    Beautiful but no water/no ice Installer left shrugging his shoulders. And now I'm on my own?? Geezus. We bought the entire Samsung suite of kitchen appliances. Is this the way it is??? Spend ten grand and too bad for you?

    Dumbest thing I ever saw, the Icemaker is in the Refrigerator part of the unit. Prepare to get wet and frustrated my friends.

    This refirgerator has many positive features but the ice maker is so bad that it makes it dificult for me to recommend this product. Although the ice maker takes up a lot of space, it holds very little ice, we run out constantly. Also its painfully slow dispencing ice, I become very inpatient watching it drop one cube at a time. And it leaks terribly, filling the drip tray with water that spills down the front of the refrigerator causing small puddles on the floor and large water stains on the door. And pray that you do not lose electrical service for more than an hour because the ice starts to melt and stick together causing the dispenser to lock up, not only does it stop dispensing ice but the storage tray gets stuck making it impossble to remove. The only way out of this mess is to unplug the unit over night so the ice melts enough to permit removal of the storage tray so you can un clog the dispenser. Saying that this ice maker is a terrible design is an understatement, it is without a doubt the worst I have ever had to deal with. So buyer beware, if The ice maker is an important part of your refrigerator needs, do not buy this product.

    Don’t buy if you like ice. Ice maker freezes over weekly and must be thawed. I’ve contacted the manufacturer and they refuse to admit there is a problem even though they have been sued over it. I have I’ll not be buying another Samsung fridge.

    One of the major factors in the low rating is what I feel is a premium price for a mediocre product. Had this been $1000 less I would have been much more impressed. My last fridge was a Frigidaire side by side that was about 14 years old and cost around $900. It worked great with no noise, a large and fast icemaker and only failed after all that time. The current model is very noisy most of the time, sometimes very loud. The ice maker is small and weak, about 1/5 of the size of my old one. There is a 4-5 sec delay before you get ice when you press the lever. This may be a function of the french door style. The temperature control panel is cool, but I can't say the cooling is that much more precise than the 1-7 knob on the old one. The freezer is icing over constantly, huge flaw in a pricey fridge. Overall the fridge is functional. The middle drawer is cool/convenient, but I still have less overall space for the fridge. I do find the freezer drawer to be more functional than the side by side style. Best Buy gets 5 stars for their return/exchange which I used on another Samsung model which was even worse. Even still the process is challenging, taking off work, emptying out the fridge, the delivery, ext.… After almost 30 days with this fridge I would now return it if I could, and probably consider going back to the side by side model. However, I only had 14 days and was not ready to do it again at that time, and was hoping for the best. Obviously, there is no great way to assess a Refrigerator in a salesroom or online, so it’s going to be a roll of the dice.

    Freezer Broke in 7 Years.

    Bought this product in 2017. The ice make started giving trouble in three years of buying it. And, today, seven years later, we came back home from a 3-week vacation to find the freezer died while we were away. The freezer has disgusting mold and nasty growth in it. Thank you Samsung for your reliability.

    I bought a suite of Samsung Appliances for my kitchen. The exact day the warranty period of one year passed, the microwave died. I bought it from another company who basically told me, "too bad, you didn't buy the service plan." I bought another microwave. THEN my dishwasher went out. Bad motherboard. Somehow it WAS covered by the warranty. But the REAL PROBLEM has been my refrigerator: the ice maker freezes up about once a month and I have to leave the door open for it to thaw. Samsung is aware of this problem and they actually have a kit to fix the problem for around $400 but they will not claim it as their responsibility. (This problem has been persistent since I bought the refrigerator.) I moaned and groaned (and other things with Samsung while the third party repair guy was fixing it. I was on hold for 45 minutes (proof the rest of the world has the same problem) and finally the person said they would take care of the problem but had to pass me on to another person. I had to go through the entire argument again then the guy kept saying they could probably take care of it but needed to contact the repair company and he kept putting me on hold (1 hour, 45 minutes by now). In the meantime, the repair guy did not want to hang around and I paid him. The Samsung guy said, "oh, you already paid them? Then we cannot help you." He never could explain that even when I said I could call the repair company and get them to give me a credit on my credit card charge. He refused, I ended up telling him thanks for wasting my time and where he could go. I ate the $400. SUMMARY: Samsung manufactures substandard appliances. Their customer support is horrendous and that 1 Star up there should really be a 0 Star. SPECIAL NOTE: Not to get anyone into trouble but a Best Buy employee in the Appliance Department confided to me that "Samsung appliances suck." I was shocked coming from such a person in the know but they went on to explain the problem probably has to do with the fact that they shop out their parts to third party sub contractors. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

    Top Quality for the Price

    There are a few complaints that the fridge is loud, but from my experience (about 1 month), the only thing that makes any detectable noise is the ice maker. That should be expected. I mean really, the ice is falling on hard plastic, what would you expect. When I first got the fridge, I was a little worried at how slowly the fridge section was cooling down, however, once the the freezer reached the proper temp, the fridge did shortly after. The whole fridge/freezer reached the proper temp in under an hour (very impressive since starting temp was ~85). I bought this fridge thinking that the metal cooling would be much more efficient. It seems to be very efficient to me but we are still waiting to see the first electric bill after purchase. In all, this was a great buy! Although the space in the fridge is smaller than my old fridge, I feel like the "French Door" layout allows for more usable space vs a side by side.

    I have to say I read most of the reviews and I'm glad I bought this refrigerator. plenty of room for us. a lot of the reviews I read said it was nosey. the only time I hear it is when it drops the ice. and I have heard that in all ice makers. the freezer is great. I had a side by side and when you opened the freezer things fell out. the Drawer has plenty of room. Again great refrigerator!!

    Ice Maker is the Achilles heel of this fridge

    Everything else but the ice maker is exactly what you would want and expect from the fridge. However, we’ve had this fridge for about a year now, and I am having repeated issues with the ice maker! The ice repeatedly jams up from the source through to the dispenser portion. Every few weeks you just suddenly get no ice. You take the dispenser out, and have to hack out the ice cubes that have jammed together. Not to mention chipping away at the ice build up around the various other parts of the fridge. You would expect more from a fridge at this price point.

    Stay Away!

    Nice looking fridge and keeps things cold and/or frozen. However, the ice maker is a bad design and Samsung won't stand behind it. Brother-in-law purchased same fridge and had same issue. Water overfills the unit, causing it to freeze over the sides which causes the ice maker to stop working. Ours starting doing this just months after the warranty ran out. Repair person replaced the unit at no charge for bro-in-law, telling him this is a KNOWN ISSUE. Samsung refuses to help us, saying it will have to be repaired at our expense. Too much money to spend on a poor design!

    I literally scheduled the third Geek Squad warranty repair on the ice maker with same issues! This is a known defect by Samsung. I am sorely disappointed in the Samsung counter depth refrigerator that we had to pay extra for to put in our brand new home. It was very expensive and we have had issues with this ice maker since the first few months we purchased it and until our warranty runs out, we can get it fixed, but after this, we are forced to purchase a separate ice maker. Samsung should be purchasing this for us. TERRIBLE.

    I’m an now returning my second one and buying an LG.. this refrigerator is nice but the ice maker is garbage! The first one froze up and the second one only made crushed ice on either setting. Originally BB wanted me to call Samsung for the repair because NO ONE wants to touch it. It’s takem me 8 deliveries to still have a bad fridge.. DON’T BUY unless you’re ready to replace it and wait for them to get it to you. I am no longer going to the Tyrone store and have found that the Clearwater store is very helpful

    I would not buy Samsung appliances again (purchased all matching appliances). I should've know that from the start, as they are better know for being an electronics company. This refrigerator looks nice and has some cool features, but the ice machine is a major issue. I've had the Geek Squad out to "fix" the ice machine 5+ times, but the problem persists. I've asked what needs to be done to replace the unit, and was told that because Samsung keeps coming up with what they say is a new fix, that they are unable to replace. I've also been told on numerous occasions when calling in about the problem, that this is a known issue. This is unfortunate, because it feels like these fixes last a couple of months each time, and it is just getting me closer to the end of the protection plan I purchased. I really wish that the Geek Squad or Best Buy would step up and take care of the customers who purchased products from them, instead of seemingly worrying about the manufacturer who is producing a bad product. The thing here is that I will need to purchase new appliances again (probably sooner than later with this faulty product), but if I cant get Best Buy or the Geek Squad to do the right thing, I won't be shopping with them for another large purchase.

    Avoid Samsung Appliances

    I bought the entire suite of Samsung appliances, and I’ve had problems with all of them. The refrigerator has been the worst. I’ve had two major repairs, losing two refrigerators worth of food, and another repair because ice was building up under the freezer. I would have to remove sheets of ice from underneath the freezer or it would eventually not shut. The ice/water dispenser stop working well. Water would come out when I wanted ice. I would have to jiggle the lever and try a few times to finally get ice. And while this isn’t a major issue, the logo letters starting coming off of all the appliances. It started with the dishwasher. It became a S msung, then S ms ng, and then by the time half the letters came off, I just peeled the rest off. Then it happened with the refrigerator, then stove. At least the lettering stayed on the microwave, but the handle came off in my hand on that particular appliance. These are the worst collective set of anything I’ve ever purchased.

    Not a wise choice- Ice Maker Problems!

    We purchased this model thinking it would be wise to spend a little extra for something nice. Boy were we ever wrong! This unit has been nothing but problems when it comes to the ice maker. Bestbuy has sent out their contracted service team twice and a Geek Squad tech once. I was told the ice maker is a known problem and they already have a repair kit for the ice maker. Since they have installed the "repair kit" the service team has been back twice and we now need them back out again. Our warranty must be close to over because Bestbuy is now giving us the run around trying to get a tech back out. The ice make problems are not just this model, the tech told us ALL Samsung ice makers are a problem. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR! We will see if Bestbuy takes care of the problem this time. I was told this is why we should, and did, purchase the extended warranty, 03-04-19 Still no help from Bestbuy!

    I would never buy Samsung again. I bought this when it was the newest thing out but the ice maker had constant problem since the beginning. As of today it has officially stopped working and obviously out of manufacturer warranty. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG AGAIN. First they have explosive phones now they have defective no recall fridge.
