It goes into "surround sound" mode automatically on it's own. I wanted a Boost to my TV volume, not necessary surround sound. I constantly have to reboot the bar to eliminate the SS as turning it off via the remote doesn't work. I contacted Samsung with no resolution to this issue and I contacted Best Buy about returning it after 2 weeks and was told I need to see their Geek Squad.

I am sorry to hear that you had some surround sound control issues with this soundbar.
Please know that you can you can select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD or SURROUND. Select the STANDARD mode if you want to enjoy the original sound.
The button is labeled “SOUND MODE”, and is located above the Volume button.
Please refer to the diagram drawing of the remote in your User Manual (page 18 "REMOTE CONTROL").
