Not sure how it would do in a large living room but certainly would do much better than regular tv speakers. I am very happy with this Black Friday purchase, especially compared with other cheaper sound bars I've tried. They just weren't loud enough to get through treadmill noise.

The sound is great but the model above this one is better especially for dialogue; so if your hearing impaired, get the higher model. The other reason I give this a 4* is because the Bluetooth connection isn't the best. Your device has to be very close for it to have no interruptions/choppiness.

I have a smaller living room but it really is loud. Bluetooth is a great feature and on music mode it sounds even better. Volume level goes to 50, but in the 30's is always loud enough and I like it LOUD.

There were complaints that connecting your blue tooth phone to it caused skipping to occur; however, I found that because the woofer is under an end table, walking around with the phone causes skipping. Leaving it in a stable place solved that.

I went with another Samsung Soundbar because I really liked my first one and it lasted a long time. This one is just as great and it looks very modern and sleek. I hope this Soundbar lasts as long as the first one did (about 8 years). I think it is a fantastic item for the money spent!
