Samsung fridge many issues - ice maker, cooling unit freezing, ice build up, ice melt into deli drawer

Dents are on the side of the refrigerator. Best Buy told me today that it is a design structure defect. There are at least 5 dents on the side, a dent on the front door . They must think I'm stupid

After much research, I decided to purchase this particular refrigerator. Like you, you may go through the next 100+ reviews and find that they are mixed -- so you wonder if this is the refrigerator for you. Let me state up front that most of these reviewers have NEVER READ THE MANUAL. Here, I will address the most common complaints: 1. Fingerprints on Stainless Steel: First and foremost almost everyone knows that this is going to happen with any make or model that has a Stainless Steel exterior - so this should come as an invalid complaint. Just clean with Stainless Steel cleaner and move on! 2. Water dripping - Read the manual where this is addressed: After installation, run 2 gallons of water through the system (about 3 cups at the time to minimize compressor heat) and this should eliminate dripping. If it continues, then the connection is not right. Also, manual clearly states to keep your cup under the dispenser for a full second. 3. The Ice Maker - Some have complained about a Crushed Ice/Cubed Ice mix -- again, addressed in the manual. One also needs to know that ice that is made in the first 24 hours should be discarded and that it takes a full 12 hours after installation for the first ice to appear. A couple of reviews complained that the ice is white and not clear (ridiculous - who cares?) -- again this is addressed in the manual. Lastly, about ice, it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to know to keep your cup under the dispenser until it's finished, or you will get ice on the floor. 4. Some claim their unit is quiet while others state noisy -- mine is very quiet. Noises that may come from inside (again, read your manual folks!#. To me, the only legitimate complaint would be scratches on the doors at the time of installation. Several suggestions: 1. Go ahead and buy a water filter replacement now. 2. Purchase a Belkin Cube Surge Protector #less than $10# for your refrigerator. 3. I know it's hard to know upfront, but if you can move your shelves upward or downward #a nice feature of this refrig) at the time you are loading it, you'll be glad you did. -- I am very pleased with Best Buy's installation and they made the entire process from sale to delivery a pleasure. The refrigerator is big and brightly lighted. My immediate question is"What value is a major appliance review made only 2 weeks after unit is installed?" I think Best Buy would better serve the customer by asking for reviews one or two years after the purchase.

I bought a refrigerator from Best Buy and the manager took the time to go over each model with me to answer so as a consumer I could make the correct decision and I did. GREAT JOB..

Ice maker eats up a lot of space in the fridge itself. Which you don't realize until you get it home and realize only half you food can fit in their.

I bought this fridge 3 years ago. 3 years in I have cracked drawers. The drain line has started freezing up on it causing water to pull in the bottom and drain on the floor. Looking in to it, all Samsung fridges do it and you have to consistently take them apart and thaw them by hand, Samsung knows and doesn't care, there are multiple articles online . The ice maker also freezes up if it is sitting level. Please research before buying!

I'm hesitant to review most purchases after only having them for a couple of weeks, but so far so good. It's much larger than our previous fridge and I really like the bottom freezer.

Like over all space and temp control drawers and size of freezer drawer. Missing from previous purchase was a location for butter tray in door. But over all, happy with purchase.

I wish I could give this fridge a 5 but constantly freezing of the coils is a hassle. Removing panels and trays to fix the problem is annoying. I would look for another brand.

It has a clunky door that has a mechanical seal I hate it. Good looking fridge everything works but the whole way it functions doesnt make sense.

For the amount we paid, I expected better. It looks nice, but the shelves crack easily and are expensive to replace. The ice-maker stopped making ice and now water pools underneath the bins. We've only had it 5 years and already are having to replace it or pay for expensive repairs. I don't recommend.

The Samsung French Door with Thru-The-Door Ice and Water has fulfilled all of our expectations. It keeps our food items fresh and delicious. The freezer has easy access. Storage is more than adequate. The ice maker has been doing its job without any issues. We are very happy customers!.

I really like this refrigerator. The size is great. The only negative is the water connection at my house is in a place that prevents the fridge from being pushed back far enough, but that's the fault of whoever built the house, not the fridge!

Who knew that you could be this excited about a refrigerator. It's has tons of space and I love the French door style. The freezer drawers are great. I love the shelf level options also. Great design and works well for us.

The ice maker stopped working twice after the 1st year. I had to pull the ice tray out and let the ice maker defrost before pressing the reset button as per the manual. It just stopped working again and this time the whole ice tray is frozen stuck so.....I'm waiting on samsung to repair it.

This fridge has been a very nice addition to my kitchen. The outside controls are easy to use, the doors open easy, and the bright lighting lets you see everything inside very easily. The outside finish is so smooth I can wipe off dirt or smears with a wet rag in an instant. This is a 26 cu. ft. and it has a ton of room.

We love the large draw in the refrigerator & the dispenser in the door. The ability to adjust temperatures is great. And it actually keeps things in the freezer frozen, unlike our old refrigerator.

I did not know this when purchasing. The ice maker is defective. It freezes up and stops making ice. When I bought the refrigerator, the salesman at Best Buy Wilmington encouraged me to purchase the extended warranty. Last year 2 men replaced the ice maker. Now, a year later, I am calling again for the same problem. Others have commented on this issue.
