The old Amana unit delivered ice through the door, which broke down more than once. This Samsung top-freezer model simply has an icemaker inside the freezer. However it does not come with a water filter, and I believe that the manufacturer should definitedly include a water filter and hoses for a few dollars more. So we deduct one star for that omission. I had to buy an aftermarket EcoPure filter and an additional hose. After a few weeks, it seems to be working fine, so we will have to wait and see how it holds up over time.

Very roomy and very easy to move in order to clean behind it. I had a side by side before and wasn't sure I would like the top freezer. I absolutely love this fridge! Quiet and Gorgeous! I bought the black stainless. Great purchase!

Never had this happen with any previous fridge, but I've found lots of people online it happened to with this one. We didn't put anything particularly heavy in them - top shelf gave way, spilling everything, and the impact broke the bottom one, too. Even more OUTRAGEOUS: Samsung said they didn't have replacements and wouldn't have provided them free, anyway. How do you not have replacement parts for a BRAND NEW PRODUCT? Plenty of third-part vendors sell them online for around $75 each, which is awfully steep.
