With the sound bar on you can clearly hear the difference in volume us you turn it up

No, it doesn't shake the room like a movie theater does but at this price point I wouldn't expect that. With my TV (Insigna) volume must be control by separate remote.

I had a friend who had a similar model. I love it. It does what I need. Movies sound great, you can feel the bass during music and gaming.

It has performed well for the purposed upon which we purchased it. I used earing aids and this sound bar improved the sound level significantly.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My only complaint is that although the sound bar connects wireously to the rear speakers, you cannot adjust the volume of the rear speakers independently of the sound bar and the rear speakers volume is set below the sound bar volume.

Only complaint is have to reboot with any surge or power outage. Otherwise great add on for quality sound.

Thank you for purchasing this Samsung HW-N450 Soundbar System. I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with its low volume.
Please check the connection between the Soundbar and other source devices, and try the following tips that may help improve the volume level.
1. Check the source volume. For example, if connected to a mobile phone using Bluetooth, increase the volume on the mobile phone.
2. If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output.
3. Then check the TV for the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source.
4. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar by using the Soundbar’s remote. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics.
5. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.

Great Soundbar for small room

The clarity of this soundbar is superb compare to the others. I’ve been using mine for a year, and never gave up on me

Only problem is that the product does not allow for bass to be adjusted beyond pre-set limits. If you like heavy brass sound, you won't be able to get it.
