    Minimalist. Samsung does say that it's a passive base. To me, it's weak if that's what they mean but it's fine for what I paid for.

    Hookup was easy using HDMI (ARC) -- It's nice being able to control the soundbar with my tv remote. I would highly recommend!

    We were encouraged to buy a sound bar when we purchased our new TV because speakers for the new TVs are on the back of the TV. Found out after the fact that it wasn't really necessary. Also, you have to use the separate remote to control the sound. I like to use a single remote to control everything. The sound bar works as designed; just not sure you need any sound bar - especially if the room is not very big.
