Awesome microwave

There are 2 different sheets of MICA in side - they look as though they are cardboard and should be removed. I did that, accidently ripping them. Tried ordering them from 5 different places - they were all the wrong size. Finally ordered a replacement from Samsung. This was very frustrating! My mistake - but wish it was spelled out in the directions better.

The reason for 4 stars is because the buttons sometimes require a hard press in order to register - it makes me worried that the control panel may need to be replaced sooner than later but so far so good!

Sometimes you have to push twice for it recognize the pressure. Other than that, it works well and is pretty. We really like the blue inside too.

It replaced a 20 year old microwave that was getting pretty weak and the elevated buttons were cracking. I love the way the control panel is on this one. It's flat. This one weighed about half of what the old one did so was easy to put up. Works great and we love it.

The wattage output on the radio waves is very reliable; two strips of bacon cook perfectly at 2 minutes on high every time. We did have to install supplemental lighting close to the unit because the all-black of the unit makes it hard to see without it (or with the huge overhead light in the kitchen). We like it.

Then, the microwave started catching food on fire. I contacted Samsung support to file a warranty claim, but three weeks have passed without a resolution. Samsung keeps promising that this will be fixed, but another week goes by without any progress or a scheduled repair. I would advise avoiding Samsung due to their poor support. I’ve owned many Samsung products, but this experience is making me consider other brands.
