    We bought this refrigerator on 2-25-2016 and we have had nothing but problems with it. The ice marker is to close to its plastic wall, so when the ice drop from the ice marker trey, they get stuck and then it clogs up and i have to go into the ice marker and chip away the ice so they can fall again. Horrible design!! NOW, the refrigerator is making loud noises, so we have to hire a repairman to come out and fix it. My guess its the compressor. Remember, this fridge is only two year old. ON the plus side, it looks nice, but thats it!!! Stay away from this!! Samsung, i wont ever buy from you again!

    Five years into ownership and the problems keep coming. The defrost drain is known to have an issue with freezing up which causes the bottom of the fridge to collect water and freeze, jamming the drawer. The ice maker freezes up frequently and requires defrosting with a hair dryer. Now the fridge section temperature drops to 20 degrees and shows a 'normal' 37 degrees on the panel. Replaced the temperature sensor which worked for 2 days before the problem returned. Maybe it's the defrost sensor, maybe it's the damper door, maybe it's the control board.....or maybe it's time for a non-Samsung unit.

    I bought this fridge around Halloween, 2013 thinking that the bad reviews regarding loud motors would surely not be a problem with my fridge. Two weeks after installation the noise started so I went back up to Best Buy but they refused return because I only have 3 days to return an appliance but they did offer to come to my house within a 5 hour time frame to take a look. With only a few hours of vacation time left for the year and family visiting for the holidays I opted to deal with it but now, several months later, the noise is so loud that I have to pause my TV sometimes to get up and open the door so the noise will go away- temporarily. Once the motor kicks on again it makes up for lost time and is even louder than the time before. Today, I tried to get ice but it ran out even though I rarely use the ice maker. After further inspection I found it to be frozen completely over. It wasn't hard to remove the ice but rather an annoyance with a "modern" super expensive appliance. I gave my old fashioned, 10-year old, two door whirlpool fridge to my brother and I've asked him if he wants to switch- he won't trade to "upgrade" because he's heard the beast in action and doesn't want to deal with the noise. I still have limited vacation time that I'd like to use for an actual vacation and not waiting for 5 hours for Best Buy to take a look at my fridge so, until I'm willing and able to do so, I can only write a review to prevent others from mistakingly buying this impressive looking appliance that is less functional than a refrigerator at a fraction of the cost.

    Lousy Refrigerator

    Major engineering flaws. Going on third repair. Glad I spent the money on the 5 year protection plan. Lasted three years and then the ice maker froze up and water began to freeze under deli tray. Eventually, everything in back of fridge freezes up. First repair lasted a little over a year. Second repair six months. Making the call today for the third repair for same problem. Crossing my fingers that Best Buy or Samsung does the right thing and replaces this lemon! Asked repair man if Samsung might replace and he replied that then he would be out of a job. Very reassuring!

    Never buy an appliance from them again

    I received the fridge as a gift for my birthday, it just stopped working this weekend at the five month mark. Call Samsung to get it serviced and they have no sense of urgency I have an 8 month old and a three year old we cannot eat out everyday. It broke on Friday it is Monday night and still no resolution. They don't have a Samsung approved vendor in our area so we have to go through their accommodations department but wait they don't have a phone number. So I guess I'm at their mercy. Would never recommend this product or brand to anyone they don't care about their customers.

    I generally like Samsung products. I like this refrigerator, for the most part, but the darn ice maker keeps freezing up. Every couple of weeks, I have to get a hair dryer and defrost it. I routinely fill gallon zip lock bags of ice, so the problem isn't we aren't using it enough. Plus, at least I have ice when it freezes up. I'm going to by a new refrigerator (not a Samsung) for the kitchen, and this one is going to replace the old one in the garage. The one in the garage was half the price and is 20 years old. This one is two and I suspect won't last nearly as long. Very dissapointed.

    Milk has to be stored in the doors

    The top shelf is not adjustable and does not fit gallon sized milk containers. The door containers also don't have enough room to store more than one gallon of milk. It's recommended not to store milk in the doors since this is the lowest temperature in the refrigerator so I am very disappointed in this purchase.

    I have had my refrigerator for two weeks now. The ice maker has not worked since it was delivered. Today the Geek Squad came to fix it (had to take a day off work). Surprise. They had to order parts. He mentioned that there are 5 individual problems that Samsung has notified Best But that are in need of repair. That is for the ice maker alone!!! If they are known problems then FIX THEM BEFORE THE REFRIGERATOR SHIPS. Now I need to take another day off work so they can come back and "fix" a brand new refrigerator. If this does not work then it is going back to Best Buy along with the range (no issues yet) and I will be done with Samsung. I am starting to wonder if the long Black Friday sale was just to clear the Samsung inventory of known defective refrigerators.

    Ice maker stopped working at just about 2 years. Now there is water under the food tray. Constantly have to de-ice in order to make ice. Worse refrigerator.

    bad pantry drawer design

    After owning this refrigerator for 6 months we have a problem with the cool select pantry drawer opening or closing smoothly and getting jammed in the tracks. We contacted Samsung support and they kept asking if we damaged the drawer. We finally got them to have a service tech call us. But before he called I pulled the drawer out and could see the rollers had come out of adjustment and were not riding in the tracks evenly. A simple screw adjustment put them back in their proper place and the drawer worked smoothly again. There is no way to lock in the adjustment unless a spacer is put on each roller screw to keep it at the correct width. We explained this to the tech when he called and he said to just call them if it does it again. I am a maintenance tech and have seen this kind of cheap engineering from other brands but expected better from Samsung. According to the forums I have read on this subject other owners have had the same problems and same response from Samsung.

    Don't buy a Samsung refrigerator

    If you purchase a Samsung refrigerator you will be disappointed. Within 1 year all the door shelves will have broken off and your ice maker will have a high chance of failing. Many people have had these issues. Samsung will not stand by its product and and customer service is non existent. Will never buy anther Samsung product again now that i know this. One of the customer service individuals said "Well you know you have had your fridge for over a year". Since when do refrigerators only last a year. Buyer beware!

    Samsung Lost a Customer

    Beautiful refrigerator but horrible quality. We bought this refrigerator this summer, I loved the look of the black stainless steel and had to have it (It was more expensive then too). However 2 weeks into owning it the dispenser began leaking and it was not from the actual water dispenser it was from the "back wall" of the dispenser. I called Home Depot warranty as we had purchased the extended warranty and was told that because it was within the year I would need to call Samsung. I called and we did some trouble shooting and was told to wait 48 hours and if it did not resolve they would send a technician to look at it. Fast forward to 3 months, 5 technician visits and over 24 calls to Samsung I was told the appliance was defective and would need to be replaced. Now I need to wait 10-15 business days for a fully functional refrigerator the exact same model that has the exact same problems. Horrible customer service and no regard for the customers at all. Never again will I buy Samsung. I understand that an appliance can be defective but the bad customer service, the amount of calls and rude service to solve the issue that was obviously from production. That is unacceptable. You lost a good customer Samsung.

    Terrible Fridge

    Have had this fridge a little over 4 years. First couple of years no issue whatsoever. After that the ice maker spits out half melted ice. Back of the fridge iced up meaning you have to take the whole back off and dry it with a hairdryer or let it completely defrost (gotta do this at least once a month). With the back icing up it doesn’t get nearly as cold as it should. Lots of reviews on the same issue with this fridge. It’s a design flaw and something I think Samsung should definitely refund there customers for. Stay away from this fridge unless you wanna buy a new one every few years.

    This is the worst refrigerator we have ever had. We have had it for a little over 4 years and have replace the ice maker 4 times. We are now having issues with the fridge part of the unit and it freezing all of the contents(<20 degrees). Fortunately or unfortunately, we did buy the 5 year extended warranty plan. However, the 3rd party techs will be coming out for the third time to fix the same issue within several weeks and actually made it worse after the first time. I will never buy Samsung refrigerator again.

    I love this frig and would buy it again even at today's price......tad bit higher than on Black Friday. The freezer double drawers is super and freezer holds all sizes.
