Good fridge but major flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought this refrigerator from BestBuy just over a year ago and had no issues for the first 8 months we owned it. Since that time it has been an ongoing source of problems. This has been made worse by the horrible customer support of Samsung. If you really like this refrigerator, I would not buy it without purchasing the BestBuy additional coverage because you will have problems and Samsung service is terrible to deal with. The first problem was a faulty control board which shutdown the unit and we were without a refrigerator for almost a month while they looked for parts, sent two different repair people to our home - all while enduring countless phone calls and multiple reschedules of our service appointments. The issue since then is the ice maker building up frost and eventually causing the ice exiting the tray to dam up against the wall of the compartment and stopping ice making. This is a known issue and you can find other people online experiencing this same problem. After waiting two weeks from the initial call, we finally got a repair person to come to our house. The fix they made only worked temporarily and we are now waiting again to have someone come back out as the same problem is reoccurring. Overall, we like the refrigerator but for the money we paid, we should not be having these issues on a unit that is less than 2 years old. I would honestly not recommend this or any other Samsung appliance to anyone. They make great personal electronics, but have not been impressed with the durability of any of their appliances we have owned. This will be the last one we buy.
