in the back of the unit. Now, unless I pay someone to take it down (I am not comfortable doing it), it cannot be repaired. Very frustrating. Poor product, poor design, and poor repair policy.

Don't buy it

November 2017 in convection mode cooking french fries I hear a loud pop. I open the door to find the internal glass cracked and bulging outward. Luckily I bought the Geek Squad warranty and they fixed it about 3 weeks ago. Now last night I'm cooking and the thing powered itself off and is now dead. I'm assuming it's a thermal relay or fuse, but it's a headache you don't want.

Stopped working

The oven option still works. Called Samsung several times about possible warranty issue and it is maddening. The place they told us to call won’t help us if it could be warranty. Samsung continues to tell us we need to use that place. Maddening. If you do but this, buy the extra warranty through Best Buy so you don’t have to go through Samsung. Worst experience and still don’t have a working microwave.

Defective after less than a month

My first microwave was broken in the box. Best Buy replaced it. Second one worked for a month and microwave function stopped. Samsung sent repairman who couldn’t fix it. Convection oven stopped working along with the control panel. Samsung just keeps sending someone to repair rather than replace. They have horrible customer service as well. I still don’t have a working appliance. Don’t buy Samsung!!!

Poorly Designed Keypad Failed after 35 Days

Unfortunately I called Samsung instead of the Geek Squad and Samsung referred us to a local repair service. We had an appointment but the repair service called the morning of the appointment to cancel. After 4 days of not being able to use the microwave I pulled it out myself and returned it to Best Buy. They refunded our money after a brief discussion and we purchased a new Kitchen Aid convection microwave from the them 10 minutes later. The difference between the Samsung and Kitchen Aid is very noticeable however we paid $180 more more the Kitchen Aid but worth it!

Don't try the Slim Fry feature

Tried the Slim Fry feature last week and followed instructions 100% from manual. Doing fries the inner glass cracked in 15 minutes. The crack occurred on right side of glass where no physical contact of frying tray could touch. First attempt of using Slim Fry for frozen French Fries ended up costing the cost of the microwave oven. Unit is under warranty and Samsung is declining repair and Best Buy doesn't want to get involved. Just sent another email to Samsung and also to Department of Consumer Protections in Connecticut. Once my Best Buy credit card is paid off I am closing the card and will shop elsewhere

Do Not Buy Samsung's Products

The oven , one of the burners were not shutting off. The fire kept aflame and so we had to replace the whole thing. Next after a week of replacing the oven our microwave was not shutting off and was over heating and making noises so we has to shut it down. Both products were very dangerous. If my neighbor would have not of come my house would have burned down. She is an old lady and cannot handle this poor quality. So please do not get their products.I want to help other people from a scam. Plus there was no help from the company.

Worst microwave purchase

It was covered under warranty & took over 1 week to fix. Less than 2 years later same issue, but it’s not covered under warranty anymore. Samsung won’t do anything about it. Need to purchase another microwave in 24 months. Please read all the reviews and don’t purchase this microwave!!

Stopped heating after a year.

It stopped heating and Samsung has referred me to a repair center that charges $250 for microwave repairs. I’m so disappointed:(. This microwave is kind of confusing as it has so many different buttons/options. I have only used convection 1 time because it’s a pain figuring out which accessory I need for what item I’m cooking.
