    Beautiful and Functional

First and foremost, I am very please with my refrigerator. It is not only beautiful and classy but it has many desireable features. 1. The price was great for all the features included in this French door model. 2. The size is ideal for a single person or small family who don't require much space. I absolutly LOVE the himidity control trays. Food last longer and is fresher. The deli tray is great too! I love the way I can slide it to accomodate the other food and it too keeps my deli food fresh and lasting longer. As for the glossy finish, I don't mind it. I have no finger prints on there as I use the the handles to open/close the doors. Still, with just a little bit of water and a smooth cloth, the smudges come off easily. I love the built in ice maker! This is one of the features I looked for before purchasing my new fridge as I prefer to not have the ice dispensed. 3. Performance...the only sound I hear is from the ice dispenser every now and then. So far, so good!

    Great fridge but...

First of all, I got this one on sale for $970 which now I see was a fantastic bargain as usually this one is about $1200. Great size, nice functions, lots of space inside, but after a year of having the refrigerator we noticed water is being drained into the vegetable drawers and the bottom of the fridge. Called Samsung and they said they are willing to send the parts I will have pay for labor. Not sure if that's okay customer care or not fully admitting guilt. Gave me a number of one certified technician. I asked for more numbers so I can compare and contrast, since I was responsible for labor charges, but the agent explained they will need to assign one technician at a time which was too much of a hassle for me. This issue of water seems to be well reported in online forums and (hopefully) might result in a class action suit. If you get this model, get the extended warranty as it might come in helpful.

Nice design for small space, small family

We've had this Samsung fridge for about a month and really like it. The nicest surprise was the large freezer storage space and ease of access. The platinum stainless finish is easy to keep clean. The interior lighting is good and we like the digital read out on internal temperatures. During operation, the unit is quiet which is important to us as it is close to our living room/TV. The crisper bins have generous storage but can require both doors be open to access contents. The deli bin (pull out) has very limited storage capacity. The adjustable bins in the doors will accommodate gallon containers but they have configuration limitations; we removed the dairy bin altogether as it stored very little. For our family (2 adults), this unit is perfect and we'd recommend it. We don't use the ice maker so can't comment on that feature.

    Unsatisfied so Far

I bought a fridge off the floor, an "open box" buy. Upon delivery to my kitchen when the installer went to plug it in the prongs literally fell off in his hand, all 3 of them! I have never seen something like that happen. Best Buy had great customer service in just giving me a new fridge (that didn't have any scratches or dents like the one I had bought) at no extra charge. The new fridge arrived on Friday and the water line was installed Saturday and one set of ice cubes popped out and then the freezer quit working and the bottom of the fridge is very warm, though the fridge is still working. My food is now thawed and I have water everywhere in the freezer. Awaiting a call back from the home service repair to see what they can do but needless to say after only a few days I am not at all impressed! Also, note that the only place you can store milk jugs or 2 liters of soda are in the doors unless you remove one of the shelves completely.

Good Fridge but Needs a Water Dispenser

This is a solid fridge but it needs a water dispenser. I should have realized this myself when buying it but I didn't and I just can't imagine why any fridge these days wouldn't have one. The only other draw back too is that it's a little smaller then you might want on the top part. Otherwise this is a very classy looking well made fridge. Overall, for the price I would personally recommend you look in another direction for a fridge that's a bit bigger and dispenses water.

    Nice fridge, loud ice maker...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I'll start by saying I like this fridge a lot. The main problem is how loud the ice maker is. If your kitchen is far enough away from bedrooms I would not hesitate to purchase this product. It's loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. I know this is the small model, but tall items such as a gallon of milk or a bottle of wine will only fit in the door. That being said, the unit works well and looks very nice. The LED lighting inside is very bright and looks cool.

    Good cooling, but tight spaces

For the money, this is a very good french door refrigerator, and it will fit in areas with limited width. It is quiet. However, it does not have a lot of features and it lacks space for tall items like wine bottle, milk cartons, etc. The shelves in the main refrigerator area are no adjustable, but the door shelves are, which allows us to add more high storage space on the doors. If you really want french doors, have limited width, and don't want to spend over $2000, this is a great refrigerator.

    great for smaller family

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As others reviewers noted, biggest issue is lack of space for tall items- limited to bottom shelfs on doors. On each door, you can fit equal to one gallon milk & a 1 liter bottle of soda(or 2-2 ltr bottles. Inside, you would have to take out the middle shelf to fit tall items. Would have been nice if Samsung had split shelves to avoid this problem. We adjusted by buying smaller size bottles-not a big deal. Positives- fridge is well made, better quality that other comparative brands;solid freezer pull out door & refrigerator doors; well lit inside; solid shelves inside & on doors; quiet running. Is a good size for 2-3 people. Not good for larger family or family of "big eaters" due to shelf issue. I would definitely purchase this again. Would suggest you look at fridge in store rather than just looking at pictures before purchase to decide if shelf size issue would be a problem for you.

    An exciting new addition

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

With the caveat that we have had our new Samsung refrigerator only for a little over a month (delivered early June 2012), so far it's working perfectly. Another warning: This replaced a 13+ year-old bottom-of-the-line (i.e., contractor-grade) 15.7 Cu. Foot GE refrigerator where the bottom shelf (onto which the crisper drawers slide) had long-ago broken from its moorings, causing the shelf and drawers to pitch forward. So, yes, we're comparing this new Samsung to a very humble baseline. But, that said, even with our great desire to get a new 'fridge ASAP, we nevertheless compared a number of models, features, and prices over a number of months. Best Buy's comparison feature--up to four at a time--came in very handy when we first started looking last year and again this May. Having narrowed down to a stainless steel, pull-out bottom-type freezer with french doors, this Samsung model always was on our short list--pretty much became the standard to which to compare other offerings, features, etc. We also were constrained by width and depth limitations and didn't feel that a through-the-door ice-maker and/or water assembly was necessary, having read that these can cause problems of their own. At this point, we have not yet hooked up our automatic ice-maker, so can't comment there (for now, just using a torn-open grocery store bag of ice we dropped into a lower freezer compartment a few weeks ago which I hammer from time to time, but the ice still is keeping a fresh taste!). Finally, when we saw the price had dropped by a few hundred dollars on sale, that created a real incentive. For us, important features (also found on more expensive models) included gallon-size door storage, bottom pull-out freezer, spill-proof glass, door-open alarm (not annoying, to us, at all), good Energy Star rating, and humidity-controlled crisper. Now, even our "store-bought" fruit and veggies that used to spoil so quickly last much longer. Haven't yet focused on whether the settings on the produce drawers--greater or lesser humidity--make that much of difference. They may well (I've used a mid setting on both drawers), but we also recommend using those special green bags to increase produce storage life. That's a one-two freshness punch that seems to be working great. The fresh food portion of the refrigerator's 13.3 Cu. Ft. capacity isn't huge (but freezer, then, is relatively large). It is, however, more than adequate for our two adult--with occasional visitors or smallish get-togethers--household. The only improvement we could see in this model (echoed in other comments) would be more adjustment options for the door shelves. Only with removal of a provided shelf, are we able to have two shelves tall enough for milk cartons, coffee creamer, and beer bottles or 16 oz drink bottles. But a little readjusting--that is, always considering what's in the door shelves versus tucked away in a lower area of the main 'fridge--can maximize the door. More door shelves come with the 'fridge than are shown in the picture. We are very happy with the refrigerator overall. .

Great for what it is... but doesn't stand out.

I had a refrigerator opening in a remodeled cabin that is 33w X 72h X 24d. Anything over 24" would stick out into the kitchen "hallway" that leads to the dining room... so it was important that I found a counter-depth style fridge that was no more than 33" wide. For my dimensions, the Samsung was a great find! I could have gotten a cheaper 18cf top freezer model, but it didn't have the style and look that this Samsung does. It really looks great. There are a couple regrets, though... and I've only had it for a few days, so maybe these will become bigger or smaller deals, I'm not sure. * No in-door ice or water... at this price range, that is typically included * You can't put milk cartons on anything but the doors * There is no room for a pizza box in the freezer. The slide-out freezer is something I'm still unsure of... I like the look and convenience, but I am also leery that I wont be able to fit as much.... and the lack of frozen pizza space is a major issue for me, since I'm a bachelor! All in all, a good buy, and looks great in my home.

We bought this in 10/2013 it is now 8/2014. Yesterday it quit working. The day my hubby went out of town of course! It's been making noise for months we finally had someone come out and look at it. Said he had to order a part and left. The next day the compressor went out and no longer cooled. We called the same guy he came back and managed to get Best Buy to order us a new one under the Manufacture Warranty. I went to Best Buy that night and they ordered a new one and they will haul away the old. Very pleased and for the same price. While it was working it did an awesome job of keeping the temp perfect. One thing you need to do is close the left door first then the right or it doesn't close properly and you may not realize it. What I dislike is the middle shelf is the only one adjustable. A 1/2 gal of milk you have to tip it to get it on the shelf. I hate that. Also the door storage doesn't hold much and you can't really fit a lot of stuff. Most of the things I had on the doors of my old fridge I have to put in the main Fridge. It's a really good looking fridge and I love the freezer and ice maker. Hopefully our new one will last longer then 10 months.

we were going to get the 18cf, but this turned out to be the same price or less expensive. it works great, keeps everything the perfect temperature, the ice maker works well. the quality of construction is good. my only small complaint is the way the shelves are set up. they are adjustable, but without removing one you cannot fit larger containers (milk, juice, etc.) on them. there are spaces in the door for them, but if you have more than 3-4 bottles/containers this size you will be hard pressed to fit them. we do not have this problem but i imagine other people might, so take a good look at pictures of the inside or look at it in a store before you buy it.

Overall, I am happy with this refrigerator. It is quiet, efficient, and has been working very well. I like the LED lighting. The bottom freezer holds a little less than my old side by side. There could be more adjustment to the shelves. Doesn't hold many tall items. You have to tilt the milk containers to get them in and out when you use the regular shelves (not in the door shelving).

Great french door fridge for price.

After realizing the dimensions of the Fridge space in my kitchen would seriously limit my choices I crossed my fingers, placed my order and hoped for the best. After a long wait (4 weeks turned into 6) the fridge finally arrived and I was pleasantly surprised. I read reviews where there were knocks for capacity but I don't have any problems. Yes, it's a smaller fridge but I think Samsung did a great job considering it's size. You can fit a gallon and a quart of milk on each door, and approx 5 cases of soda on the bottom shelf. The fruit/vegetable drawers are a good size and there are 2 drawers in the freezer which open and close with ease. I have had the fridge for 3 months and get lots of compliments on it. We love the open door alarm and ice maker! The only negative I have is that the plastic film was difficult to remove from the seems/joints and I had to use a razor blade to cut it off.

Overall very happy with the performance of the appliance. The only negative as many other reviews say is the inflexibility of placing the levels, its just too few options especially when you have bigger bottles like juices etc. to put. If you can live with that then this is perfect for a small width space.

    Beautiful Appliance

I am still trying to adjust to this appliance. It has a high pitched whine when it's running that is really annoying. I had a tech look at it, check it out, and he said the noise is normal for this refrigerator. I am also not used to the configuration of the bottom mount freezer and there are no door shelves in the freezer compartment so the little things that I used to keep on the freezer door get lost in the freezer area. The refrigerator part is also a strange configuration for me. It seems to be cooling and freezing as it's supposed to so the operation of the appliance is satisfactory. But the whine is hard to get used to as is the new style configuration of shelves.

I love the led light and chime when you leave the door open. It has enough space for a small family. The only down side is that Milk gallons and tall containers only fit upright on the door shelves. The icemaker is noisy, but overall its a nice refridgerator.

We came from a large side by side, and this has much more room on the inside.yes the shelves don't have as many adjustments as one would prefer, but at this price point it is a non factor. I read other complaints about noise and lack of movable shelves, and this one exceeds my expectations. We have a second "beer fridge" which is now empty. This one holds everything with room to spare.
