Poor door design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the door replaced 4 times in less than a year and had to replace the Magnetron after 6 months 1700 watt was advertised but it only puts out 1100 watts. My wife wanted this one because of it's power but has been disappointed by it's performance.. Costs too much, performed poorly, and always needs repair. When it fails again, it will go in the trash No more Samsung anything for me

Microwave is possessed. Operates on it's own!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this microwave with other matching Samsung appliances for our kitchen remodel. I have had nothing but issues with this microwave. It beeps randomly and displays the numbers 77:77. The vent fan will start blowing on high randomly. Other times, when you press a button it does not always respond, so you might have to open and close the door several times. We've tried everything to fix it with no real solutions and Samsung does nothing to take care of it's faulty appliances. I have a matching refrigerator that quit making ice a few months after purchase and three different repair attempts by Samsung's "Qualified Technicians" could not fix it. Needless to say, I will not be buying any more of Samsung's appliances. Their phones are great, appliances; not so much.

Has issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this microwave and installed it, and all was well until the warranty expired. The microwave will at random times select "7" seconds and then will scroll "press start or ok". To clean this I press stop. But it continues to do this. Called Samsung and was asked did I unplug it? I had several times, but it does not solve the issue.

Microwave has low quality in our experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sensor for sensor cooking failed within 2 years. Also, has problems that others have detailed on the Internet where it all of sudden says press ok like it wants to cook something. Fortunately for us, it has never actually started like on some others. According to other articles on the Internet, this is due to some circuit board problem with the door. We've found that if you are very careful in how you close the door, this happens less. Also, there is a tip out there to unplug for 5 minutes to help "reset" this problem. I found that didn't work. However, if you unplug for 15 minutes, it does seem to make this problem go away. At least for awhile.

Stay away from this disaster
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave is a big disappointment; Samsung should be ashamed to sell broken things. Our microwave started pressing buttons by itself. It was fixed once, and it was fine for some time. Now it does it again and more and more often. It never started mircorwaving by itself, but it starts fan at full speed regularly and scares kids. Samsung refused to repair it for free again because 1 year warranty expired. Our microwave is going to garbage after less than two years of service.

Avoid this microwave!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give this microwave zero stars, I would. We have only had it for 6 months and have had nothing but problems. It randomly turns the fan and light on when nobody is anywhere near it. It keeps randomly putting 7 seconds on and tells us to cancel or press start. The only way to stop this is to unplug the microwave and wait a minute before plugging it back in. But then minutes or days later it will happen again, and again, and again. Google Samsung microwave 7 seconds and you will find pages of people reporting this exact problem. Samsung suggests having a technician replace the control panel, but people are claiming that the problem happens even after this is done. This microwave should be recalled and at a minimum Best Buy should stop selling it!

poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this microwave has been nothing but trouble. The display kept coming up with 7's w/o touching the panel. We have had it repaired three times with different parts and no solution fixed the problem. The only good thing was that Samsung owned up to it and gave us a prorated refund. They definitely have a severe problem that needs to be addressed.

UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit as part of a 4-appliance package in August 2016. Six months after installing it, varying cook times, all starting with 7, began to spontaneously enter into the unit, prompting to 'press OK or Start'. Thinking it was a minor glitch, I ignored it. Huge mistake. As time went by, the spontaneous entries became more frequent - twice the microwave began cooking without ANY user input. Contacts with Samsung consisted of various things to try - none of which made a difference. Serious medical problems prevented me from pressing the issue with them until after the warranty expired. Fed up, I filed a complaint with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, who forwarded a copy of their response to Samsung, who opted to authorize a free repair (replacing the door and adding a missing ground screw). 2 hours after the repair, the problem continued - the repair did absolutely nothing. I contacted the repair service, who contacted Samsung Engineering, who demanded videos of the occurrences. After recording and sending 5 videos to Samsung, they later told me the unit was unrepairable and because it was out of warranty, they would make "no accommodations". During the communication period with Samsung, I found a Samsung User Forum that included the topic of my problem with spontaneous entries. There were about 30 pages of posts from users experiencing the same thing, including some who had the door replaced 3 times during the warranty period - one owner, like me, reported the problem recurred before the service techs left their house after making the repair. To verify this, search the web for "Samsung microwave enters 7". I plan to file a follow-up report to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission about the status of the problem. A microwave that starts running by itself is a fire hazard and should be repaired or replaced. As for me, I unplug the oven when leaving the house. I'm also looking for a replacement. If you opt to buy this unit, be sure your home-owner's insurance premium is paid.

Don't Buy this Microwave!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this microwave in May 2016, Got with a Samsung bundle, looked great, 6 month into it the unit started beeping and turning on by itself. was under warranty , Samsung came out and replaced the door all was well for around 6 more months, then it started beeping and a 7 displaying, called Samsung they told it was out of warranty . I read multiple reviews with same compliant. My fix was to turn it on eco mode and it would work when I engaged it. Yesterday the buttons stopped working, tried to unplug and plug back in worked for 5 minutes then the same. Very disappionted, they know this is a problem but continue to ignore. Happy with other appliances in bundle. If you do decide to purchace , get extended warranty, You have been warned,

They aren't made like they use to..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its beautiful and works good but it randomly almost all day presses the number 7.. sometimes 77:77 its like its hunted, I came here to read some reviews and I see its happening to a lot of people, I'm glad my house isn't hunted and its just a design flaw. It hasn't turned on by itself yet and I'm not going to wait till that happens. The microwave hasn't given out on me yet.. the handle is strong unlike the newer version I read about. We are looking to get a new one because of 4 reasons... #1 yes that random 7 pressing has became annoying and #2 we want all stainless steel again (we have black stainless steel very easy to scratching) and #3 we have already replaced our Samsung refrigerator due to ice maker leaks and issues, #4 my samsung dishwasher panel also has had major issues with it randoming unable to start for days... I am reading issues with many other manufactures, seems these appliances are being made to only last very few years compare to before.. If you are going to get any major appliance make sure to get the 5 year geek squad plan, it will save you a lot of headaches. PS.. I see this one is no longer available, I wonder why :/

Great Microwave
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this Microwave for about a week now. I installed it myself replacing a 15-year-old GE XL1800. I was able to use the same wall bracket, I just had to drill new holes above. This Microwave works very well, we are loving the grill option. The only negative I have is the turntable mounting. It seems a little difficult to place the turntable in the right spot, and it also seems to be easily bumped off its track.

NEVER BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I bought this in 2017, it quit in 2018 and was replaced under warranty. Here we are 3 years later, and my second one quit. Samsung says "sorry, we can send a tech it will be $150 plus parts". No thanks, I'll buy new from a different manufacturer. I spent over $5,000 to have a matching kitchen suite, now my dishwasher quit and is being replaced with Whirlpool, microwave is next, and the stove is acting up. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES

Terrible - bad Microwave.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a terrible microwave. Purchased and did not work properly. Had error codes. stopped working. turned on by itself. Timer did not work and kept running. They replaced the door and not long after had same problem. Computer is within the door. Now Samsung wants to charge $279 to fix again and replace door again. This is obviously defective. Do not buy this Samsung microwave or any Samsung microwave. Grilling element is very weak and take a long time to crisp food.

Poor reliability. Buttons stopped working already.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this fairly high end unit for less than 14 months and a number of the buttons already have stopped working. The quality of Samsung appliances is very low. They have lots of bells and whistles but do not hold up well at all. Look elsewhere or make sure you spend the extra money for an extended warranty.
