Terrible!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this refrig Oct 2014. It makes terrible noises all of the time and now Dec 2015 the evap coils are frozen. Of course, the warranty expired in Oct 2015, so we have to pay over $350 to have it repaired and from what I am reading online others have had to have the same issue repaired more than once. BEWARE of Samsung. We never had issues with our Whirlpool refrig that we purchased in 2005 and it is still running!

Extremely poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this model for three years and it has been a disaster. First the water dispenser leaks and was not able to be repaired. Samsung sent their certified repairman to install a new part he told me he had done this before and it didn't work. Well it didn't work there is no fix. The ice maker is frozen over and apparently an acute problem with all Samsung's. I spoke to my appliance repairman he said he won't touch Samsung's, he has tried to repair these ice makers and the design is so poor it is a huge job and hard to do without damaging the fridge. I have another leakage problem that leaves water on the floor. Samsung will do nothing about his other than send their incompetent certified repairman. I also bought Samsung dishwasher, stove and microwave as a package and have had problems with all. Morale of the story don't buy Samsung appliances.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new refrigerator! The black stainless is wonderful. The only thing I wish someone would of told me is that it can take up 72 hours to make ice. Because of air in the line. I spend an hour on the the phone with geek squad trying to figure it out.

Great potential but....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this fridge after our Whirlpool went out when it was 12 years old. This fridge has a lot of room and that was a positive. We were excited until we started using it..... The water flow out of the door is EXTREMELY SLOW. It takes almost a full minute to refill a basic water bottle. I know that is "1st world problems" but it gets pretty annoying, considering I dropped 2 grand on this thing. The basic warranty is for 1 year and we did not get the extended warranty. Of course, after 15 months, the ice maker quits working and is making a grinding noise. The repair man is coming next week so we are hoping to not get hit with a high bill. I have been very loyal to Samsung products over the years from cell phones to TV's to appliances. Less than a year ago, we had to buy a new washer after our Samsung went bad after 18 months. I will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance. Their TV's and phones are great but they will never get another dime of my money on appliances. Avoid this fridge!!!

Looks great, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had this fridge for less than a year. I hate it. We did our research before purchasing and went in store to check out this Samsung w/ through the door ice and wate fridge. This fridge is a finger print magnet. It is difficult to remove/clean the finger prints/ or any streaks. The ice maker on this SUCKS.. it takes forevvver to dispense ice, and it sprays water and ice everywhere. Water dispenser shoots out too strong, so if you're using something shallow, it would definitely splash everywhere. Then it drips on the fridge, making it difficult to clean. The bottom pull out freezer only pulls out about 6 inches making it impossible to put anything in there. Would not recommend this fridge.

Ice maker leaks, poorer energy efficiency, design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this at Best Buy without reading the reviews which was a mistake. The features on this stainless steel unit are nice, but many problems with it from my perspective. Biggest problem is that the ice maker leaks out water from shoot each time it is used. The geek squad guy came out and told me the ice maker which is located in the refrigerator area has its own coil to make the ice, but has to get cold air blown up along the back from the freezer area below to help the ice maker compartment stay colder since it is located in the refrigerator section. There was water condensing and freezing along top inside portion of the ice compartment. A teaspoon or more of water leaks out each time I dispense ice from the ice dispenser on the front of the fridge. Something tells me that having the ice make in the refrigerator section is a problem for Samsung with this model at least. The Geek Sq guy checked it out and called back to HQ in California or wherever he talked to the top technician and they decided nothing wrong with the ice maker to be fixed. They blamed it on high humidity in Colorado at this time of year!. The solution they said I had to use was to turn off the energy efficiency button selection which would help reduce humidity in the fridge. Also I must set the freezer temperature to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or lower according to them in order to make the air from the freezer that pumps up to the ice maker colder so that water would not form. Well, the Geek guy turned off my energy efficiency setting and turned the freezer down to 0 Fahrenheit and it did not fix the problem. I think it is a problem that the ice maker will not work properly in various temps the freezer gives you the choice of to choose from. Why make temps like +5 Fahrenheit a choice on the freezer if it will not allow the ice maker to work properly. I like plus 5 as my preference so freezes ice cream in freezer at the level I like to have it at so it is easier to dip from carton! Anyway, just tried out the ice maker; and the fix by the Geek Sq guy of turning off the efficiency setting and lowering the freezer temp to 0 Fahrenheit did not fix the water dripping out of the ice dispenser shoot on this next day! My previous Sears refrigerator ice dispenser never had this problem, so not sure why this expensive Samsung does have this problem. Other thing about this unit I am not very satisfied with is the wide drawer design that goes across the whole length of the bottom of the refrigerator area. My spouse insists on putting things in it, but to get anything out of it, you have to open both of the big refrigerator doors which lets much more cold air out. I would prefer that the drawer not go across the length of the refrigerator compartment or at least have some way of opening just one half of this drawer or just to make it a shelf so that it did not require opening both doors to open the drawer. Unable to convince my spouse not to put often used food in the wide drawer that we use on a daily basis, so have to open both sides of fridge at once on a daily basis. Biggest problem I have currently with this unit is that it is dripping water out of the ice maker shoot when dispensing ice and that there are condensation ice particles forming inside the ice maker. And I agree with those that say that the cubed ice comes out chipped up to some extent at times and the ice maker is pretty noisy compared to my old unit. Colorado not always this humid and typically very dry most of the year, but what about all those that buy this unit that live in a humid area? Can none of them use the freezer temperature range they want to and do their ice makers drip water out of them each time they dispense ice????? Not good. Supposedly too late to return it to Best Buy for something else. Guess their agreement states they will give me something else if I have them out for 3 house calls on this and not satisfied. May go that route. Other final comment. This unit had a tag on it for energy efficiency at Best Buy that looked very good with a cost of around $48 per year to use it. But the one delivered to me said it was more like $60 per year. Went back to Best Buy to ask what was with the discrepancy and they apologized and said the rating had been updated by the government but they had just not put the new rating on their floor model. Arggggg.

Trouble and aggravation and dangerous food spoil
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the fridge in August 2017. First disappointment was ice maker not working. Samsung sent repair tech out 3 times before it was fixed. Next issue all clear plastic bins and drawers started cracking and broke in chinks. Samsung replaced all drawers. Next the plastic around the glass shelves started cracking. Next, the Fridge door hinge (upper corner one) broke off. Now the wheels fell off the crisper drawer and top drawer of the freezer. The plastic inside the fridge is crumbling in some places now, it forms a spider of small cracks. recently the fridge started producing a massive sheet of ice under the crisper drawer that would thaw out for a week it seems. Than all thaws out and there is water in bottom veggie drawer as well as the large crsiper drawer. All packaging that's cardboard gets soaked and slimy. This weekedn we didnt use the fridge and when opening, we had the equivalent of 4 gallons of water gushing from under the crisper drawer onto our floors. The hardwood floors are moisture damaged from the small trickle of water drippping on the side of the door. We cannot keep our meds in the fringe because it is now not cooling properly. the temperature display on the outside does not match the reading on the thermometer we installed. The fridge is a lemon and a shame to be released in production and sold to customers that expect a working appliance. I want my money back for this piece of ...lemon, it has been the biggest aggravation from the very beginning

Poor cooling, leaks, etc.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing this in July 2015, we’re replacing this fridge after 4 years. The fridge wouldn’t stay cool. The back panel froze, it leaked water in the bottom shelf and vegetables drawers, and the ice maker jammed often. We took the ice dispenser apart to break up the ice. Samsung service is not good. It would have been a $200 service call without repairs and it took days to get a call back. We had a local service guy make a few repairs. We had hoped that the fridge would have lasted at least 10 years. We are also replacing a 4 year old Samsung dishwasher. After purchasing a suite of Samsung appliances when we remodeled the kitchen, we have had nothing but problems with them. Samsung makes great electronics but I would not recommend it for major appliances.

Nothing but trouble
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this refrigerator because our daughter owned one and was happy with it and because Best Buy offered it at a good price. It has given us continuous problems. We have had to replace the ice maker twice and the refrigerator fan once, as well as defrosting the ice maker fan, which our repairman told us was a problem that many owners have had. In addition, when we called Samsung to complain that we had gotten a lemon and that we had spent more than 50% of the purchase price on repairs, they said that our warranty was voided because we had not used an authorized repair service. But no link to such a service can be found on Samsung's web site nor can one be found using Google.

IceMaker-very poorly Made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, love the concept of the refrigerator. Quick note: Best Buy "Geek Squad" still repairs appliances. One reviewer said "Because Best Buy no longer services their appliances through Geek Squad they had to call Samsung directly" Not true. Problem with refrigerator: Ice make gave out within a year and a half.

Annoying Noise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator May 2014. I love the layout of it but am very annoyed by a high pitched noise when the compressor runs. The noise is not continuous but goes on and off sometimes for short periods and other times for a very long time. I don't mind hearing a compressor running but this is ridiculous! As I'm sitting here typing this review, the house is very quiet except for this extremely high pitched noise. This cannot possibly be normal as my mother's Samsung (and other people I know who own a Samsung) does not make this noise. In addition to the noise problem, Samsung has been out to work on the ice maker because it was making crushed ice as well as cubed on the cube setting. Then Geek Squad had to replace the ice maker and then the water filter because water was leaking from the ice maker into the refrigerator. They can not figure out what is making the high pitched noise. I'm thinking I have a lemon. Very disappointed Samsung!!

Stylish, but annoying things that make it not worth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My biggest gripe is the ice maker/dispenser . When on ice. Doesnt matter if it is on cubed or crushed- I get crushed or cubes with bits and pieces of crushed. Pieces go EVERYWHERE. Be prepared to grab a towel and wipe up the floor after every ice venture- it doesnt matter if the mouth of your glass is huge (which mine is)- its like the chips fly horizontally out of the despenser. Water trickles out at the beginning of every ice capture escapade, I am pretty picky about water getting in my drinks- I think the water from the melting ice is more than enough. Ice maker is TINY. We are a soccer family- this does not produce enough ice to handle a Saturday fill up of ice in the water bottles. We have the Gatorade water bottles- wide mouths and the ice still manages to not make it in. The shelves inside are nice- sturdy, we ended up taking one out because if you go to COSTCO and get anything taller there simply isnt enough "tall product space". For the price- I would have thought these things would have been perfected, but I know what to look for next time. O do love that I can see everything in the fridge.

Don't buy this fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought a house with this fridge with warranty for 5 years.( from a different store not best buy) but this review is for the fridge since the store is now closed. Was purchased in 2016 and warranty has come to repair fridge 4 times for same issues ice maker freezes causing it not to make ice and having to put the fridge in defrost mode which is a quick fix for about a week and when they replace the parts seems to last a bit longer aswell as the drain gets frozen causing the bottom of fridge to fill with water and have to clean it out every week or it will leak all over your kitchen floor. now warranty company says not worth fixing anymore since they have paid more than half value of the fridge in repairs so they well send me a check for the remaining price of the fridge and will not replace because it will cost more than the check they are sending me this fridge has this commom defect and I see it from other reviewers aswell as on youtube save yourself the headache and don't buy this model I don't really write reviews but if I can save one person from this it was worth it I am now im stuck with broken fridge and check for less than half of what I paid that has not gotten here and was sent 2 weeks ago.

Time Bomb!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this beautiful model 6 years ago. Love the looks, the door has a large opening for getting ice & water. To keep fingerprints off I occasionally wipe it down with mineral oil. If you purchased it make sure it's level, suggest getting the extended warranty cause 40% and I'm one of them than has issues with it. After a year the ice maker started freezing up every 6 weeks, then it got to the point it was like every 10 days. It was repaired, though now 5 years later it can't keep the temperature inside the fridge stable. I set it for 34, though it's only 42 inside! The evaporator coils are now icing up! Have defrosted it several times!

PROBLEMS: search the internet by the brand name
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Problems - do an internet search by the brand name and you will find them. I have owned this Samsung refrigerator for 5.9 years bought at Best Buy. At this time I have had 2 ice makers replaced and and now the ice maker is broken a 3rd time. Plus there is a water leak, leaking water inside the fridge and onto the ground. I am a 77 year old women and have had to pay for these repairs, plus am on my hands and knees cleaning up the water. I reached out to Samsung and all they can tell me is the warranty is expired. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT - DO NOT BUY. Research the ice maker and water line leak issue it is well documented on the internet. I am appalled at their customer service response of this is out of warranty. If this had only happened 1 time I would understand but the ice maker breaking the same way 3 times and leaking water is more than just a minor 1 off issue. Research their product and read the reviews that talk about the same issues I am having. DO NOT BUY. Look at the photos others have posted, read the reviews online all over the internet and stay away. I'm told the main issue is that there is not extra insulation between the exterior wall of the fridge and the ice maker unit / area. If you look at product photos you can clearly see that there is nothing extra there to prevent the ice from melting, refreezing and then I assume breaking the motor.

STAY AWAY FROM ALL SAMSUNG MAJOR APPLIANCES
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator in 2015. Let me give you a brief review of how our time with this appliance has gone. Our ice make has gone out TWICE. Our cooling fan has gone out a total of 3 times (including again now), the Heating cool in the back that maintains that no ice buildup in the back of the fridge is in check, has gone out twice. The shelves are all cheaply made and broke (even after being replaced, they have failed with the new parts ordered from Samsung. When Samsung sent someone out to check the ice maker at one point, they saw the ice build up on TOP of the maker and told me that the caving in of the ice maker was due to USER ERROR of me heating it up..... While there was 5lbs of ICE built up on the top. I love samsung electronics, but since I have owned their appliances (Refrigerator, washer and dryer), I have had nothing but issues (severe and multiple). Stay as far away as you can from their appliances. The ONLY good service I have had from these things is from Best Buy. Samsung themselves are 0% help and it is a nightmare.

DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG FRIDGE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy a Samsung fridge, I cannot stress this enough! There are class action lawsuits and Facebook pages with thousand of members all with the same problem with the ice makers. We bought this fridge and a year later the ice maker broke leading to the fridge leaking water and not cooling properly. It’s already been repaired twice and Samsung doesn’t care. I have spent over 4hours on the phone with Samsung and have taken 4 days off work for repairs and it still doesn’t work right. Never again!!!
