    Good fridge for the money

    Going to comment on both the fridge itself and the delivery experience which was a nightmare. This fridge is decent for the price of entry, might be missing some bells and whistles of more expensive models, but it's a good value. The storage space is nice and shelving is easy to move around for ones needs. As far as my biggest gripes one is the panel for the ice/water maker doesn't have any lighting, so at night unless you memorize where the buttons are you may have to turn a light on to be able to read which button you're pressing. Also the bottom tray that collects water dripping from the ice/water dispenser, it's a bit small. I was really worried water would be dripping from the tray down the fridge but that hasn't been a problem thankfully. You will need to hold your glass a bit higher up when dispensing ice than on other fridges you may have used. If you don't put your glass higher up against the ice dispenser it will shoot ice all over your kitchen. Unfortunately I've noticed inside the freezer, the shelve under neath the ice maker chopped ice keeps collecting there. Now for the home delivery of the fridge, I would give them a negative rating if possible. First of all the delivery team are contracted (JB Hunt) and not actual Best Buy employees. The guys came close to two hours late. The weather wasn't great that day and of course when they finally did show up it was during a downpour. The fridge sitting outside in pouring rain as they did what they needed to do. Once in the house they damaged a doorway into the kitchen in several different areas. Neither one of the delivery guys spoke seemed to speak very good English, luckily my wife can speak some Spanish so we were able to communicate. After reporting the damage to Best Buy they gave me a gift card to help compensate for what we went through. We also filed a complaint to Best Buy and JB Hunt. Someone from JB Hunt reached out to me to set up a time to stop by and fix the damage they caused. The day came and we waited hours, they were a no show. No one ever called me or texted me that day. The guy I had spoken to when we set up the date for them to fix the damage, never even responded when I reached out to him that same day of the no show.

    This model is my third Samsung. There is a reason this model sells for hundreds of dollars less than other Samsung models of a comparable size. Here's what I failed to notice. First, no small slide out drawer for cheese, lunch meats and the like. That means items such as I just mentioned have to go in the veggie bin or with the meat as there is only two bins. Unhandy. Samsung offers no replacement or addition for this particular width shelf. Second, no egg tray. Really? I didn't think you could buy a reffer with out one. (Sure wished I'd held on to the old one) Third, the (cheep) design of the bins means they bump on one side or another as you pull them in or out. Not a smooth operation and not expensive to have utilized a better design. Fourth, the pressure to change from water to ice on the panel requires more force that pervious Samsungs. Which means a second or third attempt to find the "sweet spot" may be necessary. Not a big deal but overtime.... Lastly, the temperature control is not nearly as precise as you would reasonably expect. Oh it cools big time but cannot be reduced sufficiently to not require a microwave to dip ice cream. Samsung makes fantastic refrigerators. This is not one. Lest you think I wrote this out of passion, I've been using this one for 15 months. Caveat Emptor!

    Bought in 2018 , still working sufficiently and very very good quality as a new one. If you are intending to use it abroad with 220v , you must have high quality step up & down converter (5000w) to avoid any damage.and I like its design so much

    Saw this item at Home Depot and came home and researched it more in the internet. Came across it at Best Buy for the initial same price as Home Depot but when we looked at other Samsung items for our kitchen makeover the price was almost $500 less at Best Buy with the $200 instant rebate and we got the free chest freezer that was on offer. The space we had for the fridge left us with limited options. This item not only fits perfectly but the black stainless color is fantastic. It was at temperature in no time. The door shelves can be moved which is a great feature. Plenty of room too. I cannot end this review without telling you about my delivery experience. We ordered all 4 major kitchen appliances. David and Diego were the most professional people I have met in a long time and the delivery went very smoothly and quick. They were very friendly and were knowledgeable on the appliances that they delivered. They are both a huge asset to Best Buy and I cannot say enough good things about them.

    Okay I'm going to start off by saying I really didn't want to get a Samsung refrigerator again. However the price range was there for the replacement of my last Samsung refrigerator that was junk. So thinks to geek squad protection I received my new fridge yesterday. It looks very nice and is quiet. The shelving is odd as the door shelves are okay but are located in positions that even if you rearrange them it makes it looks odd. Now my main concern and issue I have that I didn't see anywhere on the site and just thought it would be there is there is NO LIGHT ON THE FREEZER DOOR for when you get water or ice at night to light up the area for you to see what your doing. So you have to turn on a light which is not only a hassle but if your waking up just to get some ice water then you will have turn on a bright light that then takes you out of your sleep. At least the last Samsung had a light there but not this one. I honestly I'm thinking about getting a different refrigerator now just because of this small issue that Samsung should have made available from the get go. If that's not a major issue for you this would be a perfect fridge for you. The black stainless is awesome.

    I am a huge Samsung fan from electronics to appliances. This fridge did not live up to my expectations even after going against my judgment after reading the reviews. First off, as a refrigerator it worked fine as far as keeping everything cold and frozen, doors sealed nice and tight, no problems there. Unfortunately the stainless always looks dirty. Its hard to keep clean and the leaking water/ice dispenser makes sure you constantly have water marks down the front. The water dispenser has a constant drip. This is accompanied by any ice (mainly crushed ice) that sits on the back of the dispenser door and melts over time. That is to be expected but the lack of a drip tray and the leaking water dispenser make sure that the small recessed area floods all the time. The controls are terrible on the front. They are not back-lit, there are LED's so why Samsung chose not to add a back-light to the actual icons is annoying since there is an LED above them to show what is selected. The controls like to choose when they would like to work which can be very annoying. It is pretty noisy! Its not deafening but you can definitely tell when its doing something. I am returning this for a different model/brand. It looked great when it was first installed, but due to the dirty look from anything that comes in contact with it and the water marks it looked like a cheap appliance in my new kitchen with all new appliances.

    So when I went to Best Buy this was my second option. I ended up buying an LG fridge but decided to exchange for this one since that one had a dent in it . I regret it now, I honestly thought people were crazy saying the fridge was loud. Compared to the LG fridge it definitely was WAY louder. I wouldn’t recommend this fridge.

    Buyer Be Aware

    Please be aware of a problem that most Samsung products suffer from. Our three door refrigerator, that is only five years old, had one of its door handles break while trying to open it. The part, which holds the pin that holds the door handle, broke. The plastic part IS NOT REPLACEABLE. That means that if this part breaks, you have to buy another complete door. There is nothing wrong with the door other than this weak plastic part. The plastic part that failed probably costs a buck or two to make and maybe twelve dollars in a store, if it was sold, now costed us $300. It seems that during design and assembly, SAMSUNG has placed a PLASTIC part that is not repairable and the customer is responsible for their mistake. Custom services' response was that there was nothing they could do because my refrigerator was not under warranty. Since my fridge is five years old, a warranty wouldn't have helped anyway. Your concern should be that SAMSUNG's products have these parts in them. If your spending your hard earned money on SAMSUNG products, your depending on the SAMSUNG name and reputation to help its customers out when one of their products has failed. This is a design flaw by SAMSUNG. SAMSUNG should take responsibility for their mistakes.

    I like the organization of this fridge - the glass shelves and door shelves. The water/ice work well. I easily changed the filter. I use the vertical slot next to the ice maker for pizzas. That was the main seller for my husband, haha. The one thing I don’t like is every time you close the door it makes a noise that sounds like a car horn honking in the distance. But after months I don’t really hear it anymore

    Horrible horrible refrigerator. We switched from a fridgedaire to this. Our old refrigerator operated with no issues for over ten years. We’ve had this under five and have had multiple service repairs. The fridge is currently not working as I type this and Samsung’s repair services is slow and inconvenient. Purchase another brand.

    This was a mistake. This fridge would be good until something goes wrong. Samsung’s customer service is useless. Everyone you talk to “understands” your concern but they dont do anything about it. My fridge went out in less than a year. The fridge portion went out first and then the freezer portion failed. You would think there would be some sort of priority to get someone out to fix it, but I was wrong. We called on a Thurs and was told the earliest the vendor that samsung uses in my area wasn't available till Monday the following week. 4 days later. So we sucked it up after calling twice to speak to another rep but each time just ended up with someone that seemed like they were reading from a script. I spoke to a gentleman named Christian who was more help than any of the other three but still offered no solution other than to write down what we lost during the duration of the fridge not working. Due to the fact that he couldnt find another vendor that samsung used in our area. I figured I would call back. I got a gentleman by the name of “Steve” I believe.He literally repeated what Christian said about understanding the concern I had but again no resolution. What really agitated me is that he seemed like he was trying to get the appointment bumped up or reallocated and he was going to call me back the next day to offer his solution. Do you think we received a call, negative. Nothing. So we go buy some bags of ice the next few days to take some of the products in coolers we had around the house. Monday comes around and we recieve a call from the vendor Samsung chose for us stating that they aren't going to show up till weds since the part they ordered didn't show up. We asked what are you talking about in regards to a part? You haven't even looked at the refrigerator. They again just stated they understood our concern and thats all they could do. As if they took the same training the Samsung employees had. Fast forward to today, the vendor Samsung chose shows up with this supposed needed part and guess what? Thats not the part they needed, its something else and that wont be here till Friday. This is now 8 days that we are out of the fridge and freezer and we just continue to buy bags of ice and use coolers because the refrigerator doesn't work and the vendors Samsung uses are incompetent. Dont get this fridge and if this is how Samsung tries to make it right when their product fails, definitely buy another brand.

    I like the refrigerator and the functions are self explanatory. Easy to use. The filter is easy to change. This is not a fingerprint resistant finish, the reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars.
