Will never buy Samsung appliance again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had issues with the ice and water from day one with this product. The water dispenses extremely slow and have ruled out all other factors for the cause. We have had repair guys out numerous times, parts replaced but nothing works. The times I have contacted Samsung I got nothing but thrown in circles, leading no where. I could go in detail of my awful experiences, but I will just plain say I have never been so disappointed with a company in my life. ALL of our electronics are Samsung and we have never had an issue. This is the main reason we went with Samsung for appliances. I am not happy with the dishwasher either. I think its safe to say I highly recommend AGAINST this product and ALL Samsung APPLIANCES!

Broke very quick
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this fridge for 3 years. It has a hard time keeping my food cold and the ice machine has already broken. About once a week I have to manually defrost the ice maker so I will keep working. The doors and drawer make a lot of noise when opening and closing. My next fridge will not be a Samsung

Overall good purchase.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a good purchase. Just turned 5th year with no issues. 2 shelves need to be replaced but I’m not sure if they broke improper use or material quality,

On sales it's a price for a solid fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our slowly dying old Amana over the Memorial Days sales. It was hugely marked down and the sales team highly recommended it. I love the size, the freezer is great, and the ice/water dispenser works well. Sometimes it can be a little noisy - not loud, just not whisper quiet. For the value, completely satisfied with this fridge.

Nice fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a nice fridge, but certain things are not ideal. Ice maker makes wet ice. Ice and water dispenser is very poor. water drips first when asking for ice. Even cubes selected will come out crushed and sprays all over. Freezer secondary drawer is very cheap and slides very uneven. Freezer drawer makes a lot of friction noise when opened.

Great Deal but had to return it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a nice refrigerator but after a month it was returned because it just made me crazy with loud popping noises at night! I thought someone was breaking into the house! I never got used to it - and it wasn't the ice maker making the noise-I turned it off! YouTube has documented the noises and someone speculated the insulation on the cooling lines are too tight not allowing for expansion and contraction.

It’s alright but not the best.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fridge and freezer does it’s job great. The shelves are made from cheap plastic and cannot hold weight. Now I have to buy a replacement. The french door seal latch stopped working properly until about a year in. Now we have to manually close the latch, otherwise there’s no seal keeping the food cold. The freezer door makes a weird sound when you close it and it’s very easy to slam shut. I don’t want it to one day end up on the floor.

Great fridge at a great price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far no major complaints, very happy with the purchase. This unit replaced our 11-year old Frigidaire fridge. Runs very quiet, with plenty of storage, the only minor gripes: a little short of shelf space for taller items, and the shelves on the ice-maker side are a little too narrow for most items. Best Buy delivery schedule/customer service was outstanding!

Terrible Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this fridge for four years, and I would never buy it again. I had my first problem with the ice maker within the first year of me owning it. The ice maker no longer works even after attempts to repair. I bought thermometers to monitor the fridge and freezer temperatures. The fridge temperature is consistently warmer than the set point and what the display shows as the measured temperature. Essentially, the fridge thinks it is cooler than it actually is. I have to keep the fridge at the lowest temperature setting, but it barely keeps the food within safe storage temperatures. There have been week-long periods where the actual fridge temperature was above safe storage temperatures even with using the power cool function on the fridge. I had to buy another small fridge to keep my more perishable foods in. The freezer does the opposite of the fridge. The freezer has been consistently lower than its set point. I've got the freezer turned up to the max temperature, but it continues to keep my frozen items "over frozen" for lack of a better term. Avoid this product at all costs.

Excellent Fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'v had this fridge for 5 months now so far so good, It does make some noise when the icemake is on but other than that it works great. I just replaced the filter and it was about $50 not bad for good tasting water and ice.

Aged review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perspective from a buyer a little after year of ownership. I'm a big Samsung fan, but this refrigerator has fallen short. Most of our issues are with the ice maker and to put it simply, we have to buy bagged ice and store it. It never produced the volume of ice as described when new but it did fine. Now we get about 1lb per day. Often having to go at the storage unit with a flathead to chisel the build up away. Being that the icemaker is in the fridge, you cant simply defrost it. This ice maker has an 'off' that you can select to stop making ice, but unlike the icemakers of old.. it does not have an auto shut off bar. Its also very costly to replace the water filters which we seem to have to do about every 3months and manual says it is typically every 6months. The fridge itself is fine, but we could have saved some $$ going without the icemaker at purchase.

Absolute Garbage - the Fridge & Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in 2014 from Best Buy. It worked great for a few years but started showing issues in late 2017. Around that time, I started to hear a loud grinding sound from the fridge. At first it was minimal, so I didn't think too much of it. However, within a day or two, the sound grew to that of a jackhammer. Constantly grinding and would only stop when the fridge would turn to 'defrost' mode. After another day, the sounds stopped completely. I chalked it up to an issue that the fridge must have been able to process on its own and moved on with my day. About two days after the grinding stopped, I noticed that my fridge was noticeably warmer. Milk not as cold. Meats not as cold. That caused me to search for potential issues online, and boy, was a shocked to see how common this problem is for people with this (and other) Samsung refrigerators. From my research, it looks like there are 2 main problems: 1) The small drain hole below the coils will fill with ice, causing the defrost cycle to send water all over the bottom of your fridge (underneath the slide out tray). Some have had this to such a point that water will run out of the fridge doors and onto the floor 2) The far upper right-hand corner of the fridge (where there are a few exposed condenser coils) will build up with ice. This is the issue that I have. After some time, this buildup will turn into a large iceberg and will run over into the evaporator fan, causing the annoying jackhammer sound of the fan grinding into the ice. Every 2 weeks, I am forced to unload the contents of my fridge and place them into a mini fridge I had to purchase. I then take off the back panel, expose the iceberg, and hit it with a hair dryer for about 20 - 30 min to melt all of the ice buildup. The fridge works 'good as new' for about 10 days, then the faint rumblings start again and build up to jackhammer volume and the process starts all over again. I've seen it said that issue one can cause issue two, but I'm not quite sure if that is accurate or not. A lot of theories out there, but no reliable fixes just yet. Samsung will even 'advise' that you raise/level the front of your fridge, but this does nothing to solve the issue at all. While Samsung packs in nice styling and features into their refrigerators, none of that matters when it can't accomplish the foundational goal of keeping your food at a nice, cool temperature. The worst part of all, Samsung does not admit that there is any known issue with these refrigerators! A quick search on their own user forums will show otherwise. Do yourself a favor and call your local appliance repair company prior to your purchase and ask for their thoughts on Samsung products. I guarantee that most will offer a quick laugh and say that they won’t even service Samsung appliances as Samsung will not stand behind their products and suffer from fundamentally flawed designs. Please, save yourself from this albatross. Stay far away from Samsung appliances!

good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great item, but the water/ice despenser needs a tray so everything is not splattering down the front. Any way to purchase or recieve some type of tray? I would not have purchased this if I knew this in advance.

Wondering if Samsung should stick to electronics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought our Samsung refrigerator in 2012 for $1800 so I'm thinking it should last us a while. The only questionable review I read was the front door ice and water were slow. That's putting it mildly, they are very slow. Two years into ownership a fan in the back started humming a little louder than normal. I checked the manual for any help, thought maybe the ice bucket was too full so got in the habit of shutting off ice maker when the bucket was full. The humming stopped for a while then came back twice as bad. Made a call to Samsung but before anyone showed up the humming stopped again. Finally the frig quit cooling to capacity and I had to call Samsung again for a repair person. Come to find out that since this is an auto defrost if for any reason the defrost cycle is interrupted by a power surge it stops defrosting and refreezes whatever water is still there so my motor/fan had a buildup of ice around it hence the horrible noise and lack of cooling. Since the repairman was here to defrost everything in July I have had to once again unload everything from my frig and freezer, unplug it and open the doors to manually defrost again not to mention the times I have had to defrost my ice machine so it would work. Now two weeks later my frig is starting to hum loudly again. Am I going to have to manually defrost every two weeks! I'm thinking of biting the bullet and buying another new frig but it won't be a Samsung.

Best purchase for my home so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I have bought a lot of different appliances and furniture for our new home and this is probably the best purchase so far. Very nice looking with great storage and functionality while not being over-the-top expensive. Samsung products are always a good buy, so I would highly recommend.

Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an excellent purchase for my new home. I bought this on Presidents' Day weekend and have extremely happy. The cubed ice and crushed ice features are excellent. Storage is great and Folding shelves make storing taller items easy. Door shelves are a little small, particularly by the ice maker.

Loud
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this because our last frig broke. I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to say for those who are concerned about noise this frig may not be for you. It sounds like a car is parking in my kitchen every now and then. It's not the ice maker either. We are trying to decide if we want to go through the whole mess of returning it though. Other then that, the layout is nice and it looks great. I wish the drawers for the freezer pulled out so you can see both without pushing the top one back but that's not that big of a deal.
