      Hello Mayi,

Thank you for purchasing the HW-A430 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that you are not fully satisfied with your purchase.

You can optimize your soundbar by using the provided soundbar remote.

Press the SOUND MODE button to cycle through the available sound modes: STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, or BASS BOOST.

By pressing and hold the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear) for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)

Rocking the WOOFER button backward and forward will allow you to adjust the bass levels between - 6 to +6.

Lastly, to control the volume of the treble or bass sound, press the (Sound Control) button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.

      Hi Soundbarwhack,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-A430 Soundbar System. Your experience is very important to us and will be shared with our product team. Please know that your soundbar has an Auto Power Down Function that turns off the soundbar automatically if it is in one of the following modes: D.IN, BT, or USB and there is no audio signal for 20 minutes.

If the sound is dropping while the soundbar is playing audio, try the following troubleshooting steps:

You may want to check that the cable connection is not loose. Remove the cable and connect again. Please also make sure that you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by using a USB device.

Should you need further assistance with this issue, or have additional questions regarding the usage of your soundbar, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for Soundbars), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

      Hi Barnrat,

I am sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the overall volume of the soundbar. If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM audio on your TV. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.

If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)

I hope this helps. For further assistance with settings, features, or functions, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for Soundbars), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

      Hello Steve,

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-A430 Soundbar. Your feedback is incredibly important to us and will be shared with our internal teams.

For your subwoofer, it will connect wirelessly to your Soundbar but not the TV. If the LED indicator on the back of the subwoofer is a solid BLUE, then it is connected. If it flashing BLUE, then you will need to complete the pairing process. If you see a RED light, then it you will need to start and complete the pairing process.

To manually connect your subwoofer, make sure that your soundbar is ON.
      1. Press and hold ID SET on the rear of the subwoofer for at least 5 seconds.
      • The red indicator on the rear of the subwoofer turns off and the blue indicator blinks.

      2. Press and hold the Up button on the remote control for at least 5 seconds.
      • The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears.
      • The Soundbar will automatically power on when ID SET is complete.

      3. Check if the LINK LED is solid blue (connection complete).

There are ways that you can optimize your soundbar for a better audio experience. Press the SOUND CONTROL button on your soundbar remote to adjust the TREBLE or BASS levels. Using the UP/DOWN button on your soundbar remote to change the levels between -6 to +6.

If you press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.) This will allow you to fine tune your soundbar to your liking.

You are able to adjust the subwoofer levels by pressing UP on the WOOFER button on your soundbar remote. Push the button forward or backwards to adjust between -12 or -6 to +6.

I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.

If I could I would have given no stars. Bought this product a month back and had problems with the soundbar from the beginning.. initially I thought it was connectivity issue, there wasn’t any sound coming from the sound bar, and switching it off and then back on would correct it, but now that doesn’t work. Had been to BestBuy to claim warranty, but was asked to take it up with Samsung. Lesson learned, never buy anything from BestBuy without additional warranty. $150 down the drain

      Hello dht5150,

There are two additional adjustments that can be made for bass and subwoofer:
      1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down

      2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics. With the sound mode set to Standard, press, and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.

      Hi Drew,

We appreciate your feedback regarding the initial out of box experience with the HW-A430 soundbar and will pass these details on to our product teams. You may want to try adjusting the settings to improve your audio experience.

You can try quickly optimizing your settings by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, or BASS BOOST.

You can further adjust TREBLE via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).
