Attractive but LOUD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a nice looking refrigerator and I like that the shelves adjust. My old side by side didn't do that. My gripe is that it's loud. It makes sporatic knocking noises. It is especially unnerving late at night when you're sleeping and you hear this loud noise. My old side by side which was at least 12 years old wasn't as pretty but also wasn't this loud. I initially sent the fridge back and they replaced it with a new one (same fridge). Replacement fridge making same noise. After doing some research online I noticed that apparently this is a known issue with this fridge. Not cool. The instruction manual even addresses it in the FAQ section. If I had to choose again I would not chose this fridge due to the noise. If I could replace it with a different one I would but unfortunately the return period has expired. I paid for warranty on it but what can they do if that's just how it is. I probably should have done better research before buying and/or return period expired.

There are a number of sounds a refrigerator can make that have different causes. In many cases, these sounds can be minimized by making minor adjustments to the leveling or amount of clearance provided for air circulation. If the sound is from the ice maker, you can turn the ice maker off during the times of day that you're home to prevent it from disturbing you. Please refer to the User Manual or online Troubleshooting Guide for troubleshooting suggestions, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to help determine whether the sound you're hearing might require service to address.

Horrible Refrigerator

About a year in.. maybe about a month after the warranty expired, it started to leak from the ice maker. Then it just stopped making ice. I replaced the ice maker and a month later it is still leaking and barley makes ice. Water drips from the ice maker all day long. It’s not under warranty anymore and now I’m forced to get a new refrigerator. The refrigerator is loud and just leaks everywhere, it’s really awful a dangerous constantly have water on the floor. This was an awful lot of money to be this poor of quality. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a Samsung again. Don’t waste your money!

Never again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this fridge 4 years ago and I was excited but started to have issues soon after. It started with the ice maker. It kept frosting over and I would defrost it with my hair dryer. After I killed my hair dryer I figured I would call the warranty. They came out several times to the point the repair guy knew me. I was told this was a known issue with Samsungs. My fridge then started frosting in the back and making noise. They came out again and replaced the cooler. A month later, the same issue and the ice maker was frosted over again. I called and this time the guy said 3 out of my 4 internal drains were clogged and it was the worst he had ever seen. He suggested I unplug it for 2 days. Warranty said they would reimburse me the cost of the fridge to buy another one. The repair guy said stay away from Samsung and lg’s because he’s always out fixing them. The problems with this fridge are never ending. It’s been a 4 year nightmare.

makes a lot of noise

It still is making a loud popping noise coming from the side of the REF. I was told it would go away?? It's been doing it for a month. How long do I need to wait? It is also on sale for $300 less but no one will give me the difference. paid $1799.00

It looks great and has been very quiet and worked well. However, about 6 months ago the ice maker stopped working and then more recently the fan began making loud noises. Apparently, this was due to ice buildup and the fan hitting the ice. Anyway, it cost me $472 to fix both items. I was expecting Samsung to stand behind their product, but no such luck. So, if you buy Samsung be ready for a bill in a couple years.

Fridge/freezer good, ice maker bad

They came out twice already replacing the ice maker, last time ~ 6 weeks ago and ice maker stopped working again already. Apparently Samsung has discovered a Design flaw and a lot of parts were exchanged the first time, but obviously this is still not the fix. Fridge and freezer are fine, but we need a working ice maker. Will place another service call with Geek Squad and try to replace the entire fridge, ideally for a different brand. Because of the ice maker, I cannot recommend this fridge, no complaints about GeekSquad, they've been doing good so far

Love the fridge!! Problems w door air flap

It has awesome shelf flexibility and has a lot of space for food organization. Really like the ice/water dispenser. Big problem with the door air closure flap attached to the inside of the left door. Doesn't work automatically upon door closure as it is supposed to. Been waiting for a couple weeks for repair upon the new delivery of the fridge. Having said that.. Wouldn't trade this fridge for any other.. It meets all my needs! Plus the employees at the Best Buy in Chino Hills are professional, knowledgeable, helpful and honest.. I bought a flat screen tv as well. I was in an out with 2 major purchases in 30 minutes. Awesome experience!!

Do not buy

The design is ridiculous with the ice maker in the frig section. We have decided it will be easiest to just buy bagged ice (we didn’t pay $1600+ to now buy bagged ice). The trays have also cracked inside; not sure what’s up with that. Samsung dishwasher was just replaced as well. And range has had 2 service calls. The appliances looked lovely and had strong ratings when we purchased but I will NEVER buy Samsung appliances again and am kicking myself. $4500 down the tubes. Strongly suggest looking at another brand.

Ice Maker stops making ice

First time it stopped within a week of having it. Samsung has sent someone out each time and they said nothing was wrong. Please don't buy this refrigerator or any other Samsung product!

Ice maker ruins it!

For the first two years, other than the fact that the ice came out pretty slowly, I LOVED IT! But then about six months ago the ice maker just stopped working. After weeks of trying to fix it, and watching you tube videos I finally realized that the ice caddy in the refrigerator portion had cracked and I just needed to replace it. I did that, with a Samsung certified part, and now it leaks everywhere. The ice dispenser is full of build up, there are water streaks running down the unit constantly, and every time I open the left door it drops water all over the floor. I have done my research and to the many others this has happened to, they say there is nothing you can do. It is SO incredibly disappointing. I think the reason reviews on here are good is because people review right away. After two years they don’t revise it. So BEWARE. This unit is NOT worth the price.

Will not purchase again

Ice maker stopped making ice, needed to be fixed few times.There is water below the Deli drawer that is accumulating. Now the ice dispenser will not stop. Smells burnt. Need to turn the whole fridge off. What a hassle!

Horrible Sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though I read the reviews prior to my purchase, I still bought this refrigerator thinking and hoping all the bad things wouldn't happen to us. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. We purchased the refrigerator two years ago with an extended warranty. After a few months, it began making a really loud noise. As if there was a HELICOPTER taking off in your kitchen. They came to service it, and because it is a Samsung, had to wait for weeks for a fan to arrive. A few days after the new fan was installed, the noise came back. Long story short, it has been serviced 3 times. The last person said to "just give it a knock on the wall and it should stop, if not call again and I'll be back". I have been told by different repair guys, that out of 10 jobs they may have a day, 7 are Samsung. Save yourselves a headache and don't even look at the Samsung appliances.

Flawed Interior Bins

Overall, we have not had problems with the refrigerator working properly. However, the side door bins and inside plastic components are cheaply made. They crack and break even when few items are placed on the bins or when the drawers are used. We have had to replace four bins in less than 3 years.

BAD PURCHASE! Don't BUY THIS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my refrigerator for 3 years now and have the SAME issue with it freezing over. This is the list of things that have happened: 1. Year 1 and 2 months it froze over. I had get ice chests from my neighbors and defrost my refrigerator. 2. 6 mths after the freeze it started to leak water in the snack tray and it stopped working again. So I tried to defrost it again and that didn't work. My fan was the part that broke so I paid to get it repaired. 3. My refrigerator stopped working AGAIN 6 months later so I called Samsung and paid close to $500 for them to fix the same fan issue. All the while... my snack tray keeps leaking water and I have had towels in the snack tray to prevent it from seeping out, this issue was never fixed, the technician told me he didn't know why it was happening. 4. Samsung came out a second time to try and fix the excessive condensation and the very next day, I had water in my lunchmeat. I am so tired of Samsung saying it is out of warranty and sick of having to remember one extra thing. I am a single mom that is trying to handle all I already have to remember. I just want to keep my food cold and dry and not change towels weekly!!!!! Oh the best part is....Samsung sent me an email asking me to upload the receipt of purchase so they could compensate me. When I called back a week later, the rep told me I was sent the email in error. I now have to PAY AGAIN for someone to come out AGAIN!
