My room is not large and even with that it still wasn't enough to make the audio loud enough to cover the room. You would have to raise the volume really loud to just hear it over my ac unit.

    Know What You Are Buying......

This is a compact solution for smaller rooms. Sound is very good - nice range, perfectly adequate bass, nice full sound. Biggest hassle is hanging the thing. I bought to complement a Sammy 50" QLED TV I recently purchased. Fair warning: the mounts are spaced too far apart to hang evenly from wall studs. You will need molly bolts or drywall anchors of some sort which Samsung does not supply. In fact, Samsung needs to get their bolt and anchor situation straightened out - the bolts required to hang my new TV on an existing mount were not included either and they differ from just about every other brand. Resulted in me running to Home Depot late in the evening. Other than that minor quibble the set-up of this soundbar was as easy as could be. I hooked up using the optical connection - TV immediately recognized. Mute the TV, play with the remote for about 10 seconds and you are ready to roll. This is NOT a full fledged surround sound solution. If you want that, then buy it. This is a solution for a smaller room or as a serious boost over the TV speakers. For that purpose it is perfect - and seamless integration with a Sammy TV and sit back and enjoy. Quality item.

Good Sound but Slight Delay with included cable

I purchased a new Samsung 32" N5300 Series 1080 (2018) smart tv, and the sound was horrible (picture wonderful). I then purchased a couple of weeks later this recommended soundbar... hooked it up with the digital optical cable included. Set the delay on the soundbar to zero. Set the delay on my tv (expert settings) to zero. While only slight, there is still a perceptible delay between lips moving and the sound. The sound is excellent but... for the price... this should work PERFECTLY out of the box. I'm gonna try an HDMI cable instead of the included optical digital but.. COME ON, SAMSUNG. This should work perfectly out of the box for the price.

    Great Soundbar For the Money

I have read all the reviews and I must say, this is one awesome sound bar for a small to midsize room and you don't want the additions of a sub-woofer and rear speakers. I have a Bose system in my living room. I wanted something for my den that has a 42 inch Samsung tv. Perfect for the room. Perfect sound. If you want to set up a home theater, then go with a system that is made for it. If you want something simple that gives you great sound, then this is it.

Great little soundbar that sounds BIG

The HW-400 is very easy to connect to and set up. It comes with an optical cable but you can also connect it to your TV's HDMI ARC port or an analog headphone jack if your TV has one. The auto-on and auto-off feature works perfectly and you can control the audio volume with your Samsung TV's remote, so once you use the soundbar's remote to set the bass and treble and other features you can stow it away. The most important thing of course is how HW-400 sounds. I would not say that this creates a theater-like rumble, but it produces very clean audio with just enough solid thump to satisfy most listeners. It is far superior to the TV's internal speakers, which seem to always sound like they are inside a barrel. This thing is not big but it sounds way bigger than I expected it to. No regrets with this purchase and I love how well it works.

Remote a little strange, poor sound!

It appears it just went into clearance mode after I made the purchase. Before I get going I returned the unit. The sound quality was terrible. Sound choices were, "Standard" and "Surround". I adjusted the treble to full and the bass all the way down and it still was fairly muffled and difficult to hear voices. It sounded like everyone was wearing a mask. The Samsung TV speakers worked better. My other Samsung soundbar has voice, sports, cinema, night, standard and surround. Voice and Sports do a great job in able to hear and understand speech. You change the TV sound to "other" speakers and the TV remove did control this soundbar volume. It's one reason why I made the initial purchase. The second was its size. Not too wide and it fit in the space I had for it. All other sound bars are in the 36" plus size. The table for it was only 36" wide under the wall mount TV. The remote has one button for treble, but to adjust the bass you use the volume button by pressing up or down to adjust. A little strange.

For 99.95 on sale this sounds fantastic. East to setup and works with Fios remote and Samsung 50in 7 series 4K TV. ARC feature is a nice feature. One remote for all.
