Bass is puny.

Samsung soundbar

Most of the time I just hear the speakers from the tv. but when I read the Samsung reviews, They all indicated that a soundbar was needed to get good sound. Not true. I have excellent hearing and I am 70 years old. All of my previous tv's were Sony's. I Will be purchasing Sony products in the future.

Thank you for purchasing this Samsung Soundbar. I am sorry to hear that you are not completely happy with sound quality and had difficulties with the optical cord.
A common reason that the optical cord is not fitting properly is that there is a small cap on the connector end that needs to be removed. Please check for the cap.
Mediocre sound has also been caused by not correctly placing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on BestBuy.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the display side down and the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor, you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

Sound bar sound

A possible cause may be that the Soundbar is not placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on BestBuy.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the display side down and the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor, you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

Samsungs quality going down
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it's possible there is a bad batch of these soundbars :( Bluetooth connection range is only about 8 feet or so and then it starts cutting out. Wireless connection to my Samsung tv is also spotty and cuts out. Returned first soundbar with not much hassle but have the same exact issue with replacement. I was refunded fully afterward and had been waiting for a newer version to come out.

Better sound than TV only

Took awhile to get the settings adjusted to achieve reasonable sound quality and any sound at all from the rear speakers. Sony home theater unit with other TV is much better for not a whole lot more of an investment.

Subwoofer not loud enough

Subwoofer inferior
