Non-OEM Water filter

The owner's manual states to use only Samsung provided or approved filters. I went to the website for the manufacturer of the filter that came with this fridge and found no indication that Samsung had "approved" them. Did Samsung provide the filter? Who knows? We've all seen the price differences between the OEM and third party filters. The lack of a Samsung filter installed at the time of delivery, while probably having no meaningful benefit, just strikes me as bush league on Samsung's and/or Best Buy's part.

So making a decision on our next refrigerator would be tough. I am a medical device engineer my wife is, well picky, we wanted something that would do the trick for us both and fit into our kitchen. What a find. Samsung products have always worked well their flat screens are top notch, their Li-po batteries are the best. This refrigerator with the black stainless skin and no handle doors are perfect. The inside is very well designed, lots of room and very good movement to the draws just feels quality. The self closing middle and freezer compartments are smooth as silk. We noticed other complaints about the water/ice compartments, no problems at all. I do wish the ice cubes were a little larger two make up for one larger one. There was some issues with delivery but that is water under the bridge. We would highly recommend this refrigerator.

Not a Happy purchase

The salesman lied about availability of sore brand filter, as they or Samsung filters were N/A thru Best Buy. Found on Ebay! Now the ice maker has quit working, and after almost two hours trying to reach Best Buy, they divert me to Samsung and I have to wait for a third party to come to my home in a few days. Been over a week W/O ice.

ice maker design flawed

At times you have to take a hair dryer to melt all the ice in order for it to work again. This is, mind you, AFTER Samsung sent out a tech to "repair" it. The icemaker is a part of a class action lawsuit, which appears to be at a standstill at this point in time. I do not recommend this refrigerator at all because of the ice maker. I give this two stars because the auto-fill pitcher is fabulous! I wish other brands would add this feature.
